Rude rude rude!!!!! Zero customer service manners. It's mind boggling that we are in the year 2021 and people still have zero customer service skills this place is very overpriced on top of having the worst customer service the guy that was at the register which I think was the owner was such a Ahole! I will use their competitor that also sells Sustaine pool products rather than this place. I can't see Spending my hard earned money giving it To a place like this that didn't even offer or hold the door open for me after i spent 300 dollars on Products which my hands were full I was baffled as the man and maybe his wife or employee just stood the watching they were waiting to close the store and leave, no thank you for shopping w us. One of the worst mistakes I've ever made was going with "Add on Pools" to do our in ground pool install. They quoted us a price that was literally doubled by the end. The day they showed up for the install, they told me they measured wrong and now the pool would need to be put in horizontally instead of vertically or else when it rained water would go into our home. I had to make a decision on the spot, with the pool waiting to be installed out in the street. I should have said to take it away in retrospect but after waiting months for the pool I just wanted to get it done. Once the pool was finally installed it looked great, but by next year all of the cement around the pool began changing color to a stained yellow. When I asked them to come take a look, a few of them came by individually and just stood their staring at the messed up cement dumbfounded. I got tired of them doing nothing and they became argumentative and I just gave up on them. I've waited over five years to post this review and I'm still so annoyed with them and our cement still looks terrible. They'll try to say the cement wasn't their fault but they are the ones who contracted this cement person and they never bothered to even attempt to resolve the issue. We were new to the neighborhood and they seemed like the place to go for local pool business but I warn everyone now stay away. read more

Let's tell it like it is.. My wife and I were put on a pedestal when we lay down tens-of-thousands of dollars for an inground pool and fireplace. We were delighted! Turn the page, we now regret our choice. Turns out, one of the owners & a salesman who lacks the ability to maintain a professional relationship to retain its customer base. He is curt, mono-toned and arrogant! *The Other owner and brother managing the service department, in my opinion_can walk on water. (No pun intended) _He is the best in the business! compromised thousands of dollars of business with me cause they wouldn't accept a return on a cheap week-old part. What company has a no return policy? Really never heard of one till this weekend. On top of that they were rude and looked completely bewildered at the thought of anyone even coming in to make a return. Not smart business. read more

