Ciao, 8 weeks old, terrier-poodle mix
Robin F.

Wags & Walks were amazing throughout our whole adoption process! We had let them know months ago about the type of puppy we were looking for. They suggested numerous pups, listened to our wishes, consistently followed up, & did not pressure us in any way. Just yesterday we finally found the perfect pup! Ciao (from their Goodbye litter) is exactly what we were looking for! She's absolutely the missing member of our family! Thank you W&W! They helped us by providing a starting bag of food & their on-site store was super cute too! We found the perfect crossbody bag to carry our new pup & the perfect cheetah print collar for her to go home in. I definitely recommend anyone looking to rescue/adopt/foster to put W&W at the top of their list!

They are claiming I adopted the dog, but it's not tax deductible. Now they're claiming I never adopted the dog but paid a fee?

adopted a dog from here. I have the attached receipt an email from their team mentioning adoption multiple times. However, they are keeping my dog after he was turned in after being impounded in my car and the police removed his name tag. I was harassed off the streets illegally by the police. They apologize and said they had no warrant for my arrest or charge. I've been in a big lawsuit with a pass partner, who is trying to block mail me into a settlement from a lot of physical damages from violence. Wags & Walks exploited a situation where my dog turned back up at the rescue because its microchip was not changed, and now they are confirming, I never adopted the dog. This is a scam. They are claiming the money I paid for the dog was neither a foster fee, adoption fee or donation. Then what is the money for? They raised millions at 2024 charity gala I went too yet still scam people for money. This place is highly unethical and dangerous so more press will be circulated about them.

On the way home!

It's a big deal bringing a new pet into the family and the W&W team was with us the whole way. They were knowledgeable about the individual pets we were interested in and helped us find a good match. Then they stayed with us for all the big and little questions. Our pup came to us with everything he needed for a soft landing, especially great advice! On top of that, you can feel good about this group. The work they do for shelter and homeless animals in the community goes above and beyond. By adopting our little guy, we got a love match, but also cleared a space for Wags and Walks to rescue someone else. Win win!

Parker from Wags and Walks was very patient with me as I navigated the adoption process. She introduced me to my new best friend who received excellent care while he was in their facility. The follow through from Parker and other staff has been so supportive and they are one of the few rescues I have come across they are not peddling designer puppies. I love my Freddie, fka Scooby and highly recommend Wags and Walks services!

from the moment we met Puggy (previously named Cersei) we knew she was the one. she's sweet, playful, cuddly and silly. the wags and walks team were so helpful and patient with me. over the phone, Jade helped me figure out what i was looking for. she gave me different suggestions based on what i wanted and my lifestyle. in person, Annalise introduced me to some different dogs until we met Puggy. she also gave us great training advice. the facilities were clean and the vibe was calm. all the dogs we met before Puggy were so sweet and friendly. our adoption fee includes her up to date vaccines and her spay. i was pleasantly surprised that they care so much about her health--even though she's technically out of their hands now. overall our experience was awesome. since we got her they have stayed in contact and sent so much helpful information about training and welcoming her to our home. if i ever choose to adopt again, i'll be adopting from wags and walks. i have nothing but good things to say about this experience!

Such a great experience. This was our first time adopting a dog and the staff made it easy and smooth. We love everything and highly recommend!

An Outstanding Rescue That Truly Goes Above and Beyond We are forever grateful to this incredible rescue organization for bringing our sweet girl Bessie into our lives. From the moment we connected with them, it was clear just how deeply every single person staff and volunteers alike cares about these dogs. The love, dedication, and humanity they show is unmatched. Our Frenchie had some complications after her surgery, and Jen from the medical staff literally took her home and cared for her personally until she was strong enough to be adopted. That kind of compassion is rare. They checked in on her every single day, made sure she had the best medical care, and gave her every chance to thrive. The doctors and entire medical team treated her like family. This rescue is not only sweet and compassionate, but also extremely organized and professional. Every step of the adoption process was thoughtful and thorough. You can tell that everyone involved is in it for the right reasons--they absolutely love these animals and will do whatever it takes to help them heal and find loving homes. We couldn't recommend this organization more. If you're considering adoption, don't look any further. This team is the real deal hands-down one of the most wonderful experiences we've ever had. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

We had such a disappointing experience with this rescue, and I feel like others should know what to expect. My family came in genuinely excited to adopt a puppy and provide a loving, forever home. We brought our 7-year-old Chihuahua to the meet-and-greet -- a dog who has been around tons of other dogs (big and small), stayed in homes with up to five dogs at a time, and has NEVER shown an ounce of aggression. She is gentle, social, and calm. The rescue staff evaluated her in a tiny indoor room, on a leash (which she is never on indoors), and after a single minor vocalization -- not a growl, not a lunge, just a noise -- they decided she was too much of a risk and denied the adoption. It was shocking, honestly. Even my husband, who is always blunt when it comes to our dog's behavior, couldn't believe it. We have a loving home, a big backyard, and a lot of love to give. We were ready to welcome a rescue dog and give her the world. Instead, we were judged unfairly and turned away based on a very controlled and unnatural interaction. If you're considering adopting from this rescue, just be prepared for an extremely overzealous, rigid process and snap judgments that don't always reflect real-world dog behavior. Sadly, it seems they're more interested in perfection than finding good homes. We'll be adopting from a shelter or rescue that actually wants to see dogs placed in safe, loving environments -- not one that actively makes it harder.

