Update. I'm still decently happy with the service, but their project timeline estimates are way off. They have 3-5 weeks for "Project permitting & interconnection process" permits from NYC DOB took about 4 weeks, and I was just informed that Queens County could take as much as 5 additional weeks. I understand that it's not Seabright's fault, but their estimates should be based on reality. Additionally, they have an app that is supposed to update as the steps progress, but it hasn't updated since the beginning. I will update as the project continues

I have had the worst experience ever with this company. It all started when I decided I wanted to add more panels to my existing 5 panel system. I met with the sales guy all was great and I wanted to stay with SunPower so based on a recommendation I went with this company. I got my system installed in January of 2022 and that's when things went south. They installed my new system in December of 2021. First the installer took my old monitoring box leaving my five panels offline and them scrambling to try and find another box to bring my old system back online. At the recommendation of SunPower I ask to see panel visibility. Sea Bright staff Helene says no, because they don't want both systems showing production because it's innacurate so I'm left unable to see panel production. Then in February of 2022 they finally brought my old system back by installing a box and all was well. Or so I thought. Fast forward to December of 2022 when I get a hefty $1,600 bill from Edison. I get in touch with Sunpower and they tell me to call the installer, SeaBright. I call the Redlands office and they promise to get back to me and nothing. Then I call the sales guy and he gets me in touch with Gina who promises me to call me back that week. No call. I call her twice, she's always busy. They end up sending someone out to check my system to find that half of my panels were not working due to a loose connection since Feb 2021. I keep calling and I'm told to send Bill the bills. He never responds, I keep calling Gina but she is busy, in meetings or away for the day or so I'm being told. After two or three calls I finally end up getting transferred to Terry, he says email me the bills. I send them over. He claims Bill will get back to me, nothing. I follow up three times with Terry, nothing. I start calling, texting the sales guy and all I get is promises but no resolution. It's mid March. I am out $1600 plus all the credits I lost in producing electricity for a whole year. No one gets back to me, all I get is we will resolve this this week for 10 weeks and counting. I have opened a claim with SunPower but they are telling me it's installer error therfore installer responsibility. I'm at my wits end. Oh and finally someone allowed me to see panel production after they reconnected the panels. In February alone I'm already up almost $200 in credits. I lost year one of production, its all downhill from here. If you want to prevent heartburn stay away from this company because if things go wrong then you will not hear from them.

I am writing to formally file a complaint against UniverCity Solar LLC, located at 242 East Airport…read moreDrive, San Bernardino, CA 92408, regarding unresolved roof damage, ongoing water intrusion, broken promises, and what I believe to be negligence and misrepresentation that dates back to 2022. UniverCity Solar has visited my home on two separate occasions over the past several years to address a roof leak that developed after the installation of their solar system. During those visits, their technicians identified cracked roof tiles as the cause of the leak, repaired those tiles, and sealed the affected areas. Despite these repairs, the roof leak continued. In January 2023, I communicated directly with Aaron, a representative of UniverCity Solar, who acknowledged the damage and promised that the company would repair the interior damage caused by the leak, including repainting the roof area stained by water intrusion. Aaron repeatedly delayed this work, citing a lack of available personnel, but reassured me multiple times that the repairs would be completed. At one point, he even stated that he intended to hire a professional painter to perform the work. Trusting these assurances, I waited in good faith for over a year, during which time no repairs were made. In late 2026, heavy rains resumed and caused additional damage, including deterioration to the drywall and window sill in my dining room--the same room originally affected by the roof leak. On December 3, 2026, UniverCity Solar sent Adam to inspect the roof. At that time, they claimed to have discovered damage to a board outside the solar panel areaand abruptly stated that they were no longer responsible for any repairs. This sudden reversal is unacceptable. Regardless of any newly identified issues, UniverCity Solar previously diagnosed the leak twice as being caused by cracked roof tiles, which they stated were responsible. I relied on their expertise and professional assessment. If their current claim is that the cracked tiles were not the cause, then the company is still responsible for misdiagnosing the issue on multiple occasions, which directly resulted in delayed corrective action and increased damage. Due to the age of the damage and the prolonged delays caused by UniverCity Solar, I am now unable to file a homeowners insurance claim, as the issue is no longer considered new damage. Their failure to correctly diagnose and permanently resolve the problem has directly hindered my ability to seek insurance coverage, resulting in financial harm. Additionally, I am deeply disappointed to learn that Tim, the salesperson who sold me UniverCity Solar's services, misrepresented the company's roofing credentials. I was told that UniverCity Solar carried a full roofing license, only to be informed later by Aaron that they carry only a limited roofing license. This discrepancy further undermines my trust in the company. I am especially disheartened by this treatment given that I have provided over three referrals to UniverCity Solar, all of whom became paying customers. This level of neglect and refusal to honor written and texted commitments--copies of which I possess--is unacceptable and does not reflect the service that was promised to me. At this point, I am unsatisfied and disappointed with UniverCity Solar's conduct and believe their actions constitute negligence and potential malpractice. I am requesting that UniverCity Solar be held accountable for: * Honoring their written and verbal commitments * Repairing the interior and exterior damage caused by the roof leak * Addressing the ongoing water intrusion issue in full I processed additional complaints to the Federal Trade Commission report number 195345513 and the Better Business Bureau under the Pacific Southwest, Central & Inland California division.

I set the appointment the week before and noted that it was a holiday. The woman and I questioned if it was actually going to happen so she checked and came back with yes. On that same call, she put in that it was kind of a rush because I had to satisfy an insurance issue. I was called on 8/31 by a woman from Semper Solaris and they re-confirmed with me that they would be there on 9/1. Because I called the main number I am not sure which office was to be here for the appointment. Long story short the representative never showed up. I then called on 9/2 to see about a reschedule, as I did not want to impact my solar panels originally installed. They apologized for the rep who did not show up (still do not know who that was supposed to be) and told me they had 2, 3 or 5 available. I said 2 or 3 and I could not do 5pm. They said they would call me right back. About an hour or so later, I received the call back and they only had 5... The next available was not next week. I said never mind because I have a time crunch to try to get the roof replaced for insurance reasons. Today is 9/3 - I was called by Semper Solaris who now wanted to reschedule with me. The earliest date is now 9/11. How did going from It is a sort of emergency and we will see you on Monday 9/1 to now 10 days later. This is not the first issue with this company. I wish you all the best if you choose this. This message will self destruct if this issue gets worked out :). Have a nice day.

Our first conversation with NetZero was with Donny, and while it was helpful, we decided to pause and keep learning. After doing more homework and later reconnecting with Nilda and Bobby, the experience felt very different. They took the time to answer questions in plain language, walked through realistic expectations, and never tried to rush us into a decision. After we decided to move forward, the process was handled professionally from start to finish. Nick helped dial in the system design and made sure everything made sense for our home, and Mark oversaw the install side and kept things moving smoothly. The crew showed up when they said they would, treated our home with care, and cleaned up at the end of each day, which we really appreciated. Permitting and inspections were handled by the team and communicated the steps along the way. There were no surprises. Kelly was especially helpful keeping us in the loop and responding quickly whenever we had questions, which made the whole process feel far less stressful than we expected going in. Overall, NetZero Energy felt like a company that values doing things the right way and standing behind their work. We are happy with the install, the communication, and the end result, and would feel comfortable recommending them to friends or family who are considering solar.
