    Zeus & my puppy, Cairo

Hiring Shane was the best decision I made for my 6m old bully puppy! My puppy started becoming people reactive & he gave so many helpful tips on how to help socialize my dog to the world. He's also very hands on, willing to demonstrate, and will walk you through the process to help you train your dog. My puppy has improved so much since we started seeing him & slowly becoming more and more confident around people. My puppy is also so much more obedient at home, which I am extremely happy about. Shane is also respectful & very straightforward, which really helps as the owner, bc we know exactly what we need to do & how it has to be done. We also live in San Diego & seeing Shane is worth the hour drive knowing that my puppy is in the best hands with someone that we trust. Strongly recommend if anyone is looking for a trainer

Working with Shane has been amazing. My dog Lady was fearful and reactive. I was scared to walk my own dog because she would lunge at people and other dogs. Shane has taught us so many strategies that have helped Lady become a confident dog and us confident dog owners.

Shane is such an amazing trainer! I highly recommend he is honest and very transparent which helps so much because he wants to make sure you understand how your dog thinks so you are able to build a relationship and get the most out of your training. I have learned so much from him and it has really helped me and my Josie so much. I can finally take her out and not have to worry about her behavior. One thing I really appreciated was that he did not force me to do anything he simply suggested certain things and let me decide if I wanted to incorporate his suggestions in my routine with my dog for instance, I really didn't want to crate train my dog and when he suggested it I turned it down and he did not force me or give up on Josie because of my choice... I eventually just ended up trusting him and saw amazing results lol. If you are looking for a trainer he will not disappoint. 10/10

My German Shepherd, Rip and Shane's best bud, Zeus. My dog couldn't be around another dog calmly or quietly, but Shane proved me wrong!

The entire team was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. At the start of boarding, Darcey was able to pinpoint the key areas that needed work. Throughout the training process, we received regular updates, including informative notes, photos, and videos that showed just how much progress our pup was making. It gave us so much confidence and peace of mind knowing he was in such great hands. The information shared also helped to prepare us on his return, specifically the steps we needed to take to enforce his training. On pickup day, Elias took the time to walk us through all the commands and detail best practices moving forward. His attention to detail, depth of knowledge, and ability to clearly communicate everything really stood out not just to us, but even to outsiders observing the session. Everyone was genuinely impressed! The transformation in our pup has been amazing--he's noticeably calmer, more attentive, and much better at listening. This is a level of progress we couldn't have achieved on our own. We're so grateful to Darcey and her team and we would not hesitate to work with them again. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for exceptional dog training!

We had an introductory meeting and felt very comfortable. He walked through his 3 week and 5 week board and train options and what to expect with each. We chose the 5 week program which trains him to basic commands on AND off leash. It was super difficult to hand over our dog for 5 weeks, but as difficult as it was, I can honestly say it was worth it. Simply put, it was life changing for us. Bryan provided weekly updates and videos so we could see how our dog was doing and help us get over missing him. Our dog still has his silly personality, but is now controllable on and off leash. Bryan was able to improve his mindset so not only does he obey commands, but has learned to relax. I cannot recommend Bryan more highly.

