When you're so busy that you don't reply to messages and then you make an appointment to do an estimate and don't show up. That's when you ask how does a company stay in business that is this careless? You can count on this degree of unreliability. I'm old enough to remember when this was unacceptable behavior of any business. read more

Adam did a great job on my crumbling Adobe and foundation. He also sealed the Adobe. I would highly recommend.

We bought an Querobabi burnt adobe house and have done an extensive renovation on it. Querobabi adobe is no longer made. Overall, the adobe is in great condition but needed some patch work from the previous homeowner nailing things to the walls, damage from tile removal, and blending new mortar with old on an adobe wall addition. I did an exhaustive search for adobe repair and came across Adobe King. The owner Adan came out and took a look. They were able to repair 70 year old adobe to look new. They patched holes and reshaped broken adobe blocks using mortar. I was impressed at the craftsmanship in painting the bricks to appear natural. I am very detail oriented and the finished product surpassed my expectations. They were able to renovate these old bricks that are no longer in production. If you are in search for adobe repair or sealant of adobe look no further than Adobe King. Five stars for the finished results, which was what was most important to me, however if I were to factor in their communication skills, they'd be closer to 3.5-4 stars. Getting a hold of them was extremely difficult and we had to repeatedly call them and follow up, but ultimately they came through and did a quality job. read more

The Adobe King and his team worked wonders on our historic burnt red brick and mud adobe home. They corrected shotty and unsightly work completed by an inexperienced third-party mason our Contractor selected. They also completed color corrections on our interior Adobe that had been damaged by water, roofing tar and fire. We would describe them as artisans and highly recommend them to assist you with color corrections, sealing red brick and other maintenance items. They are busy but are worth the wait. read more

I contacted the business via the e-mail address on their website, and never received a reply or a call. Too busy for courtesy, I guess. Companies who will not answer emails SHOULD NOT LIST THEM IN ADS AND ON WEBSITES. read more

Had them come out to do an estimate. They told me that the stucco damage I had was only minor and superficial. They then told me how to do the repairs myself! Really appreciated! read more

I can not tell you how incredibly pleased we are with Adon and the Adobe King crew! They turned our newly purchased, 1977, neglected Adobe home into a masterpiece! They did exactly what they said they would do and more!! The crew was fantastic. We are so privileged to have a true Adobe home that is now preserved for many years to come! Don't paint!! Restore. Thank you Adon, we wish you many years of success! read more

Adan, the owner of this company and his crew are AWESOME!! I had a terrible experience with a paint contractor who ruined the white wash of the Adobe on the front of my home. Adan sent two of his amazing men to repair and match the remaining finish. These men are efficient, polite and extremely knowledgeable of their expertise. Joab ( hopefully spelling is correct, probably not) and Mikey are true craftsmen. I highly recommend Adobe King if you have an issue and want the job done with the utmost integrity. If you don't call them and hire them...you're definitely making a mistake. Thanks to Adobe King....Adan, Joab ( again spelling), Mikey. You're the best!!! we called to get a quote he came out and looked at the house and he ghosted us. Never got back to us on a quote. Reached out twice with no response. He was late getting to the house when he did come out because he put a dog down that day. read more

Contacted John for an estimate on stucco repair. Other guys quoted approximately 1k. They no showed on an appointment and when they did show up they didn't have a ladder and had to use mine. John/ Adobe King, returned my call promptly, showed up when he said AND said I don't need any stucco repair. Recommend a good painter, which we planned anyway. So although he didn't do any work for us, I'm sure you can see he certainly has integrity. Would recommend with no reservations. read more

I moved to Tucson a year ago. I am new to the world of Monsoon Season. We had a large hailstorm last week (the size of mothballs). I had no idea if the damage to my home was catastrophic or something that I could address within a few months. Enter my hero: John from Adobe King. John came to my home and educated me on stucco, the importance of quality paint and what I needed to do to protect my new home. John could have easily told me that I needed to thousands of dollars of repair. Instead, he assured me that I could repaint my home and it would be as good as new. John is professional, punctual (I hate laters!) and kind. Most importantly, I trust him. If a monsoon does attack my house again, John will be the man, and company, I turn to. read more

