Sausage pork rib rice
Joyce C.

First time at this restaurant. Decor is nice. They also have cakes and desserts which look good but didn't order them. We ordered sausage and pork rib with rice and mushroom and minced pork with rice. It took about 30min for the food to arrive which is slower compared to other Asian restaurants. The food is average and pricier ($15) for the portion you get. If you are a member it's $12. The owner (I think he is the owner) is friendly. Water bottles and packaged chopsticks were provided. The owner took his mask off a couple of times while we were there but after asking him to put his mask on, he did so. Really believe in supporting small businesses and wanted to like this place but it's unlikely we will be back tbh.

Chinese sausage meat cake hot pot rice

Environment: Rather clean and spacious but looks like they took over the reno from before (maybe?) as it doesn't match their style of cuisine. Their white leather chair already has blue stain from someone's jeans 7/10 Food: I like that fact that they have a outer pot for the hot pot rice so that the pot is not hot to touch. The hardness of the meat cake is just right and portion is just right. Rice is not overcooked (not too much burnt rice at the bottom of the pot). Taste 8.5/10 Service: Server was attentive and refilled our hot water regularly. 8/10 Pleasant experience and we will come back for more hot pot rice in the future :)

Adore Fusion specialized in Clay pot rice. The menu is simple with an order of rice with soup or pop from $9.99. The interior is nicely decorated for a claypot rice restaurant. Wait time for the food was long 20 to 25 minute even when the restaurant is not busy. (It would be good if the long waited time is stated in the menu as I do understand that each order us cooked when ordered.) I enjoyed my preserved sausage claypot rice. Ingredients is good quality and the portion is perfect. The rice was nice and crispy which is important as it is always the highlight of the meal. The seaweed soup though was meh. I might give them another try. A good option if you are in the area.

Taro is big but uncooked / hard ... and dry .

Ordered Taro Shave ice. The picture from their menu definitely looks "good" however The actually taste is far worst . There is no condensed milk. The some Taro were UNCooked hard and dry ! . The rice cake ingredient also taste hard ! Are you sure this is Taiwanese Shave ice ?? $16.95 wasted !!! My children said the same they will never come back again !! Do you know how frustrating is to give expectations to my children to have Taiwanese shave ice for very first time but turn out different way? Me, I have many times shave ice other stores !! Don't want to be rude but please go ahead and compare with TenRen !! Thanks

A2 Preserved Meat & Sausage with rice ($12.99)

I'd recommend coming to this restaurant if you want some good rice dishes. Coming in on Tues around 5:30pm, the restaurant wasn't packed so we immediately got a seat. The owners who were also our servers were very friendly and polite. The wife wanted to get our orders earlier as she was leaving soon and her husband wasn't very good in English (which i understand). My friend and I were taking photos of our food and they asked if we wanted a photo together too. They were very thoughtful as they brought us small bowls to share our rices and told us (also written on the menu) that itll take at least 20 mins to arrive. I ordered the A11 Mushroom & Minced pork with Rice ($9.99). The bowl was very big and I was surprised how generous the meat portion was as well. The pork was nicely soft, juicy, and didnt taste too salty at all. I couldn't finish my rice as the portions were big and only managed to finish almost half. My friend ordered A2 Preserved Meat & Sausage with rice ($12.99) was very satisfied with her dish as well. Definitely a "hidden" gem (as it wasn't as busy as other the other restaurants) that is worth trying :)

Ordered the "special" sausage clay pot rice with seaweed soup. Each clay pot rice is made from scratch hence the long wait. It probably took about 25 mins before we got our lunch. While we ate, we did get the piping hot seaweed soup which made the wait bearable. When the clay pot rice came, it was piping hot. I poured the soy sauce they provided us with and it was sizzling. The rice around the clay pot was nice and crispy and not burnt. Scrape the crispy rice off and mix it well yielding crunchiness in every bite. Overall it's pretty good. Value ain't bad for $9.99 where you get a decent meal. I wonder if it would make sense if they provided patrons with porcelain spoons instead of a metal one, because metal + clay pot heat = burning hot spoon.

