If I could give a minus 10 I would. Avoid this company for they are scam artist and liars. I was a customer with them for 2 years and we sold our home and wanted to disconnect the service of which they told me I had a year left on the contract . I told them the installer never told us it was a 3 year contract but a two year contract so what can I do to rectify this. He told me I could move my service for the remaining time to my new home and then end the contract. The house was sold in august and I called them before closing. They charged us for September and October at the old house then they came and installed a system at our new address which they said was "free" and charged us $80.25 for the installation then charged our account $ 756.00 for cancellating the contract on our previously owned home !! I just went through the roof and called them and the customer service guy said " oh sorry let me see what we can do to get your money back. Now it's going to take 7 to 10 days to pay us back. Hopefully they will or I'll be calling again and again. Stay away from them there are other security companies out there. read more

What we had here, was a failure to communicate. On July 3rd, I sent a request to ADT for a total system upgrade since we were replacing all our doors and windows. We were advised that the local technicians would be in contact. Long story short, we chose a locally-based provider after ADT failed to respond. Interestingly, when our ADT system was removed, the monitoring department did not call to ask if there was an intruder attempting to disable our devices. Made me wonder if we, although paid in full, were receiving monitoring services at all. To add insult to injury, we will be paying thirty days' service fee for monitoring we will not actually receive despite the fact that our coverage was suspended today. After what seemed to be an interminable telephone call, ADT's highest administrative level of "escalation" was implacable in their determination to charge us until August 24th after I waded through three levels of their customer service hierarchy in search resolution. During each period on hold, the cheerful narrator repeatedly told me how valuable ADT's customers are. They blamed me for "Not following up with my request to upgrade our system." I guess ADT systems sell themselves. While I am sure ADT is within its contractual rights to continue to charge its customers following notice, they did not win any good will points in their insistence to adhere to their company policy. False advertising and terrible customer service. Call 6 different times and got hung up on twice. No one has any authority. I had an appt set set up an alarm as advertised for 27.99. When tech finished he ask for my land line. I don't have a land line so he said it would be 47 + a month. Never told that when I signed up nor will I pay it now! Talked to 6 different uneducated people who could not help me. Now I have to return everything they put in and get them a cancellation letter within 3 days. Very poor and misleading service never to be used again. Never told when I call in for an appointment that I needed a land line! BUYER BE WARE! I have been a customer of ADT for over 40 years. I cannot still believe how they roped me into a contract on PULSE. The techniques were deceptive and the reality of what I ended up with was nothing like what they promised. I ended up having it mediated by the BBB (which controls the ADT in Palm Springs from Florida as related to PULSE). While the alarm system is adequate, their PULSE is something to beware of. For the area in Palm Springs, they could not install the garage door opener (because my system was too modern...I needed to downgrade my garage door opener in order for it to work). They sold me on RING which is not really part of ADT. Then, when I wanted to cancel Pulse, they said they would raise my monthly rate to take away all advantages of being a 40 year customer, and the cost would have been nearly the same as if I kept PULSE. Just beware and how someone from the company come and commit to everything is writing with a clause if they can't fulfill the installation there will be no obligation. I was duped by ADT. I will change alarm systems as soon as my contract is up. read more

I had a representative come to my home. The representative Frank Roasati represented himself from ADT. He assured me that my contract would be moved free of charge to any new home. The camera stopped working 2 months later. I was never able to reach anyone. Now after I left my home I can't reach any one and the email from his company Safe Heaven just says this is an outside party do not open the attachments. When you call them it goes in to recording. I'm having the company looked into, but please do not sign up with this company. They are not ADT and they lie to you.. It's all recorded.. read more

