Having dealt with pneumonia twice in two months, most of my body especially my upper back has been stiff from coughing and being unwell. I definitely needed a reset and fast. I checked around to see who I could go to for a massage and called Adirondack Salt Cave for availability. They scheduled me with Hendrick and I added cupping as an add-on. Walking in, the room is dimly lit with salt lamps on the floor so you can rest your feet on them while you wait. There's jewelry, salt lamps, cherapy warming wraps (warmies made from cherry pits) and a few other things for sale, and the ladies at the front desk were so sweet and welcoming. The massage: Hendrick was very professional, attentive and took the time to listen to my concerns and to also explain to me in depth detail about how the massage would be done. I got a Swedish massage with cupping integrated in said massage and all I can say is my body feels less tight, relaxed and my upper back can breathe more easily than before. This place is amazing! I got lucky and scored a couples massage on short notice due to a cancellation. I haven't had a massage in almost 3 years, so I'm a complete disaster. Thankfully, the therapist that I had was extraordinary - Christine. Since my knots have knots currently, she certainly had her work cut out for her. The couples massage takes place in the salt cave. What a lovely, zen space! I kinda want to move in.... I left there feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Christine warned me that I would be sore and to drink a lot of water. I was definitely sore - but a really good sore. I drank lots of water and clean iced herbal tea for the rest of the day. I feel fabulous today and I plan to book another massage within a reasonable amount of time to try and avoid getting into the physical mess that I'm in! FYI - they're still following covid protocols - which I personally think is great. Once in the salt cave, masks can be removed (but the therapists do keep them on currently). This review is specifically for TMJ massage, and even more specifically for TMJ massage performed by Jodee. I've had TMJ disorder since high school and, as I've aged, the flare-ups have gotten much worse--and way more frequent. My dentists over the years haven't been incredibly helpful; the only thing they really offer is a nightguard, which I basically wear until I gnaw holes through it. Rinse, repeat. Looking for more proactive solutions, I tried Botox--it offered relief, but not lasting relief. And it was EXPENSIVE. I've always loved massage, and I'd heard rumors of the slightly scary-sounding "intraoral" TMJ massages. I was shocked that no one local offers TMJ massage (or at least, don't advertise it). After expanding my search, I finally found the Salt Cave, 55 minutes away. Figuring it couldn't hurt to try, I emailed the Salt Cave and Jodee responded right away. I would travel to the ends of the earth for the relief that Jodee has given me. I haven't had a real TMJ flare-up since I've started seeing her, and I've been seeing her for about four months now. The miracles she has worked on my jaw are seriously ... well, miraculous. I'm no longer constantly massaging a swollen, painful cheek, or feeling that pop when I open my mouth too wide. Even after the first visit I noticed a seriously impressive difference. I'm more cognizant of my posture, my stress levels, and my face in general. Not only is Jodee amazing at TMJ massages, and not only is the pricing very reasonable for the amount of relief she provides. Jodee just also happens to be a darn sweetheart. These may not be the supremely relaxing spa massages we're used to falling asleep in, you may have to participate, and you even get homework, but I leave Jodee each time feeling energized, invigorated, and physically stronger than when I walked in. Jodee makes fun chitchat, checks in with you on comfort levels, and above all listens to you and your body. An example: one visit, I had recently suffered the worst migraine of my life, brought about by changing medications, high humidity, and PMS. I let Jodee know that I would likely have more jaw tension because of this ... and she went to town on my neck, working the specific muscles that were still screaming, while still not neglecting my jaw. She even educated me on the areas I can massage myself, and loaned me a neck-training device to see if it would help. She gets no money from that; I wouldn't be buying such a device from her. She's just that caring and kind, and genuinely wants to help people feel the best that they can. Jodee's a healer. And I didn't know that TMJ was something that could be healed or even improved, until I met her. Grateful for her every single day, and can't wait to see her again. read more

My girlfriend and I booked Swedish massages in the salt cave and had an amazing time. We tried to book this massage months ago but they are very busy and we just got in today. I've never had a massage so I was a bit nervous as I didn't know what to expect. My girlfriend has gone many times so she was ready for a bit more than just a low pressure massage. Walking in, the area is very cozy and clean and just overall very relaxing. They do regular massages so we got a tour of the space and then some history about the building and then it was time to go! The fact that they didn't just rush us into the massage and actually wanted to make us feel welcomed was a great feeling. When entering the salt cave you can see the amount of work the builders put in as the walls are so beautifully layered. The walls are meant to look "under construction" and the salt is meant to be coming out of the cave and onto the walls which is very cool!! Onto the massages, I can't say too much as it was my first one ever. However, it was great! No complaints! She told me that if I didn't like anything or felt uncomfortable to say something and she would change it up. Which was exactly what I needed to hear to make myself relaxed. My girlfriend loved her massage and said it really helped her neck which had some knots. I go to the gym everyday and after the massage my muscles feel very relaxed and better than ever. It was a little confusing to find the entrance as there are other businesses in the building. The staff is helpful and welcoming. The ambiance is relaxed. We love that it's accessible. We would have liked more of the salt rock on the surrounding walls (it's only on one wall) but we did still feel a noticeable improvement after the session :) we will be back! read more

We had a wonderful time we were able to make a reservation on short notice. The staff was very friendly and the building had a lot of history. Room was a good size and I like that they only book for a few people so everyone has space around them. Only drawback was it seemed that room was not soundproof you could hear people in the hallway. If you haven't been to Adirondack Salt Cave, you are really missing out on what makes Glens Falls unique. The Salt Cave Halo Therapy is the only "treatment" that seems to work on my seasonal allergies. I've been twice at the change of seasons and whatever is in those Himalayan Salts works it's magic on me. Highly recommend it if you have any respiratory illnesses. I also have had the most wonderful massages by Kelsey who knows just the amount of pressure to use. I leave feeling so much better. Probably the best massage I've gotten. My wife was a little more difficult to compare (first time with a prenatal massage vs her normal deep tissue) but she had nothing but praise as well. Very calm and.relaxing experience. We had Jen and Kathryn, and would highly recommend them both. I just wanted to say to the business that regardless of the little snafu of the table's headrest not behaving during the massage, it didn't take away from the experience at all. I have been going for a year, now I go three times a week. Since I was very young I always had bronchitis every fall then it went into Asthma . I am so glad to be going to the Adirondack Salt Cave. It has helped my breathing and loosens up the mucus. I love going and Dana and her girls that work there, plus Bryan, are terrific. I usually fall asleep as I am so relaxed. You enter the cave with the salt blocks and relax in comfy chairs, covered with a blanket, dim lights and soft music. Then Dana turns on the Halotherapy machine and we are there for 45 minutes.