Food- 2/5 Service- 2.5/5 Environment and Location- 3.5/5 Food was alright, had the chicken mushroom and spare rib DIY Clay Pot Combo. Had very high expectations, and hence, opinions could be skew as I was really hoping for a great place in the making that could have been, but was not. Wait times are alright for the food, 20-30 mins wait for a fresh batch of clay pot rice is normal and expected. However, service was lacking as there was only one person taking orders and bringing food out leading to multiple wait times for water as well as to order. Chicken and mushroom was probably not the best idea either, as there was quite a bit of bone and not enough meat on the order and hence, the image was not the greatest when it came out. Spareribs were pretty good, and maybe I will try something that maybe does not have bone during my next visit to the restaurant. Environment is pretty good as they are in a popular plaza and easy to reach with lots of seating and space so that you are comfortable. Overall, it was an okay experience, but will probably try the dish somewhere else before I come back to this place to give it a try.

Got the sausage and pork ribs rice and the beef rib rice. Both were delicious! Both ribs were very flavourful and not too tough. But the beef ribs were kind of too fatty in mu opinion. The rice has some flavour on its own too. Also tried the vegetarian option which is mushroom and veg. Very strong mushroom taste. I wish the meat rice bowls came with some veg too though

This is the best rice I have in uptown. The texture of the rice is perfect, every single one of the rice is tasty, 粒粒分明, the sweet soy sauce is good, and the best part is the burnt rice on the side. I'm not a burnt rice fan and in most cases I don't eat. However this place made it very crispy and the rice taste and smell so good! 飯焦又脆又香口,It's easy to scratch too. The portion of meat is more than most "bao zai rice" restaurant. It takes around 15min which is faster than most restaurants. The meat is very flavourable, taste like China. Most importantly I think this place is cheaper than most bao zai rice restaurants. They have daily special everyday. The lady (waitress) is very nice

The décor isn't fancy, but it's rich in cultural detail and warmth, perfectly matching the hearty, comforting style of Northeast Chinese cuisine. The space is unique and perfect for taking photos. The food here is very generous. We ordered the 4-person set with two side pots. Tomato Braised Beef Brisket and Chicken Stewed with Mushrooms and the portions were huge. Both pots arrived steaming hot and filled to the brim, clearly meant for sharing. The braised beef was rich and hearty, while the chicken pot was comforting and full of flavor, making it perfect for group dining or cold weather meals. Combined with the rustic, traditional décor, it really feels like authentic Northeast Chinese comfort food. The food and atmosphere were excellent, though the service was a bit lacking. I was hoping to find something special on the menu. The Peking duck caught my eye at around $70, but then I discovered that almost everything else was extra--lettuce wraps, stir-fried duck meat, fried rice, and soup. By the time you add the extras, the bill is easily another $50 or more, bringing the total to well over $120. We decided to pass, and judging from the dishes we did order, that was probably the right decision. The hot and sour soup had plenty of heat and tang but lacked depth of flavor and was under-seasoned for my taste. Fortunately, we only ordered a small bowl. The deep-fried tofu was bland and forgettable. The stir-fried shrimp was acceptable but nothing special. The biggest disappointment was the sweet and sour pork. I specifically asked the server to make sure the pork was crispy, but it arrived soft and lumpy rather than light and crunchy. Even the complimentary red bean dessert soup was watery and lacked flavor. Our bill came to about $104 for two people. For the quality of the food, I didn't feel it offered good value. Sadly, after several disappointing visits, I don't think we'll be returning.