What a pleasure to meet a conscientious and honest contractor for a change. I called on Adobe King for an estimate to repair our 40 yr. old slump block home. Punctual, friendly, and knowledgeable, John S. advised me that our home didn't require any of the expensive repairs I had envisioned, and assured me that our house was in great shape. I was surprised and delighted. Although I can't vouch for work, since I fortunately didn't need any, I can give Adobe King 5 stars for initial customer service. read more

I was referred to John from another specialist who said John would be the right guy to call to take a look at my historic adobe home. We recently had an inspection and there was concern about a leaning wall. He came out right away. We had thought it would be an expensive fix, but he eased our worries and discussed proper adobe maintenance and preservation. I really appreciated John's responsiveness and time and will be reaching out again if I have any needs. read more

Contacted Adobe King for a quote for stucco repair. John the owner answered and scheduled an appointment days later. I had been waiting for a follow up quote from another contractor for the final work after they looked at the wall when John came out. He was able to give me the quote and complete the job same day. Prompt, polite and the work came with a warranty. Highly recommend. read more

Adobe King did an excellent job repairing and sealing my adobe home. The repair work was very high quality and they did a great job matching the adobe and mortar colors exactly so that all of the repairs look like the original surrounding. they also fixed a large crack and you'd never know it was there. The employees were very professional and nice. they went above and beyond and even cleaned my gutters while repairing the chimney on the roof. I would highly recommend them! read more

John, the owner, was very quick to respond to my voicemail I left for him over the weekend about quoting a job. He even called me again when I failed to return his call promptly. He scheduled the visit just a day or two after. He came out to look at our project, and was extremely friendly, professional, and helpful. Turns out our project didn't require his expertise, but he still spent time with us explaining how we could easily and inexpensively do parts of the project ourselves. For the other parts he gave us a solid referral of a professional who better suited our needs. I would not hesitate to call him again with any adobe-related questions or needs. read more

You Definitely cannot go wrong by calling Adobe king, owner John. John was very very nice on the phone and was able to come out real quick to inspect my roof which I did have a small leak. When he came out he immediately got to work came down off the roof and told me my repair would be seconds away very very simple then showed me pictures of my roof in need of recoating. He then gave me an estimate on what the coating would cost. Not a bad price considering the warranty and the years it would last. John was very informative, patient, and so nice. I set up an appointment to have it done. Ok had the roof recoated and working with his crew was a dream. So polite and professional. Told me each step that they would do ahead of time, was on time each day and cleaned up any mess they made, which wasn't much. Again you cannot go wrong with Adobe King. read more

I recently purchased an old adobe with no evidence of prior coating or repairs with significant cracking. John and his team got it repaired, coated, and looking like new- these guys are talented, timely, and professional. They left my home clean too. I thought the price was very fair, and business practices were honest, straightforward. No high pressure or other questionable tactics. I am so glad to have the classic exposed adobe block look without the cracking and to have it protected from weathering. If you are in need of crack repair in particular, I highly recommend this company and had a great overall experience. Don't try to repair cracks in adobe yourself- you are likely to do more harm than good. This is a job to leave to the experts at Adobe King. read more

John was quick to respond and came to give me a bid on my home the next day. When he arrived he was very friendly and helpful. He obviously knows the definition of customer service. Gave me a lot of information and was very honest. His recommendations were terrific and if I ever need help with Adobe he will be the first one I call. Highly recommend using his services. read more

John Schimon, who owns Adobe King, came by my house to look at a possible repair of some deteriorating adobe in my courtyard. He took one look at the blocks and said, "This cement-stabilized block isn't being made any longer. I can't repair it, and it will just continue to deteriorate." But then he took another 15 minutes to explain what was going on with the blocks, why they were the wrong type of blocks for this application in the first place, and why any attempted repairs would not be long-lasting, so they would not be worth the trouble and cost. It would be a case of "good money after bad," as they say! Then he made recommendations for me to follow up for rebuilding the walls with new materials, and which materials he would recommend, and gave me the name of a contractor to do the job. This is what I call a professional: someone who puts the customer's interests first, and doesn't try to convince you he can take care of something when it can't be done properly. Thanks, John! read more