Did my best to support a family owned business, but they lost another customer yesterday. The amount of attitude coming from one of their staff who tested my water yesterday me was unbelievable. BUYER'S BEWARE! I wanted a new in ground pool and went only to "Add On Pools", Middletown, NJ in March 2018 because I wanted to use a local family owned business. I didn't try or receive a price break. The Add On Sales Manager, brother, was kind and promised me that my family would be swimming before Memorial Day. Add On Pools contract states 1 year warranty on ALL workmanship and parts. I added the recommended upgraded liner at additional cost and extended warranty because I choose lined entrance steps. Add On never called me to update me on the many schedule delays. All permits, etc, were received on schedule. They blamed weather and it was late August before our liner was installed and we couldn't use the pool until Labor Day. Mid-July they broke ground and the next day - the 2nd brother aggressively, using foul language, accused my family of stealing a pump. Why would I steal a pump of which I invested over $57K? They left an open trench for over a week that ended up filling with rain run-off, causing water to seep into my basement window, marking my walls and carpet. They promised electrical lines that were never completed. I continued to try to be positive that these were are all small and we would enjoy our pool the next summer and for many more. We had Add On Pools close our pool the 1st week of October, after only being open for 4 weeks. Keep in mind, it was September with minimal use. Add On Pools re-opened our pool mid-May 2019 for our 1st swim season! Within the first week after opening, my daughter noticed 2 rust marks under the water-line, on the corner of our liner and it felt like nail heads protruding. I called Add On Pools to come over and look at it with me. Add On came on to my property with no one home, placed 2 noticeable UNMATCHING liner patches, and billed me $162. I called again, and stated that I had a new pool and the liner should be under warranty. Add On then told me that only the liner seams were under warranty and accused my family of damaging the liner by extreme force. I asked them to come over again on a day I was home to look at the liner and patches. Again, they entered my property, with no one home and replaced only 1 of the existing 2 UNMATCHED patches. I called several times to discuss the liner defect and workmanship warranty. No success, they continually accused my family of poking holes. Ironically, when I originally bought the upgraded liner, Add On Pools told me that they have the same liner and it is so strong that their dogs swim in the pool - with no damage. Their only compensation was not charge for patching the new liner. In total, Add On Pools came to my house on two separate occasions when I was not home, placing patches without my permission, and billed me for these services. Before the end of our 1st year August 2019, my daughter noticed a new 3rd rust mark, in the same area, much lower toward the bottom of the pool where the original holes had occurred. Again, I called and was told that all they would do is patch the 3rd hole. I felt lumps on the wall and at this point I thought it was workmanship. I made them pull the liner back to see the problem. The pool wall was severely rusted from the original liner holes being there all winter. Again, they accused my family of damaging the liner by extreme abuse upon opening. Add On Pools told us our only option was to patch the pool or pay for a new liner. The 3rd brother also threaten me by saying, if I had any other company look or touch the pool - all warranties would not be covered. I was leaving on vacation and needed to close the pool. The 1st week of October, Add On Pools patched the new 3rd hole and 1 of the original patches from the backside of the liner. But they could not replace 1 of the obvious UNMATCHED patches due to removing the patch will cause unrepairable damage to the liner. I had a private company close the pool and sadly I am consulting a lawyer to seek Lemon Law and Add On Pool Warranties. Add On Pools is still continues to try to receive payment for the liner patches by leaving collection phone messages and bills - which they also said they would not charge. I have agonized with the idea of writing this review for months, and it is hard for me to have to do so. However, I wanted to let others know of the trouble my family and I had in the process of building and 1st year warranty of Add On Pools over this past year. Two of the three brothers were consistently unprofessional, rude, and aggressive. In trusting a local, family owned business, it was disheartening to have a stressful experience with consistent issues. Building a new pool should be a fun, joyous collaborative process between customer and company. I felt my concerns were never heard or properly addressed by Add On Pools. I called Add On Pools after each concern in a kind and understanding manner to better learn about how to resolve problems. However, I felt Add On Pools made me feel that I was a nuisance read more

Great staff they know there business. However it is family owned and operated, the ladies at the counters are rude and about as friendly as and Asp! Rather go to Leslie's chemicals are cheaper there. Also shop around for patio furniture can be had for less elsewhere are on line. read more

I've only shopped here for pool chemicals and some outdoor accessories, but what I've experienced so far, I've loved. It's a little out of the way for me, but the personal service keeps me coming back. Bring in your pool water and get a free, computerized reading, plus recommendations for how to balance the water - both digital, from the water-reading program, and personal, from the person interpreting your results and making recommendations for you. Pool chemicals seem to actually make up only a small part of their business: Add-On also carries a large selection of pool accessories, patio furniture and outdoor accessories, including Weber grills and tons of parts and accessories for those. They sell fireplaces also, and apparently install pools and spas - their outdoor "showroom" of pools always makes me want to jump in! Some of the patio furniture they sell is higher-end, and higher-priced, but I often see 50%-off discounts attached. Who knows, maybe one of those sets will end up on my deck. read more

I had a gas fireplace installed in my home. I found Bill Jr.was very rude to speak with. The other gentleman that works there was much better. Not super happy about the product that was installed. It also took numerous phone calls to actually get it in on their schedule to come over and do the work. I should have gone elsewhere. read more

Love love love this company! They took care of us as if we were family. Our original 40yr old pool collapsed after hurricane sandy and they handled the situation professionally. Trust their experience, knowledge and kindness. We now have a a beautiful new pool to last at least another 50 years! read more

We've been loyal and very happy customers of Add on for 30+ years. They've installed two pools for me, serviced and repaired my mom's pool years ago and I trust them so much have refereed them to many of my friends, who in turn had Add On install and service their pools. They're as happy as we are. I stick to the chemicals they suggest and have not had a single problem in nearly 20 years of owning my own pool(s). If i ever sell this house and buy another you can bet we'll be using Add on to install another pool for us. Great business, great people and great service.. read more
