I've seen Dr Rawlinson for cortisone injections in my shoulder. He's the best. Incredible bedside manner, really made me feel at ease and comfortable. read more

Good doctor . I wish I can go to him to consult my ache ( perhaps scoliosis) . I and my wife sees him whenever we have problem

I saw Dr. Rawlinson via a Telemedicine appointment. I was experiencing knee pain, and I had seen other doctors who were unable to give me an accurate diagnosis. Dr. Rawlinson provided me with a proper diagnosis and discussed my treatment options thoroughly. He ensured all of my questions and concerns were answered so that I had clarity on the nature of my condition and how best to approach treatment. He stayed engaged in my recovery, reaching out along the way to see how my rehab program was progressing. I am now fully recovered from my injury and back to playing tennis on a regular basis. If you have a sports-related injury, I highly recommend Dr. Rawlinson, and the docs at California Pacific Ortho--they are the best in the Bay Area! read more

Update! Can I give zero stars? I'll find out in a second. Negative stars? It turns out that I need surgery now. In fact I have a torn ligament and if it had been treated properly by the first doctor I saw - Rawlinson - and it had been stabilized as it should have been, that it would have healed on its own. This is the second time that I have seen someone from this office and the second time I've wound up seeing someone else later who had to cut me open because they could not BOTHER or were NOT KNOWLEDGEABLE enough to treat me properly. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

My appointment with Dr. Rawlinson was the most frustrating and least helpful experience that I've ever had with a doctor. I came to see Dr. Rawlinson with a fractured metacarpal (hand bone) on the advice of my primary care physician. He literally spent less than one minute in the room with me, didn't inquire into how my hand was feeling, and didn't bother to examine my hand (other than to briefly glance at it). After telling me that there was nothing to be done, he somewhat dramatically flung my x-rays onto the floor. Apparently the appointment was over. This didn't exactly inspire confidence in his opinion. An appointment with Dr. Rawlinson was not worth my $15 co-pay. read more

I'd been having low back pain for about a year when I decided it wasn't going to "just go away". The first doctor I saw told me to just start taking a lot of advil, not a solution I was willing to accept. I wanted a long term solution that didn't involve popping pills every day. I'm very active and didn't want to give up my sports, and I was determined to be pain free. I got Dr Rawlinson's name from a friend, who highly recommended him. He gave me hope that my back could improve with some physical therapy and took the time to explain the ins and outs of low back pain. Great bedside manner as well! read more

My sense is that Dr. Rawlinson does well with patients he can fix quickly, but if you have a long term issue he just doesn't have the patience for it. He only spent about 5 minutes with me, during which time he decided to do an MRI, refused to listen to anything I had to say, and chided me about my medication. He packed a whole lot of judgment into those few minutes! He seemed perfectly competent, but unwilling to dig any further. After 10 years of a degenerating spine, I've tried most everything. I needed more from him and won't be going back. read more

I have been a patient of Dr Adrian Rawlinson for the past few months and he is one of the most pleasant, kindest, patient doctor I know. He makes the time knowing you and get right down to the point of your problem, no sugar coating. I feel very comfortable with him and his professionalism and would recommend him to everyone who has a muscle skeletal problem. Keep up the good work Doc!!! Love the accent too ;-) read more

I've taken both my kids to see Dr Rawlinson and found him to be incredibly competent, knowledgeable and a great first line of treatment for sports related injuries. All my weekend warrior friends start their injury treatments with Dr Rawlinson. He also has a direct line to the best surgeons in town when needed. read more

I was fortunate to see Dr. Rawlinson on very short notice and while he is not in my network, I had a pretty serious hand injury that I wanted to check out. After a brief exam, he sent me up to xray and I found out that nothing was broken but he was concerned about a torn ligament and scheduled a follow up with a hand specialist (Dr. Green). I have a lot of experience with Sports Medicine being a former athlete and I have no problem when I doctor wants to send me to someone who only focus's on one part of the body. He didn't prescribe me any meds which is surprising since usually I get loaded up with vic's and other fun stuff. I don't know his particular specialty but his decorum was professional and straight forward which I like. read more

I saw Dr Rawlinson on the advice of my doctor due to a strange lump on my tailbone. Dr Rawlinson was an extreme disappointment. First, he barely bothered to physically examine me. He said that my coccyx was normal after a very cursory feel (while I was standing up) and then he told me that I have something called coccyxdinia (sp?) which basically means "sore coccyx". He said it would go away after 1-2 years and I should sit on a round pillow. He acted surprised my doctor would even refer me, though she very clearly felt the lump, as did I. He was completely dismissive. He didn't even order an MRI. read more

I find dr Rawlinson to be very knowledgeable and take the time to explain pathology to pts.More importantly he is very respectful and takes pts seriously.Best thing that happened to that practice. He is a gem. read more