As the year went on, it was increasingly difficult to train him and he was just overpowering the kids. He didn't realize his own size and just wanted to play so much, but in playing, he would knock over the kids and it lead to most of his day needing to be spent in his crate. He had so much energy after getting out that he would pull constantly and just be his own dog. My spouse and I decided to look for help. We looked everywhere and vetted big business to small business. This was a very long process and somehow stumbled upon this page. I was very intrigued by a lot of the previous reviews. Almost too good to be true reviews. Eventually Contacted the owner (Bryan) and we had a good conversation. Started with questions about the dogs personality, what the goal and objective was, and how to get there. I don't want to go into too much detail because that conversation was so refreshing. I knew from that convo that Bryan was a true dog lover and trainer. Not someone just trying get the $$$$ After the conversation, we had a meet and greet and that went even better than the phone conversation. Bryan went into great detail the steps in what the board and train entails. My spouse and I were immediately invested. Both for the family and the happiness of our dog. We wanted happiness for everyone. We scheduled the time for the board and train (Took the 4 week option). We felt this was the best option for our family and our dog. It was an investment in our family and I wanted the best So now it's time to drop off Rufus. It was weird not having him in our home but knew it was for the best. Bryan again gave great detail into all the steps and what would happen during the 4 weeks. Each Friday for the 4 weeks we would get a private YouTube link on everything Rufus learned and his progress. Within the first week, he was a completely different dog. I've never seen him listen so much on the video. Those videos are all self explanatory so I wont get into those details either. Just know that they are very well detailed videos and you wont help but smile on your dogs progress Each week was upped to the next level of the defined training and it was a joy watching all the changes that have been made. As the weeks crept up to us getting Rufus back, we were excited with anticipation. On the day of pickup, we went through our own owner training with Bryan. Got very detailed with what we needed to do and how to continue the training for the rest of his life. It ended up being really fun. Rufus has now been home for a week and he his fully integrated to the home. He has a special place in our living room. The kids are happy they can play with him and pet him. Rufus is all smiles, droll and tail wags. This was indeed life changing for our family. Also Side note, Bryan made himself available for Boarding as well. We have been using the boarding services before and after the board and train. Experience was way better than any dog hotel I've used in the past for extended family trips. Bryan was the most genuine when it came to his business. You can tell he loves what he does. That's how I knew this was the place to go. I highly recommend. Also, even though board and train has been completed, he still checks on us after. He will be available for the life of the dog. Def cant go wrong with that

I love the question she asks, how she approaches each dog, and how she only uses positive reinforcement to guide the training. The quality I admire the most in Barbara's training is her ability to meet the dog where it is at.  If the task being asked of a dog is too hard for the dog to successfully complete, she finds a way to scale it back so the dog and the family working with dog can succeed. Barbara brings an optimism backed by her vast experience to each training session and she always takes the time to evaluate the dog so she's able to create an effective training regimen. I've been lucky enough to work with Barbara in person and on Zoom and both platforms are effective.   My current dog, Molly, had a bite history before she came to me in 2022. Thanks to Barbara, Molly and I have established a solid relationship based on trust and communication around food (especially her food bowl) and we have not had any incidents. In addition to the resource guarding, Molly also lacked impulse control and had no frustration tolerance at first...she was 7 years old when I got her so Molly's behaviors were deeply ingrained in her by then. It is only because of the work and learning we did with Barbara that Molly and I have been able to develop an amazing relationship. People we meet are always surprised to hear that Molly was anything but the perfect well-rounded companion by my side that they see. Before working with him, walks were stressful and unpredictable, especially when we'd run into people with multiple dogs or a dog that was reactive on leash. Now I actually look forward to our walks. I feel calm, in control, and I know exactly how to respond in those situations instead of feeling overwhelmed. Two of my dogs, Paulie (my Great Dane) and Axel (my miniature pinscher), have had incredible transformations. Paulie is so much more focused and responsive, and Axel--who used to be on high alert the entire time--can now pass other dogs without going into full chaos mode. Seeing the progress in both of them has been amazing and honestly emotional. What makes Coach Mike stand out is that he doesn't just train your dogs--he trains you. He explains the "why" behind everything, walks you through real-life scenarios, and makes sure you leave each session feeling capable and confident. Thanks to him, when I see another owner with multiple dogs or a leash-aggressive dog, I don't panic--I handle it. This has been one of the best investments I've ever made for my dogs and my peace of mind. If you're looking for someone who truly changes your day-to-day life with your dogs, Coach Mike is the one.

