I receive 20-25 emails a day from firms asking me to sell companies I do not own. I decided to respond to Flavia Milano from IAG M&A Advisors just to see how legitimate the outreach actually was. Within seconds of getting on the call, it was obvious she knew absolutely nothing about me, my background, or the company she was supposedly calling about. It was straight into a generic sales pitch about how they could help sell "my company." When I stopped her and pointed out that neither she nor IAG seemed to have done even the most basic due diligence before contacting someone, she blamed the "marketing team" for generating the lead and sending the email -- despite the email coming directly from her name and signature. That's a major red flag for anyone considering doing business with them. If a firm can't take five seconds to verify who they're contacting before pitching professional advisory services, it doesn't inspire much confidence in the quality of the rest of their process. Now, Flavia Milano is listed as working for this company on LinkedIn, but she is also listed on Exitvera Capital's website, so I don't know if there is a connection. One of her emails stated "Please let me know what works best or feel free to use this link to find the best time that fits your schedule: Book With Us - IAG https://calendly.com/iagteam/intro" so they must be linked Hopefully this feedback makes its way back to whoever is running these mass-email campaigns so the rest of us can receive a little less daily spam, and maybe Flavia could use it as a learning moment to do a bare minimum of research on someone before having a call with them.
