I began seeing Dr. Pop for Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD), as he provides IPL. After spending about $1500 for four sessions, I didn't notice any relief. After speaking to my Ophthamologist, it became painfully clear as to why: The gold standard for treating MGD is to heat the glands and their surrounding tissues, with a technology like IPL, AND TO PHYSICALLY EXPRESS THEM IMMEDIATELY AFTERWARDS. Not only did he not do that, but he takes no part in the IPL procedure; Not that it would make a difference (This guy is incompetent and is happy in taking people's money while providing subpar treatments. read more

I've been getting regular eye exams for years now and have always looked up great optometrists and facilities to go to but this was by far the most amazing practice. From the design to the hospitality of the front desk and Dr Pop himself! My daughter, had years of eye issues, which became serious her senior year in university. I made an appointment with an eye doctor at UCI's Gavin Herbert Eye Institute. After a long set of examinations, the doctor diagnosed her with a specific condition that none other had. Following that, the doctor recommended us to Dr. Pop, as he specialized in her type of eye condition. Dr. Pop performed eye tests and examinations and took a course previous doctors didn't even know about. He explained the problems in clear way, and what course of action was required, and the expected outcomes. Following this, my daughter's plan was completed last week, with great success to-date. Dr. Pop is a bit of perfectionist, which is to his patient's benefit, and is deeply committed to their eye health. His technology is advanced, and you won't likely see this in other offices. His staff was very helpful and caring, and were prompt in answering any method of communication. Do you work solely on computers everyday? Do you wear corrective lenses and still get headaches? I mean the gnarly kind that are completely unbearable and knock you right on your toosh?!? So do I! ...at least I did before I went to see Dr. Pop and his amazing crew. I was recommended to Dr. Pop by an ENT specialist as we found out my sinuses were not causing my migraine headaches. Luckily for me, Dr. Pop was in the midst of running a study for a special lens. He did all sorts of cool eye tests and questionnaires to find out where I was at with my vision. During the study, I was to use a set of lenses for about 37ish days and then returned for more testing. I had my lenses switched out and had to use them for another 37ish days before returning for more tests. I was not told which of the lenses were the special lens which are actually called Neurolens. With the first set of lenses, I noticed an improvement in my vision and decrease in the intensity of headaches. I was able to do more things after work in my personal life without wanting to just sleep off a headache and neckache.. With the second set I was given, I immediately noticed a difference. I started getting my headaches again along with other symptoms. I would literally have to keep my self from falling asleep at my desk at work. At the end of the study, I got to choose which ones I like better not knowing for sure which of the two were the Neurolens. Well, due to my symptoms immediately returning I guessed which of the 2 sets were the actual Neurolens and I found out that I was correct. It was the 1st set in my case as I suspected. I had an amazing experience at this facility! The crew was also very nice and so helpful. These ladies took their time to help me pick the perfect frame for my awesome new Neurolens corrective lenses. I am so happy with my frames that I don't mind having them on my face all the time as should be with any great pair of lenses. Thank you all so much! I'm pretty unhappy with this place. Brought in a brand new pair of high quality sunglasses by Oliver Peoples. Never worn - straight from Oliver Peoples. Every rich person on Earth owns a pair. I paid ~$550 for the frames. Wanted prescription lenses. Picked out the very best lenses on offer at Pop Adrian V's office. After two weeks I pick up the sunglasses and they're fine. A week later after a cross country move from OC to Florida, the right lense pops out. I have to take them to a local repair shop, of course because I want them fixed now. They put the lense back and tighten them up but let me know that the sunglasses may need more extensive repairs. The lense wasn't quite cut right, the screw on the glasses had been thrashed and stripped during lense install (???!!!). Today i dropped them off at another repair shop to have the holes redrilled and new screws installed and the lense trimmed. After paying $550 for the frame, $308 for my part of the lenses - my insurance company paid the other some ~$500 part of the lenses. Ridiculous imo insurance gouging btw - this is why healthcare costs in this country are the joke of the world. Yeah it's been just great dealing with the crummy workmanship. Most people expect a roughly $1350 pair of sunglasses to hold up for a week. ‍ Btw I had new lenses installed into two pair of glasses just two weeks before this at either private eyes or Orange circle down the street - I can't remember. They took too long so I didn't go back for the third, but two set of eyeglass lenses from them cost ~$500 and the regular glasses were progressive. The expensive kind of new fangled progressive, no less. And the lenses have stayed put, can you believe it. So I'm not sure why the lenses at this place are so ridiculous. read more

As someone who has been suffering from headaches for years, I have first-hand experience with how much headaches can detrimentally impact your life. Dr. Pop provides the best medical examination for every individual person who walks through the door. He is a genuine doctor who wants the absolute best for your health. His speciality works with patients like myself who deal with headaches and motion sickness and tired eyes. The lenses are called "Neurolens" which deal with eye misalignment that can trigger symptoms such as, tired eyes, headaches, light sensitivity, motion sickness, neck tension, and dry eyes. All my life I dealt with motion sickness and vertigo and headaches. Riding in the car was always a nightmare and having vertigo attacks to the point of passing out was never a quality of life that anyone should ever deal with. Dr. Pop performed an extensive eye examination on me and discovered just like many others my eyes are not working together properly. I used Dr. Pop for several years and bought glasses/frames with no issues. But I went for my annual exam to update my prescription and I asked to simply update the lenses in frames that I had bought there the previous year. I had 'progressive' lenses for reading, and I asked for the same just with an updated prescription, but the glasses came back without 'progressive' lenses. The girl at the counter told me that my insurance wouldn't pay to have it corrected. I told her that insurance shouldn't be involved, their office made the mistake and should pay for the correction. She said it was my fault...so much for customer service. I was clear with what I had wanted and what I requested. I stated my case to her again while 2 other employees watched blankly. No one offered to help me or even apologize, so I walked out. I was quickly removed from their database because I no longer get their mailers or reminders, which is fine with me. Other members of my household continue to receive them, but we refuse to go back. This office is mostly concerned about insurance coverage. Their hours are inconvenient for working people. No appointments after 6pm and no weekends. There are other more service-oriented optometrists in the area. read more

This doctor didn't get my prescription right but insisted "your brain just needs to adjust". It didn't and my old glasses did much better. I called VSP to get it straightened out with a new exam. Then he claimed my BP must be out of whack. Gee my MD doesn't think so! His staff was poor as well. One woman broke my new glasses trying to 'adjust' them into focus and the young woman insisted on showing my every pair of glasses in the place and would NOT leave my choices in view. The glasses cost me a fortune and I will never go there again! read more