I went to Dr. Adrian Rawlinson about one month ago at Cal Pac Ortho in San Francisco for my shoulder. I've been having problems for months with my shoulder and I was referred Dr. Rawlinson. Dr. Rawlinson was very nice, helpful, and knew his stuff. He gave me an exercise regimen which I followed and my shoulder is starting to feel a lot better. Great doctor and tech savy in EMR. I would absolutely reccommend him to everyone. read more

Dr. Rawlinson is an exceptional doctor who has successfully treated several members of my family. He has seen both my wife and son for sports related injuries as well as treated my father for the past three years for osteoporosis and related issues. He is very talented in his field of expertise and a professional of the highest caliber. We have always found him to be very responsive, with quick turn around on questions and concerns as well as providing detailed and thoughtful explanations of possible causes of various ailments as well as the corresponding treatments and and therapies. Thank you for helping my family Dr. Rawlinson! read more

Dr. Rawlinson is knowledgeable, compassionate and professional. He took the time to conduct a thorough examination, discuss the possible treatments and answer all my questions. I really appreciated his recommendation to try physical therapy as a first step, and that he reached out to see if PT was helping. Highly recommend him! read more

I've struggled with chronic pain for a long time and have been bullied by many doctors. I went to see Dr. Rawlinson with great hope after ignoring my health for many years. Unfortunately, Dr. Rawlinson only spent about 5 minutes with me and only addressed one of my three complaints. Perhaps this is simply the way that medicine is practised these days, but I'm still in a great deal of pain and am tired of fighting for decent care. He was a perfectly nice person, but at no point did I feel like he was paying any actual attention to what I was saying. If you do go see him, make an appointment first thing and tell the front desk staff person to schedule you a longer appointment. I was only scheduled for 15 minutes for a first visit. read more

Dr. R was fine, he went through the standard motions for diagnosing my herniated disk (MRI, epidurals, PT, etc.). Nonetheless, I was a bit unnerved by the fact that his office kept insisting -- ADAMANTLY -- that he was "NOT a back specialist." That is, he "treats" backs, but he really doesn't want to make it his focus. Sounded kinda lukewarm to me, so I left him for a more dedicated surgeon. read more

weekend warriors be forewarned!!! his guy is a big waste of time--of course, he make you feel like you're wasting his time, and being a terrible bore. my wonderful dr (Milligan) referred me to him for a sports-related injury and let me tell you he couldn't have cared less about my pain/problem. I've been to Dr. Lesley Anderson, who is famous for having a terrible bedside manner, but she is incredibly competent, so who cares if she's not warm and fuzzy. Rawlingson, on the other hand, has an awful manner and no follow through. If he's so bored with other people's pain, why doesn't he go be a maitre d' at some pretentious restaurant... he'd fit right in there... read more

I have been having back pain for nearly 5 years. I was introduced to Dr. Rawlinson a few years ago when I just could not bear the pain anymore. When I met him he was so polite and straight to the point. I respect Drs more when they just quit beating around the bush and get to it. He not only told me what is going on with my back, HE EXPLAINED IT SO I WOULD UNDERSTAND IT. He recommended for me to go to physical therapy and I just could not believe as something as simple as that, I was feeling much better. I know I have to cut down on my work-outs but that is just stubborn me to do so. But as long as I have back pain I am definitly seeing Dr Adrian Rawlinson..... Keep up the good work!!!!!. read more

After being assured by the CPOSM receptionist that I was seeing a "shoulder specialist," I went to Dr. Rawlinson with excruciating shoulder pain following a fall two weeks before. After about five minutes of "push this - pull that," he dismissively blew off my request for an MRI (using his x-ray vision, I guess) and misdiagnosed it as a bruised rotator cuff. The physical therapy he prescribed produced no improvement, and after a four-week delay of the 4-6 he recommended, I got a second opinion. Even in the initial exam, she suspected a more serious injury, and immediately scheduled an MRI. It showed a complete rotator cuff tear with damage to the biceps tendon. Not only had Dr. Rawlinson's misdiagnosis delayed proper treatment for two painful weeks (and four more, had I completed his PT regimen unquestioningly), it could have closed the optimal window for the surgical repair I needed. I should have looked: nothing in his credentials on the CPOSM website indicates that he's had any specialization in shoulders, only in "nonsurgical musculoskeletal and sports medicine" problems--even when surgery is necessary, evidently. read more

Absolutely the worst orthopedic experience of my life. I fractured my growth plate a while ago and it healed but I was still having a lot of pain. I couldn't run around, or go up stairs, or jump without taking a bunch of advil. My two knees are obviously different because one bends to the side and backwards much more than the other. So all doctor Rawlinson tells me is it is probably just a bruise. Then says if it hurts don't do it. Then he was done. All the explanation I got. Well my knee still hurts and every time i go for a follow up all he says is if it hurts don't do it. If I followed that I wouldn't be able to stand up or move. He never gave me an explanation or anything. I am still insanely frustrated because I cannot walk around without taking 2 advil pills every few hours. He still fails to see what is wrong and doesn't even tell me what will help or how it can be fixed. He just tells me if it hurts don't do it. Worst experience ever. read more
