However, when we got our consultation, Nick shared with us how the layout would be not only ergonomically friendly, but safe for our ever curious and crawling 11 month old. We were concerned specifically with a grated drain that is directly under our deck that infamously would get clogged with leaves and cause major rainwater back-up, and Nick created a seamless design that we could get to the drain to clean it occasionally without crawling under the deck anymore! What a relief! The overall installation is clean and meticulously done. The level of noise and disturbance is completely unacceptable. Weekends are when residents should be able to rest and enjoy some peace in their own homes, not be forced to listen to banging, drilling, machinery, and construction noise because a contractor chooses to disregard the surrounding community. What is especially frustrating is the complete lack of consideration. A responsible and professional company should understand that working in a residential neighborhood requires basic courtesy, reasonable scheduling, and respect for nearby families. Vicny Iron Work has demonstrated the exact opposite. Their behavior comes across as arrogant, inconsiderate, and deeply unprofessional. It gives the impression that as long as they can complete their job, they simply do not care how much disruption they create for everyone else. This company has made an extremely negative impression on me. I would be very hesitant to recommend Vicny Iron Work to anyone, especially for work in a residential neighborhood. Working with the entire team at VanDeck was an amazing experience start to finish…read more I reached out to Vandeck in February and received a follow up call almost immediately. Andriy came to our house a few day after we spoke and measured the space. From there he drew up a design based on the details I had asked for. After he shared the design with us we met again (on the phone) and reviewed some changes we wanted to see in the plans. He was so prompt with updating the visuals I was honestly in awe. After we came to an agreement on design and were given the quote we signed the contract. We opted to pay for the deck in installments which made it much easier for us to move forward with. The team was able to start on our deck about 2 weeks after the contract was signed. It was still winter so weather had prevented them from starting sooner. I also believe our timing was perfect because we were able to get our deck in before the summer rush. The team who built the deck were amazing(Gamlet and Levan). They were so kind, the cleaned up after themselves (they had to bring all of the supplies through our basement as there is no yard access). I felt like the back yard looked cleaner when they were done than it had when they started. The earthquake in NYC hit about a week after the deck was complete and I noticed that one of the posts on our pergola needed longer screws. Other than that there was zero impact on the deck from the earthquake it is so strong and sturdy. I reached out to Andriy and he had the guys over within a day or two to add some additional screws for support. Overall it was an amazing experience working with the Vandeck team and I would absolutely recommend them. If we ever move to a new home I can promise that they will be one of the first calls I make.
