At my first appointment with Dr. Sharlip, I saw that he was a caring doctor. He took the time to explain the results from my blood diagnostics and the next step to be taken to ensure the diagnostic result was negative. He answered my questions and reassured me in the process that he is taking for me. Over the course of the next five months, Dr. Sharlip prescribed a 4K test and then a MRI, where the results were equivocal. He then prescribed and performed a fusion biopsy procedure on July 2nd. He said due to the upcoming holiday, the results would not come back until the following Monday. The doctor calls me the evening of the next day and wanted to tell me the good news that the results came back early and were negative so that I wouldn't worry over the holiday and weekend. I am fortunate to have been under Dr. Sharlip's care during this time. He showed the ultimate care of his patient as evidenced from his calls to me in the early evening and even on Saturday. I feel reassured that I will be under Dr. Sharlip's bi-annual care.

I could speak to him about everything he listened to all of my concerns and answered all my questions he made me feel comfortable about procedures and he was not judgemental . He took time with his patients . It was a very sad day when he told me he was retiring to this day I have yet to find a doctor to replace him. I had a sleep study conducted February 2019 and received my results when?....... DRUM ROLL...... THIS MORNING. I have been calling this office for months, it has been more than a year since my study was conducted. 1 year and 7 months to be exact. I needed these results to clear me for a surgical procedure that I need and it took them 1 year and 7 months to give me the results!?!!?? How is that possible!?!? This is beyond unprofessional. Everytime I called the Sutter Health number and got in touch with someone, they told me that they didn't see my test result information on their system. This was beyond frustrating as I needed this test for a procedure that I have to do. So because of this, the date of my procedure was put off.... 1 year and 7 months later!!!!! This morning I called (ONCE AGAIN!!!) and spoke to a lady who told me that she would search for my name. About 10-15 minutes later she calls me back and said that she found me in the system and that she would be in touch with my surgeons office to fax over the results. She also emailed the results to me. This all happened in a span of 30 minutes or less. I believe the lady's name is Luyen. So thank you Luyen, for doing something in 30 minutes that the rest of your colleagues could not do in the last 1 year and 7 months. Which was sending my results to my surgeons office for clearance. Seeing that it took her just under 30 minutes to figure this out and I had been calling for SOOO SOOO LONG, I just HAD to leave this result. On another note: it is almost impossible to get an appointment in a specific timeframe. His office is busy and overbooked (as you can see from some of the other reviews.) I had to wait more than 3 months for my appointment with him and then another year and 7 months for the results.

Dr. Rosenberg gets 2 stars because he didn't keep me waiting too long past my appointment time, and…read morehe did spend more than 10 minutes with me. Unfortunately, it didn't do any good. He treated me like a moron, didn't listen, and didn't solve my problem. So he only gets 2 stars. I was born with my right ureter through a muscle, which caused many kidney infections as a child. The local doctor misdiagnosed this as backwash. Luckily, my mom persevered and got a correct diagnosis and I was successfully operated on when I was 6. Last year (at 28), I had 3 kidney infections within 6 months. I thought this was a problem, so I starting the slow path through the insurance and doctoral hoops until I finally got to a urologist, who had a test done, which revealed that (surprise surprise) my right kidney had reduced functioning. He said this was likely due to scar tissue from the childhood operation, and could be fixed easily enough. Unfortunately, I moved to SF before we could get on with the fixing. The old urologist recommended Dr. Rosenberg here in SF, and I immediately made an appointment in hopes that we could start out where I had left off with other urologist. I brought with me my chart from the other urologist, including the results of the kidney function test. I wrote down my whole history in their "new patient" forms, and then told it all to Dr. Rosenberg. He pretended to listen, and then proceeded with the generally uncomfortable process of manually exploring my urinary tract. Below is a small excerpt of the frustrating conversation that ensued: Dr: It's probably backwash. Me: Actually, that is what I was misdiagnosed with as a child. Dr: Hmm. So, where's your scar? Me: On my lower abdomen. (Dr. examines scar on lower abdomen) Dr: Well, that is not where the scar should be, if the operation was what you said. It should be up here on your side. (Dr. proceeds to physically turn me and search for a scar on my side. Like there really might be a scar there that I had not noticed in the past quarter century. Like maybe I got a long thin scar on my lower abdomen through some other childhood scrape, like, I dunno, falling off a bike, and that distracted me from the REAL surgery scar on my side, unnoticed by me until the astute Dr. pointed it out.) Me: Um, no, I am sure I don't have a scar on my side. I don't know exactly how they did the operation, but I know it was my ureter through a muscle. Dr. (giving up on searching for the elusive side scar, but with no explanation as to the actual scar on my lower abdomen): Couldn't have been. It's probably backwash. If you have backwash, go to Dr. Rosenberg. For any other problem and/or for an actual doagnosis, go elsewhere. I am.

Dr. M's earliest appointment for me as a new patient was four months in advance, in early December, so I took it and waited. However, on the very morning when my appointment day finally arrived, her office called to say that she was ill and that I had to re-schedule my appointment--this time for a date a few weeks later. Some days before the date arrived, however, I was once again called by her office, this time to be told that the doctor had left the practice, and they had no idea where she had gone to. Since Michelle Malcolmson knew full well in advance that she was leaving Stanford Medical, she should never have allowed me to dangle for months under the mistaken impression that I was going to see her. By so doing, she caused me to waste much valuable time before I could see another other physician as a new patient. I call that irresponsible and heartless.
