What a dive, but good food at a good price. Quick counter service of freshly prepared food. This was our first visit. Just happened to come across it from our return to Tucson after a day in Bisbee. We wanted something quick, good and not fast food . . . Adolfo's Taco Shop takes care of all three. A new Taco Bell has opened directly across the parking lot from Adolfo's Taco Shop, but we observed a steady stream of customers coming thru. We sat down to eat, but it appears all their business is phone-in/takeout. Tacos are good size as are their burritos. Salsa is tasty. If passing thru, we'll come again to try other menu items. read more

Great little hole in the wall atmosphere. I stopped there twice and ordered the green chile burrito. The tortilla was cooked perfectly and the pork in the chile was moist and tender with lots of green chile sauce. Will def be back when I go through there. read more

The food was not worth the wait. The enchiladas were literally just cold grated cheese stuffed inside of a tortilla, and the sauce was just as bad. The restrooms were dirty and the women's door didn't lock. The food was greasy and cold. Let's just put it this way, I spent $40 on food here and I threw it all in the trash and went to the Taco Bell next door and this is not a joke. read more

Absolutely delicious food! So generous! The restaurant ambiance is lacking, but the smells coming from the kitchen were yummy! We love to support small business and I'm glad we came here. The staff are brain dead and charged us 35.00 for two drinks and two burritos. The place filthy and smells like chemicals. When we asked about the extraordinary price that did not add up the guy behind the counter gage us a blank stare and charged the card. After my first visit at this little taco shop I can say with confidence that all the reviews have made good correct points. So I will not review Those points. However, a thorough deep clean and fresh paint with fresh color And trim would do a lot for that place. My negatives are few. My combo plate of cheese enchiladas with tostado was cold., enchilada sauce was chilled, the few pieces of cheese in the Cheese Enchiladas were fully intact. The refried beans were cold, rice dry and no flavor. The salsa was canned and tasted old - maybe going bad. The fried tortilla was really good. This place is hit or miss. The staff is not interested in the success of the place - no one was working - the 2 that I saw looked and acted hung over, nice but hung over. Go at your own risk and maybe you can hit on a good day. I hope so as the food tastes like it has potential if someone pays attention. read more

I have lived in Benson for more than 10+ years. This restaurant is one of my favorite Mexican food restaurants to go to. The food is always good, fresh, and priced fairly. If you want a good meal, this is the place to go for one maybe two people if you're trying to feed a family, think twice about what you're ordering because it can become pricey. Do I recommend it? Although this business does not look like the one in the picture, it is actually at the anchor of a strip mall. It's a no nonsense Mexican food place. I had the Carne Asada torta which was better than average and my beautiful loving wife had a chorizo and egg burrito, and that's what it was chorizo and eggs, hence no nonsense. Although there was a sign out front that said masks are required, none of the staff nor any of the approximately six other customers were mask up other than my wife and I There is only a soda fountain no refrigerator for Mexican Coke, beer, bottled waters. read more

Great Mexican food. Usually they are pretty fast as well. For a while the place was pretty dumpy, unclean, and just not a place we'd care to eat in at. Then recently they improved it with new upkeep, lots of paint, and some decent cleaning. But with the cleaner store came the much inflated prices. We like the food, but for their price tag it should be a fancy dining in experience. So basically it's a fast food in and out, but costs are sit-in fees. We've been avoiding it for that reason, plus there are a number of Mexican eateries in Benson that are as good if not far better than Adolfo's which we can sit down, enjoy the company of conversation with friends and get the full experience of a nice dining experience. Too much fast food nowadays, so we prefer the dining in method instead. read more

Tried the chicken burrito, beef burrito and Carne asada taco. All good, and all HOT! This is a little corner dive, as many good taco shops are. Don't let the pictures deceive - the portions are pretty big! The salsa didn't have much flavor, but the green at least offered some spice. Next time I'll be sure to get my food to go. We stopped in here on our way back from Tombstone. While walking in, our first impressions were dated decor and a lack of cleanliness. We decided to overlook those and dine anyway. The young lady taking our order was cheerful and helpful. We ordered and sat down. Our food was prepared in a reasonable amount of time. I had a machaca burrito, and my wife had the taco combo plate. My burrito had eggs, peppers and onions, which are to be expected. It also had these really white spots in it. I couldn't tell if it was rice or riced potatoes, but either way it really did nothing to enhance the burrito. My wife's taco plate also left something to be desired. The tacos were so-so, and the rice wasn't great. The beans were better than average, though. The food was two stars on Yelp's ratings (meh. I've experienced better.) The lack of cleanliness and dingy decor didn't boost that rating at all. read more
