I adore doctor Castro and all of her staff. I have being taking my son since birth and he is 7 years old now. She is THE MOST knowledgable doctor in all Miami. No doubt about it. Yes, you would have to wait a very long time to see her and you might see a PA and although I had my reservations with the idea, they are as knowledgable as Doctor Castro because they have being trained by her. Ultimately for me it comes down to this: Immediate attention =emergency room Regular predictable fever = handle at home Sick beyond ibuprofen = call Dr. Castro and wait a lifetime if I have to, because I know the 2 minutes she will see my son, she will have the answer. read more

You have to wait at list 2 to 3 hours to be seen. The receptionist is so rude. They schedule too many patients. Really bad organization.

I went there for blood test and her nurse didn't know how to do it but he was very nice. He mentioned to me me that he is a doctor from CUBA. He inserted the IV catheter vertically from the naked needle to the patient bed. I guess he had no place to hold it or they were short on Iv catheter. I was scared for my life and getting sick. Then he looked for my veins. After he found a vein, he took off the naked needle from the patient's bed and inserted in to my vein. I was scared and speechless. Dr Castro husband teach ethics at the university I used to attend. Perhaps he can lecture his wife staff on medical ethics because what I witnessed was one of the most unethical medical events. Thank GOD I had my tetanus vaccine. Besides this incident, their receptionist was very loud and rude. I left her office with bruises and concerned about my health. read more

My twins have been a patient of dr Castro for 2 years (since they were born ) and I can only talk wonders. The staff and dr are amazing they are always willing to help you in any way . I love that for anything I may call they will try to guide me first if its not an emergency . They don't make you go to the office just to go. Dr Castro May be late on seeing you and you may have to wait but is worth it because she takes every single minute to check every part of your children's body from head to toe. Keep on line office tends to be busy so they can't just make magic and always have availability but they work with you to fit you in. read more

I have been calling this office for literally over a year because I was recommended to this doctor. Unfortunately, my Daugther has united healthcare community plan and the doctor is refusing new patients. At first I thought this was something temporary but based on what the receptionist stated they will never get new patients that have Medicaid. Might as well answer the phone and say "We don't accept poor people here" I called my insurance and they checked and this doctor is in network and can't refuse new patients just because she doesn't want to take an specific insurance. I Called the office back to let them know and the receptionist was extremely rude and said that she didn't care if I reported the doctor her specific words were " Oh well whatever" and she hang up on me. The staff is very unprofessional and unethical. This is discrimination and I won't tolerate it. read more

Excellent doctor and if you have plenty of time to make hours of phone calls and emails and voicemails to try and get an appointment then she's a great doctor. It took me a week of trying at various times to get someone to answer and get an appointment. The last straw came before my daughter's appointment sitting in the office for a good 60 minutes while I saw other patients from other doctors in the office come and go until I asked the receptionist if we were forgotten about. She said there is no room yet for us, though our appointment was one hour before!! When I asked her when would a room be ready she just shrugged her shoulders!! And then I said "and then I'll have to wait probably wait another good hour or so to even be seen by the doctor" and the receptionist just nodded. My daughters have been coming to this doctor since they were babies - one is 11 and the other is 18 and I put up with it because she's a great doctor but it's gotten so much worse - that I've literally had it! I left and will be looking for another pediatrician who has better control of schedules. read more

At the recommendation of a friend of my husband's, we chose Dr. Castro as our daughter's pediatrician, she was great at coming to see my daughter in the hospital and as first time parents my husband and I had a million questions every visit and she and her staff were very patient with all of our questions. My daughter had reflux and they were not hesitant to prescribe her with the meds I knew she needed. I am a very picky and nervous first time Mom and I must say that the staff and the Dr's have all made me feel at ease in all our visits. I like the fact that they have a separate room for sick kids, this was very reassuring since I was freaked out about germs when my daughter was very little. The staff never seems grumpy like in other Dr's offices I have visited. As far as someone who commented that Dr. Castro views this as a business, I beg to differ from personal experience, she is very understanding when it comes to patients who have to pay out of pocket, in my experience she was very accommodating. I would have given Dr. Castro 5 stars if it were not for the wait time, but then again it justifies that they are in demand, I mean would you go to an empty restaurant? read more

It's unfortunate that any place of business would even comment on your marital status or any similar personal situation, but that is the type of unprofessionalism that can be found at Dr. Castro's office. I'm not saying she is a bad doctor, she is good at what she does, but her staff is just impossible to deal with. My first visit there with my newborn baby, after having been released from the hospital only a few days prior, I got yelled at by the girl at the front desk for not adding my child to my insurance. I had been told at the hospital that I had 30 days to do so, and that my baby was covered. They had absolutely no regard for the fact that I had just been released from the hospital, just had major surgery and severe health complications at the end of my pregnancy, from which I could have died. I explained all of this to everyone in the office and was forced to pay for the visit out of pocket anyway, which was like $130. I should have taken that as my warning and left that office running, because it just got worse from there. Thank God, my baby has been healthy, but when I called once about a minor issue I wanted to speak to the doctor about, I had to call 5 times, each time speaking with people who could not help me and only got to speak with the doctor after demanding it and saying I would switch doctors if she could not be reached. I need a doctor who is going to be there when my child is sick. It was a week day, several weekdays actually, when I was trying to reach her. By the time she actually called me back, I had done plenty of research and fixed the problem myself. I have never been out of that office in less than 3 hours, and that is well baby visits, with an appointment. The last time we were there, we were scheduled with a completely different doctor I had never met. For every visit I specifically requested Dr. Castro, (you HAVE TO INSIST or they will schedule you with an ARNP) since my baby rarely went to the doctor, I wanted him to see his own doctor. But we were scheduled on a day that she did not work, which then led to my child getting vaccines with a new nurse who did not know what she was doing and REALLY hurt him. I reported it to the new doctor and she said that nurse had just been hired and she would check up on her work and make sure it was being done correctly. I would hate for any other child to have to go through what my baby did. I emailed Dr. Castro explaining to her everything that happened and that we would be switching to another doctor. I thanked her for all of her care with my baby and explained she wasn't the reason we were leaving, but everything else that has happened. I never received a response. However, when I recently went to pick up my child's records to take them to the new doctor, she was petty enough to make me pay $1 per page. I paid it, because I needed the records for his appointment, but it just confirms that I definitely made the right decision switching practices. read more

In response to Willy N. review its emabarrasing to me to even have to address this and address myself as the ex-wife he speaks of. But I feel the need to do so because Dr. Adriana Castro is an excellent docor who is able to see my daughter if she is ever sick at any point of time. Who helps me with all my concerns and has a staff who makes it very easy to bring my daughter in if i ever need to even if its that same day. I feel that if someone writes a review it should be honest and state facts. Dr. Castro has been seeing my now 6 year old daughter since the day she was born. The reason I chose doctor castro is because I know how great of a pediatrician she is and I have 2 nephews one who is 14 years old and the other is 6 years old and 3 nieces( 8, 6, and 4 years old ) who have been seeing doctor castro since they were in diapers. Dr. Castro is the most patient pediatrician I've ever met and takes her time with us in each and every appointment we have. My daughters allergies have been well taken care of by the treatments and recommendations of Doctor Castro. And she will continue to be my daughters pediatrician cause she really is the best out there. read more