Where should I start? Sloppy installation and use of old existing components, the "free" system came with very little. After the $580 up sell I had what we thought was the " ideal system" for our home only to find out after three months it was never connected to the monitoring center!!! To add insult to injury the $100 gift card promotion does not exist. After calling four times and given the runaround they finally told me the that the time limit has expired. In May of 2015 we signed up for an ADT system in out Palm Springs home. The salesperson promised us we would be able to have their new Pulse wireless system. He even consulted with his main office. The service installer was at our home for more than 5 hours and could not get a good signal for the Pulse wireless system. We had to have an old fashioned wired system installed. We understood that we were obligated to a 2 year contact with ADT. On May 1st of 2017 I called to cancel our contract. The customer person asked if the monthly price was a factor in cancelling and I told her we just did not want an alarm system anymore. She told me she would cancel out service. In July I noticed we were still being charged on a monthly basis, but at little lower amount than we were previously paying. When I called the company to questions these charges the representative said our service was not cancelled, but we did receive a reduced monthly charge. I insisted that we cancelled out service and never asked for continued service at a reduced monthly charge. Upon further checking the representative confirmed that we did in fact request a cancellation. They did cancel and refund the charges for the period we were charged. Rather than apologizing for the error he insisted we were obligated to give ADT a 30 cancellation notice to cancel. ADT did charge for the 30 days we did not use the system. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ADT TO ANYONE! We plan on buying an alarm from SimplySafe in the near future. They do not require any contract for monthly monitoring service. read more

I told them to just cancel this install and I'm going to give AT&T Digital Life a call, since that who protected my home in Seattle and I was very happy with their service. Then he put his boss on the phone and attempted to hard sell me and before ending the call she said who do you think protects your bank, I replied who. She of course said ADT. I call and the person answering the phone says no will be here till Monday. Do you really pay someone to sit at your phone to say we can't help you? Your website is down. I have been on the fence anyway since everyone tells me I pay too much for home security. Pulse (the reason I pay extra) is always malfunctioning. I'm going to get some quotes on Monday to drop ADT. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER ADT. They are a sham. We went with them according to name recognition. What a mistake. Our experience the same as Darlene S. on 6/21/17. We were robbed. That's the first issue. I asked Mike, the salesman/installer, twice to leave because he wore me out with offers and alternatives that we did not need. He went from $5,000 to install a full system, and changed to $1,000. within barely a breath. We did neither. He kept talking and did the install, adding two pieces on two doors where I distinctly told him not to. I got a copy of the contract via email, it was not the one I signed. Initials & signature obviously forged by Mike. The monthly billing never went through correctly and I got calls re past due. We spent 1 hour two different times trying to correct billing amount and name charged properly. 8 (EIGHT) people later, Transferred again. We gave up. It's a shell game. There is no ADT in the Coachella Valley. The installer is allegedly the franchise in Palm Desert. Try and find them. They can't be found either. There's no office, no phone #. We don't think ADT actually exists anymore. It's just some sham company now out ripping people off. AND I HAVE NO HESITATION WHATSOEVER SAYING THIS. I am seriously concerned what will go on if there is cause. What to do at this point? I paid the bill rather than ruin my pristine credit rating. Will have to deal with it soon however. Adt has defender come to your house and lie to you about everything. Horrible customer service the manager Calvin Kline apparently don't know how to make customer happy when they have been lied to . House was never complete no alarm for 9 days , had to have a second installer come out since Mike J failed to keep his promise to come back to our house . The second installer was really nice but when we requested to speak with a manager over the phone mr Calvin Kline was rude as hell and didn't make anything better for everything we went through . The salesman and the installer were good. The customer service agents, when you finally reach one, are friendly and well-intentioned. But heaven forbid you should need to actually talk to one, because answering question after question with the automated system that answers your call is excruciating. You go through an interrogation by a computer that isn't programmed to forward your call to a human - the only way to talk to a human is to go through their eight or nine levels of questions. I'm so frustrated - now I understand why they put you under contract, because if they didn't, they'd lose all their customers over stupid stuff like this. If there was a zero star, that's what I would give ADT! What a scam. They advertise a $27.66 monthly service charge. I call and after being told I would get smoke alarm, and other "free things" I agreed to have them come and install their system. I told them on the phone I did not have a landline. That was fine (on the phone). The whole process was 6 1/2 hours. The sales person tried to sell me over 3k worth of equipment which I didn't want. I just wanted a basic $27.66 monthly charge no extras. After hours he said everything was free. I corrected him saying it was included in the charge. Then installation began. It was impossible to hook up. This went on way too long. I got 9 texts from his supervisor during this whole ordeal. When I finally told him I was through I had to talk to another supervisor. This one said all employees knew they couldn't hook it up through the Ooma that is my phone. Obviously they did not or why would a high pressured salesperson waste my time in the first place.