I am re-posting this and putting things in chronological order. I am a disabled person; I really needed a trainer because the dog was too wild and if you return a dog to the pound then that dog gets put down. When I adopted this new Pitt, I also adopted another one that was left to die at the pound at 14 years old. I kept that other, much older one for 9 months, and finally just found a forever home for him (he didn't like to be left alone at my house and was very unhappy). So for my new Pitt Puppy (not the older dog), the manager gave me a discount and my money was scarce (and some other trainers charge like 10 grand a month) so I thought it was a good deal. At first, he was friendly, but he soon became constantly rude and ridiculous. I only kept him on because he already had been training my dog and every time I went to go visit her, she seemed okay. She didn't seem abused at any point--until the end. So I had had problems getting the new puppy pitt to get along with my other German Shepherd, so I was taking one, leaving the other, and so on. But my pitt puppy was always there. Then one day I came to pick her up and she had wounds on all of her feet. Her back leg was bleeding. Mike Williams, the trainer, would not even talk to me about any of this, he just gave me attitude and kept complaining about "being fired" by me--because I was firing him right then. All he cared about was being fired. I realize dogs can get wounded at a kennel, so I was open minded and tried to give him a chance, but this was ridiculous. I really tried to ask him what could have caused this. He just got angry. On the way home, I realized she had something (a wound or rash or whatever?) on her face also. I took her to the vet ($650) and the vet said she had wounds consistent with fence injuries and a puncture wound on her back leg and something on her face. I found a very difficult road to get more money, and took my puppy to a new trainer, and that trainer said that "as soon as you put the dog into a kennel--she acts like a rabid dog." I couldn't believe it, so they videotaped it and showed me. They said the prior trainer must have abused her "in the kennel" so she could learn to react like this. I adopted her from a kennel setting and she had never acted like this at all. I had had her for months and nursed her back from a serious case of pneumonia she had gotten at the dog pound, so I knew her and she was not like this at all. During my time paying MIke Williams, he did the following and this is all factual: --he got confused on paid money and then said, "You know I smoke Bud, right?;" --talked to me about the personal business of his clients; --acted rudely and angry and criticized me literally every time I saw him about things not dog related; --told me not to ever give a dog unnecessary affection (constantly said that); --constantly complained about the discount he gave me; --told me he "just wanted to never get another bad review" (to which I replied, aren't you more concerned about giving good service?); -- when I pulled up for his supposed weekly coaching sessions, he ignored me to recruit new clients walking up and down the street; --he bragged about hitting his own dogs but said it would never happen to client's dog (I never saw any clues he abused my dogs and he was very delicate with them in front of me); --I never saw any bad reviews on him (Google) and he sold me on kindness to start off);--when I asked him not to become angry, he said, "Don't say I'm angry!" and got all bothered about that. So the vet bills costed me $650 and I had to look for a new trainer. The new trainers say they are clearly cleaning up the mess from this trainer. I had pre-paid two weeks of fees (hundreds) and he said he'd refund me when I told him i wasn't coming back. He told me he would refund me more than once. Then he never did. The damage he did to my dog psychologically is the main concern--and the physical damage was bad but went away quickly. This is just unbelievable. I really worry about my puppy now and am spending lots of money fixing the mess Mike Williams and his facility caused. He really should not be allowed near dogs at all. When I got my dog home, she drank water for two minutes straight. I have never seen that before. I am utterly disgusted and very angry that he would mistreat a caged animal. One must be a coward to mistreat an animal with a lower IQ than a small child. My groomer said he probably kicked the cage every day. I will never know if he did--but the damage is done. Now I am a disabled person, I am and was doing the best I can. I am just warning other dog owners so they can avoid him. I wish I would have read yelp.

