Picking a pediatrician was hard. Everyone has "the best pediatrician ever!" but then when you start looking into them, you realize they don't take your insurance, or they are great but you have to wait over 2 hours every time, or there's only one doctor, or the doctor is close to retirement, or its in BFE etc.
So I made it my mission to find someone who would be the perfect fit.
My criteria was:
1. They had to be within 20 minute driving distance in case of a last minute appointment.
2. More than one (good) doctor in the practice in case of vacations, retirements, etc.
3. Separate sick waiting room
4. Perfect balance of old school/new school
5. Great staff.
Kendall Pediatric Partners meets and exceeds all criteria.
They are conveniently located in a place with PLENTY of parking. They have extended hours and work on Saturdays too, so making an appointment is easy, even last minute. I have called them at 9 am and gotten an appointment for 10 am!
They have a 24 hour hotline. You call, leave a message and a doctor gets back to you as soon as possible, often within minutes!
My daughter was born prematurely and spend a couple of weeks in NICU. The first night home was scary. (Why didn't anyone tell me babies made so much noise at night?!?!) I called them at 4 am and got a call back right away. When I said " she is making all these weird sounds...." They knew exactly what sounds they were and reassured me it was normal.
I have seen all the 3 doctors at the practice and it's hard to decide who I like more.
Dr. Siblesz was who we interviewed originally. She is a no-nonsense doctor, very to the point and professional. I like her honesty and how straight forward she is with all her answers. Her approach to medicine matched my idea of the perfect doctor, which is why we picked the practice after meeting her.
Dr. Olavarrieta is so sweet and delicate. She takes her time explaining everything. I love her energy, it is super soothing and she knows how to calm me down. Not going to lie, when my daughter went for her 3 month check up and she told me "Good job mom and dad! She looks great!!" I almost cried. She knew how much I needed that reassurance that I was doing a good job.
Dr. Llosa is an older gentlemen and you can just tell he has seen it all and has a solution for it. He was great with baby but my favorite thing is that he is a facts guy. He tells you percentages and probabilities, recent studies and professional experience. He knows his stuff!
The other review on here is the reason I found this place and I am so grateful. For me, the hardest part of being a new mom is realizing how little I know. Being vulnerable isn't my strong suit, so it is nice to be able to go online and find reviews from people who have already been there.