We contacted John Schimon, owner of Adobe King, soon after moving into our 1963 burnt adobe home in midtown Tucson. The presale house inspection revealed water damage/deterioration to some of the lower adobe bricks, needing attention. John came over and gave the home a pretty thorough going over, including the roof, with me in tow. He has vast experience in adobe repair and restoration and concluded overall the house was in pretty good shape. Over time, the adobe had been well cared for. John gave me some strong directions on how to repair the damaged adobe bricks on my own with a stop at Home Depot. Then, because he didn't "fix " anything, kindly refused our offer of payment. What an unexpected gesture from a real Tucson adobe pro. We are most grateful. read more

We have a 4 year old Pepper Viner house whose stucco was done by Copperstate Plastering. There were large cracks and missing stucco on the parapets. Pepper Viner and Copperstate said it was maintenance issue. John at Adobe and the other three companies we got quotes from all said this shouldn't happen in 4 years. John gave us the best quote and his work is guaranteed for 10 years where everyone else was one year. Even though we started the work 9 months after the original quote John honored the original quote. We are happy with the work done and would recommend Adobe king to anyone needing repair work. read more

John the owner came by a few days after I had spoken to him by phone to check out what we thought was a leak in the parapet at the front of our stucco. After he assessed the issue he said it was not a leak but just moisture that was seeping into the garage from the bricks and told us what we could do to resolve the issue. He seemed very honest, professional, and we could tell he was very knowledgeable in his craft. He gave us a good referral and we would be pleased to contact him again if we every had the need. read more

I have a 10 year old natural adobe home. I previously had the adobe sealed and was very disappointed with the work. AdobeKing was a night and day difference. I was home to watch some of the application. Both the product used and the application was of highest quality. They did areas the prior company did not even touch. Excellent work and very professional. 100% satisfied and would recommend highly. read more

John from Adobe King came out today to check on a leak issue for my Mom. Turned out that the issue is related to flashing on the roof and not something he could fix. He is at least the 6th person we have had out to check the problem and the first person who actually found the problem. Unfortunately, it was not a problem he fixes......but he went out of his way to give us referrals to someone who can fix it and provided contact information......he even offered to come back and show the new guy what the problem is. He could not have been nicer or more helpful.....we are so grateful we found him and thankful for the help and referral. We will definitely keep his information and call him for any future issues. read more

I recently purchased a 60 year old slump block house in the poet's corner area of town. The house had been pretty severely neglected. The block was in pretty bad shape in many places, especially where the previous owners had built up plant box with dirt against the blocks. During my initial remodel I also removed 3 exterior doors and fill in with masonry brick which was similar but did not match exactly. I had John come out for a quote. He was thorough and detailed giving me a full quote for the cost to repair the disintegrated blocks, patch holes, blend in the new masonry and seal the slump block to resist moisture. With all the remodeling work happening I did not get around to calling John back for several months. He still honored the existing bid. Over the course of two weeks, he and his crew went over the house with a fine tooth comb. Their attention to detail was noticed and appreciated. When completed, I won't say the house looked like new, but you could see a noticeable difference, i.e. cracks were gone, holes were filled, places where the block had disintegrated more than 50% looked like new, the filled in doorways where washed and matched with the surrounding block. I was pretty amazed at the level of work accomplished. I found John to be honest, fair and he followed through on what he promised. I would highly recommend the Adobe King. read more

i called john from adobe king because i was worried about the strructural integrity of an old adobe home i purchased in south tucson. john called me back after i left a message and he was kind enough to listen to me for over half an hour on the phone. i told john that i was so worried about my house...that i was having bad dreams about the walls crumbling away. we agreed on a fee and john made an appointment to inspect my home. when john arrived at my house, we walked through all the problem areas of the home and he patiently listened to everything i had to say. i know nothing about adobe or stucco repair and he could have easily told me i needed work done on my house and i would have gladly contracted his work. but john told me that my house was in good repair and that i didn't need his services. he gave me many extremely helpful tips and professional advice that will save me time and money. when i went to pay john for his consultation, he waived away my wallet saying "there will be no charge today." when i asked why he said "you deserve a good night's sleep." this is the caliber of professionalism, deep knowledge, compassion and honesty that you are dealing with when you deal with adobe king. sadly, john's brand of old fashioned integrity, competence and customer service are in short supply of late. he's like a man from another century and pehaps this is fitting since he's passion and expertise are in the ancient art of adobe construction. read more
