Thankfully, the therapist that I had was extraordinary - Christine. Since my knots have knots currently, she certainly had her work cut out for her. The couples massage takes place in the salt cave. What a lovely, zen space! I kinda want to move in.... I left there feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Christine warned me that I would be sore and to drink a lot of water. I was definitely sore - but a really good sore. I drank lots of water and clean iced herbal tea for the rest of the day. I feel fabulous today and I plan to book another massage within a reasonable amount of time to try and avoid getting into the physical mess that I'm in! FYI - they're still following covid protocols - which I personally think is great. Once in the salt cave, masks can be removed (but the therapists do keep them on currently). The front door stays locked, so call ahead to book appointments or to shop for anything relating to Himalayan salt products. I'll definitely be back!

I've had TMJ disorder since high school and, as I've aged, the flare-ups have gotten much worse--and way more frequent. My dentists over the years haven't been incredibly helpful; the only thing they really offer is a nightguard, which I basically wear until I gnaw holes through it. Rinse, repeat. Looking for more proactive solutions, I tried Botox--it offered relief, but not lasting relief. And it was EXPENSIVE. I've always loved massage, and I'd heard rumors of the slightly scary-sounding "intraoral" TMJ massages. I was shocked that no one local offers TMJ massage (or at least, don't advertise it). After expanding my search, I finally found the Salt Cave, 55 minutes away. Figuring it couldn't hurt to try, I emailed the Salt Cave and Jodee responded right away. I would travel to the ends of the earth for the relief that Jodee has given me. I haven't had a real TMJ flare-up since I've started seeing her, and I've been seeing her for about four months now. The miracles she has worked on my jaw are seriously ... well, miraculous. I'm no longer constantly massaging a swollen, painful cheek, or feeling that pop when I open my mouth too wide. Even after the first visit I noticed a seriously impressive difference. I'm more cognizant of my posture, my stress levels, and my face in general. Not only is Jodee amazing at TMJ massages, and not only is the pricing very reasonable for the amount of relief she provides. Jodee just also happens to be a darn sweetheart. These may not be the supremely relaxing spa massages we're used to falling asleep in, you may have to participate, and you even get homework, but I leave Jodee each time feeling energized, invigorated, and physically stronger than when I walked in. Jodee makes fun chitchat, checks in with you on comfort levels, and above all listens to you and your body. An example: one visit, I had recently suffered the worst migraine of my life, brought about by changing medications, high humidity, and PMS. I let Jodee know that I would likely have more jaw tension because of this ... and she went to town on my neck, working the specific muscles that were still screaming, while still not neglecting my jaw. She even educated me on the areas I can massage myself, and loaned me a neck-training device to see if it would help. She gets no money from that; I wouldn't be buying such a device from her. She's just that caring and kind, and genuinely wants to help people feel the best that they can. Jodee's a healer. And I didn't know that TMJ was something that could be healed or even improved, until I met her. Grateful for her every single day, and can't wait to see her again.

I knew very…read morewell that my husband and I were long overdue for a couples massage, and couldn't think of a better place to have a memorable experience than at the infamous Sagamore Resort, at their Opal Spa. My husband's family has only ever spoken about the Sagamore and we would be the very first to venture and visit! Excitement all around! We booked for a 1:30PM appointment, clearly stating each of our needs (my throbbing shoulders and my husband's plantar issues) prior to our visit. It was $180 per person, and knew the splurge would be well worth it! Upon entering the Sagamore, parking is free if you are visiting the spa, so we opted to valet for convenience. We were greeted at the counter warmly by the staff, and we were taken into the women and mens lounges to enjoy the complementary sauna and steam rooms prior to our service, if we wanted, or to enjoy after (which was what we did). I decided to hang our in the lounge since I had only a few minutes to my massage, and enjoyed my plush white robe, and had some cucumber water and some dried fruit to nibble on so my stomach wouldn't growl during the massage. We had Hendrick and Michael as our therapists, and within 5 minutes of my massage, Hendrick cracked my back to re-align it! My husband and I laughed and I sunk deeper into the massage table. Beautifully serene atmosphere and great attention to detail from beginning to end. My shoulder pain - GONE; my husband's plantar pain - GONE. This massage didn't hurt like so many I'd experienced over the years. This massage was skilled, and filled with intent to apply the right pressure for deep tissue without the unnecessary pain to follow. To top the experience with the cherry, when we left, we got to see the Mohican steamboat toot a salute to the Sagamore. It was amazing to see the steamboat from the Sagamore versus being on the Mohican. I hope I established a new spa tradition for my husband and I!

Then I was supposed to have a hot oil treatment which was never done. At the end I told the front desk and they said they had no time to do it but I can sit in the salt room. The smell was so bad I had to leave. I asked the woman who worked there why such an awful smell. I asked if it was from the salt and she said the smell was coming from something else but never said what. Last but not least at the end of the treatments they told you what products they used on you and if you want to purchase. I purchased face cream, face scrub and face wash. The face scrub never made it in my bag. I called and they said they checked the security camera and it shows it made it in someone's bag but certainly not mine. I spent $900.00 dollars between myself and grandaughter and for $58.00 they made it seem like I wanted the face scrub for free. Poor management on Nicole's side. Never again Mr. Gay who is the senior Management should look into this. Keep your cream but I will not be going back again. We were a party of 12.

This is the poorest county in all of New York State. Some people are disabled and need the massage therapy and sacrifice a lot of things in order to get the massage therapy. But, when the owner gets very upset that you're only giving her $20 tip. That itself was not a good idea as I have owned my own business as well.

I have muscle adhesions in my right piriformis, which has caused lower back pain, troubles/knots all down my right leg, and eventually contributed to me rolling my right ankle a few weeks ago. Atmosphere: When I got there they were very nice, professional, the place is clean, well decorated, very relaxing, take cash or card. Treatment: I opted for the 60 minute Chinese bodywork massage. It was wonderful. The piriformis can be a tough area to get into, but she knew how to manipulate my leg to get to it, unlike other masseuses I've been too. My lower back, leg, ankle felt so much better after the treatment. I know I'll need more treatments, however now I feel like my leg is getting better vs steadily getting worse. Other Comments: I don't get the previous reviewer. It's an Asian spa, how can you be so ignorant or intolerant to complain about Asian women speaking in their native language to each other. She must complain about cooks in Chinese restaurants, or girls at Korean nail salons too. I also had a second woman join my massage for a few minutes when nothing else was going on. Normally you have to pay extra for the 4 hand massage but they did not add it to my bill. Again, why would the previous reviewer complain about getting a higher level of service is beyond me. Also, as I was coming in 2 different guys were on their way out. Both separately were raving about how good their massages were and how they couldn't wait to return. I know I can't wait to come back and try the cupping or foot reflexology.
