After months of follow-ups, delays, and waiting for management to finalize the paperwork, I was suddenly informed that the company had implemented a "new process" requiring a non-refundable $1,000 payment before they would process the application, engineering review, or other preliminary work.

Anthony and Jeremiah arrived at the beginning of the arrival window! They were professional, great with communication, and ready to work. I had several questions and they were prepared for all of them and super helpful. The battery removal and install took less than an hour. Naturally Tesla's update took twice as long. LOL. Still total time was under 3 hours. I have managed 100s of installers and worked in Solar, this was a fantastic expierence! I sent a formal letter over a year and a half ago outlining my concerns and requesting assistance, but I never received a response. More recently, I sent another detailed email, giving the company 14 days to respond with a plan to address these longstanding issues. That deadline has now passed, and once again, I received no response. This company installed my solar system in 2016. At the time of purchase, I was given expectations regarding the amount of energy the system would produce and the savings it would provide. Unfortunately, those expectations have never been met. In nearly ten years, my system has never produced the level of solar energy that was represented when I made this investment. As a result, I have spent thousands of dollars out of pocket on Southern California Edison bills that I reasonably expected my solar system would significantly reduce. Instead of receiving the savings I was promised, I have continued paying far more for electricity than I ever anticipated. What has been most disappointing is the lack of follow-through. The company has been aware of issues with my system for years, yet they remain unresolved. Despite numerous phone calls and emails over the years, I have received little to no communication, no meaningful updates, and no proactive effort to correct the ongoing problems. There were also issues from the very beginning. When my system was installed in 2016, I was never provided with the monitoring equipment that was supposed to come with it, nor was I informed that there was a monitoring app available. Without those tools, I had no way of monitoring my system's production or knowing that it was consistently underperforming. After years of phone calls and emails to the corporate office, I finally got someone to come out in 2023 to install the monitoring equipment that should have been installed from the beginning. It was only then that I learned there was an app that allowed me to monitor my system. During that same visit, the technician determined that my microinverters needed to be replaced. The replacement microinverters were shipped to my home, and the technician returned to pick them up for installation. However, the work was never completed. The technician left with the new equipment and never returned to finish the job. Despite additional attempts to follow up, I was once again left without answers or a resolution. I understand that mistakes happen and that every company occasionally encounters challenges. However, this is no longer a matter of a simple mistake or a temporary inconvenience. This has been an unresolved issue for nearly a decade. My goal has never been to leave a negative review. My goal has always been to have the solar system I paid for perform as it was represented and to have the company stand behind its product and installation. Unfortunately, after almost ten years, thousands of dollars in unexpected utility costs, years of unanswered phone calls and emails, an incomplete repair, and two formal written requests that went unanswered, I have been left with no meaningful communication and no resolution. I sincerely hope this review encourages the company to finally contact me, complete the repairs that should have been completed years ago, thoroughly evaluate my system, determine why it has consistently failed to meet the promised production, and stand behind the product they sold me. I am writing to formally file a complaint against UniverCity Solar LLC, located at 242 East Airport…read moreDrive, San Bernardino, CA 92408, regarding unresolved roof damage, ongoing water intrusion, broken promises, and what I believe to be negligence and misrepresentation that dates back to 2022. UniverCity Solar has visited my home on two separate occasions over the past several years to address a roof leak that developed after the installation of their solar system. During those visits, their technicians identified cracked roof tiles as the cause of the leak, repaired those tiles, and sealed the affected areas. Despite these repairs, the roof leak continued. In January 2023, I communicated directly with Aaron, a representative of UniverCity Solar, who acknowledged the damage and promised that the company would repair the interior damage caused by the leak, including repainting the roof area stained by water intrusion. Aaron repeatedly delayed this work, citing a lack of available personnel, but reassured me multiple times that the repairs would be completed. At one point, he even stated that he intended to hire a professional painter to perform the work. Trusting these assurances, I waited in good faith for over a year, during which time no repairs were made. In late 2026, heavy rains resumed and caused additional damage, including deterioration to the drywall and window sill in my dining room--the same room originally affected by the roof leak. On December 3, 2026, UniverCity Solar sent Adam to inspect the roof. At that time, they claimed to have discovered damage to a board outside the solar panel areaand abruptly stated that they were no longer responsible for any repairs. This sudden reversal is unacceptable. Regardless of any newly identified issues, UniverCity Solar previously diagnosed the leak twice as being caused by cracked roof tiles, which they stated were responsible. I relied on their expertise and professional assessment. If their current claim is that the cracked tiles were not the cause, then the company is still responsible for misdiagnosing the issue on multiple occasions, which directly resulted in delayed corrective action and increased damage. Due to the age of the damage and the prolonged delays caused by UniverCity Solar, I am now unable to file a homeowners insurance claim, as the issue is no longer considered new damage. Their failure to correctly diagnose and permanently resolve the problem has directly hindered my ability to seek insurance coverage, resulting in financial harm. Additionally, I am deeply disappointed to learn that Tim, the salesperson who sold me UniverCity Solar's services, misrepresented the company's roofing credentials. I was told that UniverCity Solar carried a full roofing license, only to be informed later by Aaron that they carry only a limited roofing license. This discrepancy further undermines my trust in the company. I am especially disheartened by this treatment given that I have provided over three referrals to UniverCity Solar, all of whom became paying customers. This level of neglect and refusal to honor written and texted commitments--copies of which I possess--is unacceptable and does not reflect the service that was promised to me. At this point, I am unsatisfied and disappointed with UniverCity Solar's conduct and believe their actions constitute negligence and potential malpractice. I set the appointment the week before and noted that it was a holiday. The woman and I questioned if it was actually going to happen so she checked and came back with yes. On that same call, she put in that it was kind of a rush because I had to satisfy an insurance issue. I was called on 8/31 by a woman from Semper Solaris and they re-confirmed with me that they would be there on 9/1. Because I called the main number I am not sure which office was to be here for the appointment. Long story short the representative never showed up. I then called on 9/2 to see about a reschedule, as I did not want to impact my solar panels originally installed. They apologized for the rep who did not show up (still do not know who that was supposed to be) and told me they had 2, 3 or 5 available. I said 2 or 3 and I could not do 5pm. They said they would call me right back. About an hour or so later, I received the call back and they only had 5... The next available was not next week. I said never mind because I have a time crunch to try to get the roof replaced for insurance reasons. Today is 9/3 - I was called by Semper Solaris who now wanted to reschedule with me. The earliest date is now 9/11. How did going from It is a sort of emergency and we will see you on Monday 9/1 to now 10 days later. This is not the first issue with this company. We had 30 panels across 4 separate arrays with heavy nesting and an old chicken wire setup that a previous guy had improperly nailed straight into the roof. Bernardo worked through brutal summer heat, stripped off all the old wire, meticulously filled in all the nail holes with sealant to prevent water damage, cleared out all the nasty debris underneath, and installed the new 17-gauge mesh with proper clips. It ended up taking much longer than a standard job due to how bad the mess was, but Bernardo communicated everything clearly, stayed transparent on the extra time needed, and didn't cut a single corner. The panels look spotless and the roof is finally protected the right way. Huge thanks to Reuben and Bernardo!

I have had 0 issues with the quality of the products and work performed. I now have need adjust my system to some degree. I have had a number of the solar parasites that crawl through our neighborhoods with their tablets skate boards and electric bicycles. Everyone of these companies gave me a recommendation and cost that is simply ridiculous. The practicality and logic of these systems just does not make sense. I Called David and he got back to me very quickly. He came to my home and did a thorough analysis of my needs and provided a cost efficient solution that others just did not want to do.
