There's a reason this company had a 2.3-star rating at the time of my review. My experience was appalling. I was threatened with having my car impounded over a $26 balance--the difference between what my auto insurance covered and what they claimed I owed. Instead of handling the matter professionally, the driver used intimidation and held my vehicle hostage over a trivial amount. When I called to complain, the woman I spoke with was just as rude and dismissive as the driver. She told me the manager was Darryl and unapologetically stated this was "their policy," as if threatening customers over $26 is normal business practice. It got even worse--they actually went back to the Cadillac dealership and retrieved my keys until I paid the $26, effectively holding my property hostage. That is not customer service; it feels predatory. If a company is willing to threaten impoundment and withhold your keys over $26, imagine how they handle bigger issues. Unprofessional, hostile, and unethical. I would never use this company again and strongly caution others to stay away. read more

When I asked for their insurance certificate, which Florida law (Statute 715.07) says they HAVE to provide, they flat-out refused. I had a tow scheduled for 8am today. The tow guy calls me while he's driving to tell me he'll be there around 8-8:05. I waited until 8:25 to call to see where the truck is. I should be his first of the day and the guy doesn't answer. I then call the call center. The guy who answered (the reason I'm writing the review besides the guy being late) didn't listen and talked over me the entire time. He then jammed their up to an hour late policy over my voice the entire call. Seems like they really really do not care about you. Then they canceled my tow at 8:40am when they were supposed to be at my house at 8am..the guy in the call center canceled this because I hung up on him due to him consistently talking over me the entire call! If you don't mind waiting over an hour and the call center representative cancelling your tow because they run late. Use this company. Have to it's a bad day when you're in an accident, but an even worst day to know there was a baby in the car! After police report was taken care of,I called my insurance company and they let me know that Adkison towing would be coming to my location in about 90 minutes. To my surprise they were there record time. I wish I would have gotten the gentleman's name that took care of me. The experience with him was fantastic! The last thing you need is a don't want to be bothered/ I have better things to do type of person arriving in my already stressful situation. Avis Roadside Assistance sent Adkison Towing to me when I locked my rental car keys in the trunk of their Toyota Camry. For whatever reason, this is the worst possible situation and requires a locksmith to fix due to Toyota's safety features (yikes for so many reasons on Toyota's part). Tow truck came so quickly and with a smile! Great service, and even tried his own fixes before eventually towing to rental location. He went above and beyond to talk with the location before leaving and made sure I had everything I needed. The rep at Avis was abrasive and rude, and he even helped explain the situation/advocated for me. Top notch customer service. Hopefully won't need them again for a long time, but if you do need a tow, I recommend Adkison whole heartedly! read more

I try hard to look at the positives in any experience but this experience was so bad I wish I could leave zero stars. The tow trucker arrived and took photos of the car. Since my car is a lower profile my 70 yr old dad politely asked if the low profile will cause any issues to tow. My car is stock (no lowering kit or anything) he said it would be fine. My dad stated he just wanted be sure the bumper wouldn't fall off but it was okay to just continue. The tow truck employee rudely asked me to tell my dad to walk away cause he made him nervous. I responded as the car owner it's okay to go ahead and tow the car. Then the tow trucker irritably responded that he wasn't gonna tow the car and to call someone else. I requested a vehicle tow through AAA Premium Family Membership. The person who phoned me 3 times of the next hours while my daughter waited under her membership verified my confirming the location of the car key and stated that he (Jason) would be on his way. I am very disappointed in the level of service I received. I had my car towed on 4/27/24 and the driver tried to jump my battery to get the car on the tow. In doing so he put the wrong power on the battery and blew a fuse. Adkison refuses to take responsibility for what their driver did. I had to pay $150 for a 10 minute tow and now an extra $200 for damage to my vehicle that their driver caused. I will never and I hope no on else utilizes this company. At least some form of responsibility for what their driver caused would have shown their commitment to the "community " they service. read more

If I ever need towing again I will recommend my insurance call them. They were courteous and on time/ early both times. The first time I was stranded at Publix and after trying to figure out how to manually shift my car from under the hood for at least an hour with my dad and brother before deciding to get a tow, the gentleman drove right up and switched it lol. He showed us where it was which was nowhere near where the YouTube videos were showing us. Then he had the niftiest tow truck machine. The second time, my insurance company scheduled with another tow company (review coming next) that never showed. I asked them to cancel that one and call this one. Not sure if I got this one again because of my request or if they were simply next on the list but I am sure glad it was this company again. The expected time was stated to be 1.5 hours so I ran to pick up my son. They called while I was otw to my son less than 30 minutes after they were scheduled to let me know they were at my house. I panicked thinking I was about to miss getting my car towed again but the gentleman assured me he could go ahead and take my car and I could drop the keys after I pick up my son... We had called Farm Bureau Roadside Assistance to get a tow truck. The first one dispatched never showed after 4 hours! We finally put in a new request and was assigned Adkison Towing. It still took a few hours for them to finally arrive to the repair shop but they were quick to communicate with us and kept us informed. The tow truck driver even went as far as to trouble shoot the car when he arrived to see if he could figure out what was going on. He finally got our car to the repair shop. FL Farm Bureau Roadside Assistance and Almighty Towing & Transport really let us down (it took 7 hours in total from calling for roadside assistance to the tow truck getting it to the repair shop) but Nissan of St Augustine and Adkison Towing saved the day! I'd definitely recommend Adkison Towing if you need a tow truck. read more