We lost our French bulldog to lymphoma in 2023 and didn't feel ready to add another family member until this past month. We adopted our French bulldog / pug puppy from wags & walks and I was so impressed with how efficiently they operated and the adoption process overall. I've heard of other rescues being unrealistic with adoption requirements but I think wags & walks was appropriately thorough placing our dog, who is a (sometimes) difficult mix of breeds health-wise and I could tell they were super focused on making lifetime matches for their rescue babies. We are in love with our dog and so thankful he is ours. Also we brought him to the vet a week after and they verified he was completely up to date on vaccinations and healthy.

Great organization. Very kind to my mother who participates in the volunteer and foster program. Thanks to Wags & Walks my family has a new addition to the family - a little terrier mix named Charlie!

Unfortunately, he was terrified of our very energetic pup. I still check and hope Dobby finds a wonderful home. So if you are reading this review I can verify, he is amazing. I really liked The Lange Foundation and kept checking their site for maybe a bigger more energetic pup that could match our pup's energy. Their location St. Bonnie's had a dog named Aiden. I watched his videos and he also seemed high energy. We met him and it was love at first sight for all of us. He matched our dog's play style and also settled in for loves and cuddles. We adopted him and our so happy with him. We are so grateful for both locations. They are clean, walked, and well taken care of. We appreciate that they ensure dogs make it in to the right homes. Now could someone please go adopt Dobby!

My cat was finally called and I was in shock at what I saw. The cruelty and treatment of my cat was so wrong. The Lange Foundation should train the staff paid or not to be more organized and treat our pets in a much better way than this. This person here is using her mouth to hold the syringe and having some kind of exorcist moment before injecting my cat with the syringe straight from her mouth and then the way she holds her and drags her and then throws her in the crate like nothing. I went home and cried. 7/31/26 Since this post a few messages were sent my way. I wasn't going to address them but it has gotten out of hand. I don't need permission to take pictures or record in Public. Free or not they shouldn't be treated like that.

The suggestion donation was a bit high ($900), but they said for pure bread or dogs that are high in demand, the prices are right so it can pay for the dogs that are not being adopted. I found that to be caring and true, I do not mind spending a little more to ensure they take care of all the injured animals at the shelter. The people there really love animals and take care of them, I did not feel like this was a money making operation. It truly felt like all the money was going to be used for food, shelter, and medicine. I highly recommend this place.

They informed us that the dog had multiple applicants, and that the adoption fee might decrease over time if interest remained low. We scheduled a meetup near a Petco in Hawthorne. They arrived a bit late in a large white van with multiple dogs in crates--some appeared anxious. The process felt a little hectic since other adopters were scheduled around the same time. The adoption fee was on the higher side and included vaccinations and spay/neuter services. However, our dog was too young to be fully vaccinated or neutered, so we had to schedule those appointments later. Unfortunately, we later learned--through a professional groomer--that the dog we adopted was not a poodle as advertised, but a labradoodle.

My second experience was terrible. After my puppy was killed while with me on leash by a reckless driver, I later returned to L&L to look for a new baby. Different set of employees, and both my nephew and I were shocked that one of them seemed to blame me for my puppy being killed. He was rude, insensitive to the circumstance, and he did all he could to throw up roadblocks to helping me. He was an expressionless jerk who had zero empathy or professionalism. I contacted the manager about this, and though she three times promised to call me back, she never did. This is heartless behavior for a place that is supposed to be doing good. I will never go back to that place again. The only reason this is not a 1-star review is because my first experience with them was good. That appears to have been an anomaly. I adopted a pup from Best Friends West LA, which I cannot recommend enough.

CatCafe Lounge has been my top 3 cat rescue cafe/shelters to go to in the SoCal area as a huge cat lover. During my first time at the West LA location, I was surprised to see that they transformed the outside space into a catio! It was the first I've ever seen in the 10+ shelters/cafes I've been to. Even after the move, the lounge setup was adorable and clean and had many tunnels, towers, and beds for the cats - making great use of the space in their new Venice location while also being a great source of enrichment for the cats. Both the kitten and main lounge housed many kittens/cats over the years, and they all seemed so content and well-taken care of. Most were well-mannered and very friendly to visitors. They also provided a coupon for their store and for their obedience classes. They also have fun events, which we've attended in the past with our previous pupper (RIP) and will likely attend more in the future. The other folks that were there with me were grabbing kitties, waving toys right in their faces, throwing toys at them. This one lady was just completely ignoring the cats body language. It kept hissing and nipping and her and flicking its tail and she just laughed and kept touching it and throwing a mouse toy at its face. It hurt to watch. I wish that patrons were given more instruction on how to approach cats, maybe a little card with some Do's and Don'ts. Not everyone has played with a cat before.
