I received a follow-up from Vickie just one day after submitting an application for an adorable husky puppy. After reviewing my responses, she felt I might be more suited for one of her other husky pups (litter mate). My boyfriend and I set up some time to meet "Sookie" a few days afterwards and immediately fell in love. We took her home the same day and it has been one of the best decisions we've ever made! Vickie is very well aware of the needs of each of her rescues and takes the time to carefully vet each application, then match them with the perfect furbaby. She truly cares for each of her rescues and wants the home they go to, to be their forever home. Honestly, I've read some of the negative reviews and it would do you well to ignore them. There is nothing more important to Vickie than making sure these furbabies find their perfect home. (If you want a husky puppy, but live in a tiny apartment and work 100 hours per week, it's probably not a good fit.) She's exceptionally kind, reasonable, and responsive. I've lived with or owned dogs for pretty much my entire life, yet have still been able to learn so much from Vickie, especially during training. Eloise is a wonderful rescue and I am SO grateful that Kaia is part of our family. I don't (nor do I want to) remember what it was like without her.

Eloise Rescue is amazing, vickie really cares about her fur babies with her entire world. she only wants what is best for them, and she knows her stuff. she is super helpful even after adoption and answers any questions or concerns you may have. couldn't be more thankful as our doggie cali is the sweetest thing in the world.

We adopted our dog, Scout, from Eloise pet rescue and are so grateful for the care she was given, by Vickie, before she came into our lives. Vickie clearly loves these dogs and has dedicated her life to helping them find loving homes. She is a one woman show and if you have a hard time reaching her, I would recommend calling her, as she always gets back. I will say that the process is not the easiest way to get a dog, however, we were given so much information about Scout's health and personality before we adopted her, that made life so much easier once we got her. I especially appreciate Vickie's willingness to help, even after we received our dog. The adoption fees cover vet visits, blood work, microchipping, spay/neuter costs, plus the dogs are cared for with a dedicated foster family before you receive them.

    Teddy!

We are so grateful for Eloise Rescue! Because of the amazing work they're doing helping place these loving pups with the right humans we were able to get our Teddy! Vickie is great at helping you understand the journey and story of the pup you're looking to adopt and she always has THEIR best interest at heart! So blessed by Vickie and the amazing Fosters and Vet care that help make Eloise Rescue possible! Please don't buy, adopt and save a life and change their lives and yours!

    This sweet angel.

I adopted my pup through Eloise Rescue about 2 months ago. Because the dog had been fostered, Vickie and her team knew everything about her personality before I adopted her and were aware of her quirks and love-able antics. This really helped lower my anxiety and enjoy my first experience adopting a pet. Finding the right match for the dogs is of utmost importance to Vickie and in my case, she found the perfect match.

I can't say enough wonderful things about Eloise Rescue and Vicki specifically. Vicki brought me the love of my life, Mac. Vicki goes above and beyond to save precious lives. If you're looking for your furever friend adopt from Eloise Rescue. She truly cares about each and every one of her rescues.

A few years ago, a friend of mine adopted a dog from here - a beautiful tripod chihuahua mix. She was happy with the adoption process and loves her little princess. I was having dinner next door and stopped in to check the store out. As expected, the place is meticulously perfect and the décor is bougie with lots of cute plush dog toys & merch. Off to the side is a section where the fur babies that are up for adoption reside in posh play pens with white picket fences. There is also a nice area on the rooftop where potential adopters can spend quality time with their future fur baby. The staff here are very friendly, and I got to meet one of the pups named Meatball as he was on his way out for a walk. We are a family of color. I pay close attention to tone, body language, and how staff choose to speak to us. The difference was obvious the moment we arrived. We came to look at cats. Before we were allowed to even view the cages, an older woman with a Russian accent immediately began firing off intrusive qualifying questions. The final one was, "Well are you even ready to adopt now?" I chuckled and replied that it all depended on how the visit went. She followed up by counting our children out loud. "Well I see you got one, two, three kids." I explained politely that not all of them were ours (I am the headmaster of a school serving autistic children). She responded by clapping me on the back twice without permission and saying, "I see you already got enough." This is often used to 'shame' people of color. At age 50, I only have two children of my own and the income to support them; I think perhaps I should get parenting advice from a more qualified source. Do not touch people without consent. Do not talk down to them. Do not try to establish superiority through sarcasm or volume. I walked away while this gross weirdo continued prattling on. We stayed close to an hour. No one asked if we wanted to meet any animals. No one offered information. No one showed interest in helping us adopt. When my wife asked a male staff member about the likely size of a litter of very young puppies, his response was irritation and "I have no idea." Size matters when adopting a dog. Acting annoyed by a basic question reflects poorly on the staff and on the organization. This shelter looks good on the surface, however the staff needs to understand that their behavior makes them look like buffoons and makes the organization that employs them look tacky. The treatment we received did not match the mission they advertised. Clean facility. Unacceptable conduct. We'll stick to our regular shelter.

From the moment I walked in, I was warmly welcomed by the kind and knowledgeable staff who took the time to thoughtfully explain the fostering and adoption process. The one staff member even gave us a mini tour to see their dog Simba who was the only one available for fostering at the moment. All the others were only available for adoption. Unfortunately, since I am only looking for small to small-medium sized dogs there wasn't a match for me yet. But it was so great to see the row of dogs held in this warmly heated section of the center who all had mini lifted cot like beds to rest on instead of having to lay on the cold floor. The facility was so clean, well-maintained, and heated, providing a comfortable environment for the animals, who were kept safe and warm inside this wonderful non-profit, no-kill center. The kitties are displayed right by the entrance so that your heart can view and connect with animals as soon as you walk inside their facility. I learned so much during my visit and felt inspired by the care and dedication of everyone involved. During my visit, they didn't have any small to small-medium sized dogs that I hoped for but I hope to go back frequently to check on their on going availability for incoming dogs to come. Crossing fingers. Overall, it was a splendid experience, and I'm excited to return soon with the hope of finding the perfect dog to adopt.
