Terrible job! Way too expensive and it didn't even fit. Had to take them somewhere else. Don't use this place. They are junk!

Alterations by Deloris - One of the Jackets tailored by Ms. DeLoris

I wish I had taken a before picture…read more This small shop is located right between the Kangaroo gas station and mini mart on 16th street. If you are heading west, it is right before Main Street and if you are heading east, it is right after Main Street. The shop is run by Ms. DeLoris - or Ms. D - who has been a seamstress for 20+ years. As the only one running the shop, I recommend coming in with some degree of patience if there is a line. She will take the time to help multiple clients at once, but with her recent hip surgery, it might take some time, BUT it is WELL worth the wait. Purely on a whim -and honestly out of desperation- I went in on a Tuesday with three suit jackets that needed to be tailored before a major business conference the following Wednesday. She sent me to the back of the store where there are 2 (possibly 3) dressing rooms and mirror. She fitted the jackets to me as we talked clothing in general and she told me she would have them ready by the Tuesday. Now, I can't lie. I was a little worried. Ms. D is a sweetheart, but as the sole seamstress with a high demand based on her shop, I wasn't sure if she would meet the deadline in time. HOWEVER, the following Tuesday came around and I called the number on the business card provided to check on the three jackets. Ms. D told me that they would be ready by 8:00 pm, and if earlier, she'd give me a call. At 7:00pm, I got the call and came in to pick them up. My jackets were PERFECT. I honestly almost cried considering the horror stories out there about bad alterations. I cannot say enough about how nice of a job she did and how the jacket fit in comparison to before. It was the confidence boost needed to nail an interview with a company at the conference. A $90 well spent ($30 per suit jacket)! The only caveat to this shop is that it is only open for walk in drop-offs/consultations from I believe 4:00pm - 6:30pm. HOWEVER, if needed, a simple phone call is enough to let her know if you need to come earlier or later. She worked with me after hours as a first time client and I am sure, with kindness and patience, she would do the same for anyone else.

She is reasonably priced and a honest worker. She communicates well and can get things done at a reasonable time. I am so grateful for her expertise and craftsmanship. I won't go anywhere else!

I can't wait until break cause I have a short partly-shaved cut that requires a lot of maintenance. I settled on the Tease because of positive word of mouth, reasonable price, and the cuts on her Facebook page seeming most similar to mine. I was very happy with the service I received! She was very attentive to what I wanted and kept checking in to see how I wanted to handle a certain area of my hair. I have a lot of social anxiety but I felt comfortable with the level of conversation she and I had. I could tell she was super experienced and confident. Would definitely recommend seeing Amber!

The Tease is such a secret gem existing totally under the radar in this town. I visited Amber (the…read moreshop owner) after I endured my first ever hair crisis following a visit to a popular salon in town. I visited said salon on a mission to go blonde and the bleach job, wash, and blow dry took five hours total and I walked out completely unimpressed with the insanely expensive disaster I was left to spend 48 hours crying over. I got shifts covered at work and pretty much didn't leave the house until I could get the mess corrected. Amber is so unintimidating, easy to talk to and be honest with, down to earth, experienced and super knowledgable, and she LISTENS to you loud and clear. She has the tools, the talent, and the experience to satisfy most if not all visions. I told her my hair crisis story, flipped through three pictures of the color I was aiming for the first time around, she whipped up some semi-permanent dye, and worked a frigging miracle. She was worth every penny and I left feeling relaxed, relieved, and eager to return. Before I arrived, I was toying with the idea of playing it completely safe by returning to the borning brunette I've been for years after feeling disenfranchised by my first salon experience but now I'm totally excited to sit in Amber's chair for future touch-ups. NOW blonde can be fun! I urge everyone looking for a solid hairdresser/colorist to visit The Tease and give your money and support to the coolest little salon and hair talent in Gainesville.

I hardly do alterations on my clothing because of how expensive it can be, but I have had two items…read morethat needed to be altered and I am so glad that I found this location on Google! It's located on 34th street in the plaza with Winn Dixie, so it's not too far from campus or 35th street. It's ran by an Asian woman who is very nice and I can tell she has been sewing for years. I needed one of my boyfriend's pants hemmed tighter around the thigh and calf area without cutting any material. She has you try on the clothing in one of the dressing rooms in the shop and then stand in front of the mirror so that your clothing can be pinned. She gave me her opinions on what should be hemmed and how the pants should fit, which was helpful! I also needed the pants done in 2 days time (which is considered a rush job) and she said she would have it done with no extra charge! I know other places would have charged an arm and a leg, so that was awesome! I've also had her sew the straps on my dress tighter and she did that for $15 in two days! The reason I am giving this place only 4 stars is because there are no set prices or a price list to look at. You have to physically bring in the clothes so she can tell you a price - which is fine, but I would at least like to see an estimated price list so I know how much it will cost me and if her final price is way off than what it should be.
