David said he thought he could start on them mid way through the following week and it wouldn't take long. I forgot to ask his fee and he didn't mention it either. I followed up 2.5 weeks later with a phone call after receiving no courtesy call of why it was taking so long for such a simple return. No return call for 2 business days. I emailed on the 3rd business day June 29th at 7am. He finally replied June 30 "missed your call I was out of the office". Not sure what his secretary does. June 30th he sent another email with total to be refunded asking for my signature to get direct deposit - still no mention of his fee. I emailed back asking for his fee and some other questions. He answered the other questions but not the fee / how much I owed him question.He gave the example of how he got the refund and I realized he did nothing special, apparently all the complexities weren't relevant due to how much I made that year. (not much LOL) He said the documents weren't ready to be sent to me as he had not "put them together" yet. I waited another week thinking about what to do. July 8th I called saying I was coming to pick up my documents. (I was giving up ready to do them myself.) He didn't understand and said again, "I haven't put them together yet". I explained, "no, I want my original documents back only". I came home and did my own taxes, simple 1040 on FreeTaxUSA.com in about 30 minutes. No fee to worry about being deducted from my return.
