A Rescue Partner and myself adopted a Cat, "SYDNEY" off of Death Row @ the County Shelter, saving Her from Euthenasia. This Cat had a severe puncture/bite wound at the time of presentation. Along with a Thyroid Condition, properly diagnosed and treated. Nice Suturing, but the Stitches, in my opinion, were pulled too soon, given her thin-skin condition. She re-opened it, same nite. Back to Vet. Re-Anesthesized, re-sutured and I got a call around noon, from Kimberly saying she did fine, was recovering comfortably and "make sure you're here a 4 o'clock to pick her up." When I arrived, Dr. Phil, whom I had entrusted with the Cat, comes out and spouts, "Let me tell You something...", never did and ultimately breaks the news that the Cat, upon waking up, "went rite after the wound again, was a bloody mess, and although he cleaned her up, wanted to keep her overnite". So, as I asked Dr. Greg, "Who is supposed to be watching these Animals when they are waking up?". No response. He said he had re-dressed her that morning, to leave the bandages on for a month "this time", and released her with no charge and no pain medication. 6 days later the Cat was discharging Blood and Puss and was running a fever. All over my nice fabric-covered furniture, now ruined. This resulted in my Partner, Karen, to retrieve the Cat on Sunday and an Emergency Admission to an after-hours Animal Hospital, where she was diagnosed with a moderate to heavy infection and the Puncture hole which was the size of 2 or 3 pinheads is now the size of a quarter. This Vet wants the wound re-dressed for the next 5 days, and changed daily @ home, afterwards. I had used Adobe 9 years ago with good results. Ever since family expansion, I hav noticed "speed-line Medicine tactics", to the point where Technicians are pushed to expedite procedures such as visit intake, having to be reminded by me to "weigh the Cat", for proper Charting/Treatment. I have used this Vet in the past with good results. Not this time, or any other time in the future, after making this poor little Cat SUFFER like they did and then to ignore proper aftercare, due to poor post-op Monitering, which they were on the hook for. Totally INEXCUSABLE!! Cheap and for the most part, Personable, also but YOU choose. So sad! Competent People racing against the clock for production. 2 STARS in this case I feel, is quite generous. Shame on you'all. read more
