A little cute, adorable boy, Ash, joined us two weeks ago through Adopt Me Rescue and officially became our new family after two-week-trial!! When he met our big dog first time, he was scared of him. So, we worried... but, Laura Dash, a founder of ADOPT ME RESCUE, observed how Ash acted after that and told us he would be fine. And, she said, if Ash won't be happy to be with our big dog after two weeks, she would pick him up. Laura was absolutely right. Within a few days, he started to enjoy his new environment and has been giving us lots of joy and laughter since then. Ash has been getting closer and closer to our big dog and showed his tummy in front of him to show his respect. What a smart guy! I am greatly appreciate for the service ADOPT ME RESCUE provides. Laura Dash and her crew are genuinely working with profound consideration and love towards long-lasting happiness both for the dogs and for people who are trying to adopt them. Thank you so much!

Adopt Me Rescue - headed by Laura Dash and her friend Laurette - is one of the most compassionate, sensitive, and responsible animal rescues, that I have ever had the honor of working with. My family and I lost our toy poodle Shadow of 12 years, after we had rescued him at 2 years old. After he passed, we all had an empty hole in our heart. Until, we met Ridley - who was an 8 year old poodle - who recently lost his owner. As soon as we met, we could tell he was a good fit for our family and with our other dog (who is also a rescue) Harley, our 12 year old silky terrier. Adopt Me Rescue had a very structured process which was inclusive of an application to prove interior and exterior pictures of your property. This was followed up by an in person meeting with Laura and Laurette, and also the opportunity to meet Ridley. Laura and Laurette do everything to make sure that the pairing is a win-win-win situation. Most importantly, they want to make sure the pets that they rescue from kill shelters or strays, are placed in loving fur-ever homes. They also want to make sure that the family that is rescuing the pet understands their obligations and what their commitment is in taking care of the pet. Adopt Me Rescue also wants the relationship to work for them, as they place another loving pet. Laura has been doing this for 25 years and has an amazing memory. She and her team rescues animals from kill shelters, as well as strays and surrenders, but even getting dogs from Mexico that live in packs on the streets of Tijuana. Please do yourself a favor if you can, and do not go to a puppy breeder. As they say, adopt and don't shop. Adopt Me Rescue will take really good care of you. Laura and Laurette are two amazing people that clearly love animals, and we are all the better for it.

Denise send me this at 4am. That's weird. Proves my point that this person is mentally unstable

Oh nothing changed. Just found it weird that the owner sent me a message at 4am saying this:

Even though I have and had rescue fur babies for over 50 years, I was rejected for pet adoption with no reason given.

This place REALLY cares about which cats go to where. I got my cat (named Captain when I adopted…read moreand now named Doc) after going over there for a few days. They talked to me and figured out my personal life and then suggested cats that they thought would fit in. Doc has become the perfect friend. And I can't thank them enough for helping me. UPDATE: also got another cat named Marty and we have been a family for over 5 years!

Quite simply, Rhea is lying, but I see from other reviews that she makes a habit of this…read more Our interactions until the phone call in which she basically interrogated me, were fine. Post that phone call, my feelings about the way she handled herself Changed, and I was wary of her. Despite her assertion that I had no idea what I was looking for, I told her precisely what I was looking for: a bonded pair of cats that were a little older, say two years old or older. I had just lost my cat and my dog. I had also just lost my husband. All this within four months. I found my house too quiet without the pets and my husband, and that is why I reached out to Rhae. I wanted something to care for, a bonded pair of cats seemed exactly what I needed, having had cats all of my life. I never bad mouthed other rescue organizations, other than mentioning the southern golden retriever organization from whom my husband and I adopted two fabulous golden retrievers. While the dogs were great, the organization was not. Unfortunately, I am in very good company as pertains to being dissatisfied with that group, and I only mentioned it to Rhae when she specifically asked me if I had worked with other organizations. The forum of yelp asks for reviews. They do not ask for only positive reviews, they asked for both negative and positive, and I have given both, so on that issue and only that issue, Rhae was correct. The vetting of my house was not done by Rhae, it was done by the other woman, and we had a delightful time. Rhae is clearly a bitter and unhappy human being who calls anyone slightly older than she "elderly. "Indeed, I have let my hair go salt and pepper since Covid. That does not make me elderly. Indeed, I shared with Rhae that I had a major back surgery the year before, which is why kittens were out of the question because I could not bend as often as they might need me to. That does not make me elderly. That makes me aware of the limitations of my body and reluctant to jeopardize my health. That also makes me someone who wants to completely fulfill the needs of whatever cats I adopt. Don't believe Rhae's gaslighting. It is as fake as she is.

We had a very disappointing experience at Pet Orphans of Southern California. We adopted a dog…read morethrough spcaLA and were referred there for his neuter procedure, which was required as part of the adoption agreement. The issues began at drop-off. I arrived on time at 8:30 a.m., but there was a long line of owners and dogs waiting outside. Many of the dogs appeared to be puppies, fosters, or newly adopted pets still adjusting and difficult to manage. I waited approximately 20 minutes while trying to control my 65-pound dog. When I reached the front, staff said they had no record of our appointment and asked, in an unprofessional manner, whether I had completed the intake form that was supposedly emailed to me. I had never received it. I was then handed paperwork to complete on-site while continuing to manage my dog in a crowded environment. On the form, I disclosed that my dog had been experiencing chronic diarrhea since being picked up as a stray, that we were actively working with our veterinarian to identify the cause, and that our veterinarian had cleared him for surgery. Staff then told me they would not proceed if he had diarrhea. I explained that this condition predated the adoption, that the neuter was required by the shelter, and that we had already obtained veterinary clearance. Staff repeatedly went back and forth between me and the veterinarian before eventually presenting a high-risk consent form. The communication around this was especially concerning. When the form was presented, I was told that by signing it, I was accepting that if anything happened to my dog, it would be my fault. I understand that additional risks can exist, but this was handled in a dismissive and inappropriate manner. If the clinic had sent the intake paperwork in advance or reviewed the medical concerns beforehand, this could have been addressed prior to my driving an hour from West Adams to Van Nuys with a dog who does not travel well. I was also disappointed that additional charges were presented for items such as an e-collar, pain medication, and IV fluids. For a required adoption procedure, these added costs felt excessive. Pick-up was similarly poor. When my dog was returned, a staff member commented, "Make sure to take care of the diarrhea because he still has it," despite our earlier detailed discussion of the condition and treatment plan. While loading him into the car, I noticed feces on his cone, tail, and legs. This suggested he had soiled himself and had not been adequately cleaned before discharge, which was both upsetting and concerning from a sanitation and post-operative care standpoint. Overall, this experience reflected poor communication, lack of professionalism, and inadequate attention to patient care. I would not return to Pet Orphans of Southern California and would not recommend this clinic to others. I also plan to share this experience with spcaLA so they are aware of the concerns regarding this referral partnership.
