Edilene came over for a quote, and we discussed waxing my newfound (under carpet for 50 years!) hardwood floors. On the agreed upon day, Edilene's crew came over. The hardwoods looked spectacular - I didn't even have to sand them! The ancient linoleum in my bathrooms GLEAMED! You can see your reflection in the floors for Pete's sake. Edilene's team of 2 women did some things very well as part of their deep cleaning, and they did one careless thing that damaged a family heirloom. The team did an amazing job on our kitchen floor. I hadn't thought it was possible to get it to look as good as it did after they finished. The team generally did a good job on other things, so I gave both cleaners a cash tip when they left. However, the team's carelessness damaged--and they hid the damage to--a vintage table that my late mother had refinished for me. After the team left, I removed a mat that the cleaners had placed in a new spot. Underneath, I found a whitish stain in the shape of the bottom of a cleaning-supply bottle. I told Edilene on June 7. She sent her cleaners over to try to fix it by applying Orange-Glo to it, but that did not fix it. Then, she offered to have her brother come over to sand and paint it. However, the table actually needs to be stained by a professional. I contacted Edilene's insurance company. The person there told me that her company is not covered for damage done during the course of its work. I then contacted a furniture restorer with a photograph for an estimate of the cost to fix the table. On June 20, I contacted Edilene with the furniture restorer's estimate to see if she would pay for the fix. On July 1, she said she would pay me to have the damage fixed. As of July 22, she had not paid me despite my repeated text message exchanges with her.

Review of Outstanding Cleaning (Veronice Biscalquim, 617-368-0067,…read moreoutstandingcleaninginc@gmail.com, based in Somerville, https://www.wewillcleanit.net/ ): We have an important, big family event coming up and because my mother fell unexpectedly ill, we ran out of time to clean before guests arrive. We had used Outstanding Cleaning before when I was undergoing cancer treatment. They did it at no charge, and did such a good job, during that time! So, I definitely wanted to give them the business again. As before, Veronice sent three extremely efficient, thorough workers who were both friendly and very responsive to our needs. Because of our situation, we didn't have time to tidy up entirely before the crew arrived. They worked alongside us, as we tidied up another room! Partway through, they consulted with Veronice, and with her approval, they went the extra mile to do deep cleaning, giving extra time because it was needed. We are extremely pleased with the results, which are like night and day. Everything sparkles! Veronice is very responsive to client needs on cleaning and timing. Her rates are very reasonable and she is extremely fair. Her workers are honest and gracious and reflect the protocol she sets. I would highly recommend this cleaning company.

I reached out to explain the situation to the owner, who quoted the job sight-unseen at a fair price for a deep clean, including the inside of the fridge, inside of the oven, and all of the bits listed on the web site. She patiently listened to what I needed and she estimated 3.5 hours. The two person crew came (the next day!) and enthusiastically got to work. While I would expect them to stop after hitting the estimated hours, they fervently continued until the job was done. The house had never been this clean. Great attention to detail on the dusting and cleaning of every surface, and an apology for "taking too long." I was impressed withe the professionalism and quality of the work. They have gently reminded us that they are available for regular cleaning, but I just can't afford that right now. If I could, I would. She followed up to make sure I was satisfied, and I was. Given the uneven reviews here, I thought I would add my voice. I like supporting small, local businesses and I'm happy with the high quality, fair price, and dedication to craft.

As advertised on their website, and not performed: they didn't empty the trash bins they did a spotty job on the baseboards (even after I specifically mentioned this in the estimate visit) they didn't clean all the windows, if any the ceiling fans weren't dusted And the cleaning that they did do wasn't thorough- I found pieces of dust under furniture and on counters, and they didn't wipe down all the furniture. On top of it, they broke our kitchen trash bin spring top, and didn't say anything about it. They were also late, which wouldn't have been a big deal except they kept changing just *how* late they were going to be via text. Will not be repeating, and do not recommend.

I am very pleased with the level of cleanliness and attention to detail. Marli is very responsive to text and can fit me in her schedule within a few days notice. Two weeks after my service, I received a text message from Marli asking for me to pay her. I thought it was a mistake as I already did pay for a cleaning service I had two weeks ago immediately after the completion of the service. I had confirmed with the 3 cleaners that day that the amount I paid was the correct amount and also gave them a generous tip on top of the price of the service. On Venmo, the cleaners liked my payment and thanked me. I adhered to what I thought was my end of the bargain. Marli proceeds to tell me that the price is per cleaner per hour which is not what was originally communicated to me on the phone. The whole conversation was very odd and confusing considering it was two weeks after the service and I thought I already paid generously based on what original price that was communicated. The rest of the conversation was unprofessional with her accusing me of things I never said, such as that I told the cleaners I was going to Venmo her directly the additional amount owed. I never said that and I was just trying to understand what the heck was going on and not feel like I was being taken advantage of or being confused with another customer. She also made a comment about her workers needing the money more than I did which I thought was completely out of line. If you use Marli's cleaning service, I highly recommend you get it in writing how much is being quoted so there in no question what's being charged and no wildly unprofessional accusations. It seems like they do work under the radar on weekends and try not to keep any paper trails of transactions. It was all very shady. It wasn't about the money as I went on to Venmo the additional amount Marli claimed I owed. What upset me was how I was treated and the accusations made. I will be setting up frequent cleanings going forward but just not with this company.