This is a bit long, but stick with me, it's worth the read. :)…read more I want to share this because I know how overwhelming life with dogs can feel when things spiral out of control, and because truly great dog trainers are rare. Last year, I lost my dog Chloe. I had her for 15 years, and losing her completely broke my heart. Afterward, I adopted Lily, a multipoo who had never been out of a cage. She came from a puppy mill and was deeply traumatized. She shook constantly, wouldn't come to me, wouldn't let me touch her, and had severe anxiety. She was peeing and pooping in the house nonstop. I tried everything I knew. I tried love, patience, reassurance. Nothing worked. I was exhausted and completely at a loss. Then life threw me another curveball. A client of mine broke her hip after tripping over her dog and had to move into assisted living. I took in her one-year-old Schipperke named Daisy. If you aren't familiar with this breed, 'the little black devil.' Daisy is the sweetest, smartest dog in the world and also an absolute mischievous chainsaw in a tiny body. Endless energy, barking at people and dogs, running through the house nonstop, biting my neighbor on the ankle and even the gardener, and bullying Lily relentlessly. My house turned into chaos overnight. On top of that, I still had my 13-year-old dog Rocky, who is basically the best-behaved dog on the planet and thankfully not part of the problem. I didn't know what to do anymore. That's when I called Jennifer. Jen took Daisy for a two-week board-and-train, and when Daisy came home, she was a completely different dog. Not perfect, but honestly a million times better. She sleeps in a crate now, no longer bullies Lily, listens extremely well, and while she still barks, it's nothing like before. We're still working on it with Jen, but the transformation was incredible. After that, I sent Lily to Jen. What happened next honestly felt like a miracle. Lily no longer pees or poops in the house. She sleeps in a crate. She comes when I call her. She's happy. She plays. She acts like a dog now, not a scared abuse victim. She still has moments of anxiety and fear, but she is doing a million times better, and the difference is night and day. Jen didn't just train my dogs. She gave them structure, confidence, and safety. She gave me peace in my own home again. She understands dogs on a level that is rare, especially dogs with trauma, anxiety, and behavioral challenges. If you are struggling, overwhelmed, or don't know what else to do, I cannot recommend Jen enough. She is patient, intuitive, honest, and incredibly skilled. She truly changed our lives.

At the time I hired this company for training, Bogey was 16 months old. I'm not expecting Bogey to be Lassie or anything close, and I'm not blaming the trainer or any of his employees for Bogey's behavior.  A little bit of background on Bogey. He was traumatized by someone when he was 6 months old while at a doggie day care.  Bogey and my son-in-law, who my dog used to get along great with, changed after the incident at the day care. My daughter and son-in-law were there to watch the presentation for the training company. The trainer saw Bogey's reaction to my son-in-law, obvious signs of fear and apprehension, and convinced us he could change Bogey's behavior. My daughter and I signed up with this company, feeling assured the trainer could change this behavior in Bogey. It was a $2700 investment combined. Due to Bogey's reaction to my son-in-law, my main concern was to get help in changing this behavior and stressed this concern with the trainer. Unfortunately the sessions seem to only focus on sitting, staying and placing. Honestly, I became frustrated with them only "training" me on how to teach Bogey how to sit, stay etc and NEVER addressing the reason I hired them. This is what caused me to quit going to there "group lessons". I felt it was truly a waste of my time and apparently not a concern of their's either, having paid $2700 for a lifetime of training. In addition, no effort has been made on their part to reach out to me to find out why I quit going. Now that I am living with my daughter and her family,  Bogey is traumatized throughout the day. When he sees my son-in-law, who works from home, he will hide behind furniture and won't socialize with other family members. This behavior only happens around my son-in-law. Bogey is so fearful he will urinate in the house and has even done so on my granddaughter.  I can't afford to hire another trainer now and am questioning if this company lacks concern for their clients or possibly it's a lack of knowledge on how to properly train a dog with behavioral issues. This has put me in a difficult situation and I now have to decide whether to let this trauma continue daily, not what I want, or find a new home for Bogey, which I also do not want. That's no life for any family member. So if you're looking for someone to teach you how to say "sit", "stay" or "place", this may be the company I would recommend but I feel that they may be limited in their training skills. If you're looking for a company that will follow up with you, you might want to keep looking for someone that cares about results and accomplishments. There were many other things that showed lack of attention on their part but the one thing I was hoping for never was addressed even when I brought it up. They either lack the skill to train out behavior issues or they simply don't care. If you look at their own post on Facebook, their only focused is on sit, stay and come. No mention of training out negative behaviors. No success stories about other training issues.