Made a yelp account just to type this review, Recently had my car towed off the side of the highway left my key in the glove box with straight forward instructions, but shop I towed to calls me next morning saying no key to be found. Wasted half my day driving down to the shop to check, no key! This company refuses to take responsibility for there mistake making me pay $400 for a new key out my pocket cause there driver lost it, trying to say I never put it in the glove box!! Use any company but this one last thing people need is more problems added onto a already stressful situation. My insurance company sent this company to tow my vehicle (Geico) driver was able to simply drive my vehicle onto the flatbed, easy breezy, didn't have to break out the chain & go through the usual longer process .. only had to tow my vehicle about 5 minutes down the same road to drop it off at mechanic shop. Geico assured me the driver would take me home afterwards as I live close by mechanic in a small town (Callahan) and I've been driven home by several tow companies much further many times so I didn't have any concerns. One of their workers driving their truck just tried to hit me. When I honked to warn them I had to break as they cut me off. They then stopped at the intersection of the green light in front of me so they could cut across other lanes and cars to get in the turning lane they missed. Driver did not care if they hit anyone, did not care that they stopped traffic. If I needed a towing company, I'd not use this one. Don't trust them with your car. This tow company was arranged by State Farm. These people were trying to tow my vehicle to a dealer which does not service my vehicle. When asked to drop it off at my home they started asking for more money just like hostage and ransom situation neither the State Farm nor the tow company give me the correct address where the hell the car is. I had to drive to two different dealerships before I found my car in the dealership's lot where they don't service the brand of car I own. the driver left the tow hook attached to the bumper. We were not able to remove it. The car was in driving condition. They left the key in the service department's drop box of the dealer which does not service my Vehicle. I took the second key with me. Started the vehicle and brought it home. BOTH Akison and State Farm behaved very bad when disclosing the location of my car. We have suspicion that they were and would have collected ransom to disclose the location of my car. i had to involve an attorney and was getting ready to involve local law enforcement that's when the State Farm called Adkid on for exact location & fizzed up the exact dealer's name and location. Bottom line - DO NOT HIRE THIS TOW CONPANY AND DO NOT INSURE YOUR CAR WITH STATE FARM. Both tried to extort more money by keeping car's location a secret. read more

My insurance chose this company to tow my car and I was quoted 120-135 minutes at 10 at night. At 2:30 in the morning I have yet to receive my car. I unfortunately fell asleep during the time waiting for my car, immediately called the company and was told it was okay as my car was currently en route to my home. Much to my dismay, I called back an hour later for them to tell me that my car was brought back to their lot as "it was an unsafe place to leave my car with the keys in it". This was my own apartment complex!! I did get an attitude with the person on the phone, admittedly, as I've been waiting 5 hours for my car, and he certainly caught one back and told me that it was my fault for falling asleep... Shortly before that time was over, they updated and stated the driver is on his way, new ETA more than 2hrs after the call. 2 hrs. later still nobody had shown up, called Geico and then they lied to Geico saying they had cancelled the assignment, which neither Geico nor me received. Went there to pick up 2 vehicles that we own,that we are the lien-holders on ,that we have titles to,which were towed. We had to jump through hoops to get them back. They did NOT want us to pay the $700 for each vehicle so they could sell them each at their action for $5,000 plus. NOT SCREWING US TODAY. Their website (which looks great until you get there. is an absolute SHITHOLE. It's a 1974 doublewide trailer. They did not notify us within 7 days that they had possession of our vehicles. For a place ran by several longtime members of the military, they can't spell. If only I could you 0 stars! I am a new resident at a condo community. We have 2 designated parking spaces and quite a few visitors spaces which I appreciate. So last Saturday we had some friends over for the Jags game. I parked my car in a visitor space about a block away so that my elderly guest could use mine. I admit I left my car there overnight. When went to move it back the next morning there was a warning sticker on my window. I thought "Okay I guess I broke a rule ". The thing that made me mad was that I couldn't get the sticker off of my window. I had to use goo gone, a heat gun and a scraper which took about an hour. A warning warning sticker is one thing, but when you slap a sticker on a car that won't come off by just peeling it that is defacing private property. That is called vandalism! read more