He immediately insisted the portion was correct and rudely implied we just didn't want to pay for the lobster. Very disrespectful -- a stark contrast to the other servers, who were all polite. We've ordered this exact dish many times before and know what a proper portion looks like. Management should train staff to investigate complaints professionally instead of accusing loyal customers. The lid on my shredded potato salad wasn't on properly and the sauce leaked through my Fantuan bag. The food gets five stars. Sadly, the lid on my potato salad wasn't securely on the container. I had my food in my insulated bag, so the sauce leaked into the Fantuan bag and my insulated bag. Luckily, my car was fine. As a result, my rating is four stars. I wanted to try a new eatery. I looked at my Fantuan app and noticed He Bei Chinese Cuisine. It had dumplings and snacks that I enjoy, so I said yes to placing a dinner order from this eatery. I ordered these items: - Pork and chive steamed dumplings (large has 14 dumplings) - Tea eggs - Shredded potato salad On Fantuan, when you purchase $15 worth of food, you get the shredded potato salad for a cent. Deal! After placing my order near my home, I drove over to this eatery. The drive was ten minutes. I was given an estimated time of fifteen minutes. It was ready in ten minutes. I had no problem finding this eatery. There was plenty of parking. I pulled into a spot and walked in. I saw the Yubu sign. My heart sank, as I loved the Korean tofu pockets from this joint. I liked seeing places to sit down and eat at He Bei. Nice! A woman behind the counter came over. I said that I had a Fantuan order. She talked to me in Mandarin. I don't understand it, but we were fine communicating with each other in our languages. She pointed out the blue Fantuan bag on the table behind me. I thanked her and wished her a nice day. She said thanks right back. I put my food in my insulated bag. With the leak, I managed to launder the Fantuan bag and clean my insulated bag. After I cleaned up, I had dinner at home. The food was amazing and filling! I loved the shredded potato salad. Sure, a lot of the sesame-soy sauce was gone. However, it tasted yummy. It was worth the cent! The steamed pork and chive dumplings were so good. I didn't dunk them in soy sauce. The filling had so much moisture that I felt like I was eating soup dumplings. The filling had yummy flavour and the dumplings were steamed to perfection. Excellent! You can buy frozen dumplings from this place. I'll need to do it. The tea eggs were the perfect snack while streaming hockey games. I peeled the shells off both of them. The eggs were cracked to allow the amazing soy-based sauce to marinate and get into the eggs. Delicious! I'm a fan. I'll take a closer look at the lids on my food next time. I'm glad that I put food in my insulated bag. It saved cleaning my car's upholstery! (59)

The individual New Century slow boiled soup is hardest to share but secure some empty bowls and you can divide the hefty portion. In the winter, there's a silkiness to the piping hot consommé that sooths a dry throat and has an umami essence infused with abalone, ginseng, and pork. There's plenty to choose from in the house signature combo platter including roasted duck, soy sauce chicken, BBQ pork, pork slices, and seaweed salad. Saving my stomach for the later dishes, I had a taste of the duck (a good start with crispy skin) and BBQ pork (satisfactory and well flavoured). With the generous portion of chicken in the combo platter, the slow cooked chicken with abalone broth seemed like overkill. I've never been a huge fan of this dish that's served cold since I prefer chicken hot. Still, I understand it's the jelly layer between the skin and meat that people enjoy. And to be fair, the chicken was tender, and New Century certainly didn't skimp on the ginger and scallion oil. For those who tend to fill-up before the "main dishes", the stars of the combo arrive mid-meal. The stir-fried Vancouver crabs with silver fish in HK style spicy sauce needs to be eaten at arrival as the crunchy coating is best straight from the fryer. And despite not looking spicy, the dish has a light heat that permeates in the background. Additionally, the crab was fresh and meaty, cooked well so it remained delicately flakey. The amount of sweet and sticky sauce used in the stir-fried lobsters with scallion in Maggie sauce was well balanced, lightly covering the crustaceans. Both lobsters were substantial; even after eating many pieces, we still had plenty of leftovers. This is a long review head to Gastro World for the rest.
