Update: they didn't repair the damage the oil leak caused that they were at fault for. Fast forward, I give them a chance again. I requested the replacement of my oil filter housing. They charged me 2900.00. 500 miles later my belly pan falls off on the highway. My belts slip off the pulleys they said needed to be removed then put back on. This was while driving 25mph. Open the engine bay for the first time since service I discover (to my horror) broken pieces and missing pieces that I had pictures of being there before service. Made it look like a 12 year old who didn't put the right WASHER on my oil plug also did this work. Feeling like I also might have been had (kind of a trusting veteran) I get quotes from Audi Central and Lucas. Audi quoted 2.2hr and parts equaling 1397.00. Lucas same labor time 997.00 Both mechs informed me they did so much "work" that wasn't required for the oil filter housing replacement. More than 1500.00 than a dealership AND it must have had an uncertified tech given the state of my car after the 3 times they "serviced it". Avoid if you have a euro car for sure. read more

This place will never get another penny from me! Literally hate them from the bottom of my heart. Sent my son to get an oil change yesterday, as soon as he called I said no, I'm not paying $1,000 for whatever bs they're selling you. Of course they tell him there's an oil leak and to replace it, it's $1000. They send him home in an uber, and keep the car-I called around and got quotes and the part (valve cover) itself is less than $100, (can even be found at Autozone for $10 btw) with the labor included and warranty less than $200. Because we didn't get the car serviced with them after it was in their possession overnight, they made us pay for the uber and miraculously the work needed was quoted at $754 plus tax with the same 12 month warranty. Used a $30 off coupon for the $90 oil change, but they added the uber charge so yea still $100 for an oil change. We will never see these people again, overpriced, and will definitely try to "persuade" aka swindle you into getting work done there while charging for every single thing. And please don't let me start on my husband's car, he paid over 3k and less than a month later the same problem was there-same sensor light, making the same noise, etc! I took European car in because I had a coolant light on. They identified that the coolant tank was leaking. My car is warranty with Land Rover so they topped off the coolant and advised to go to Land Rover since it's already covered. They also changed my oil but didn't put quite enough so it wasn't reading. Coby went above and beyond- driving to my car and topped me off. I had used Adams in the past for service on a car. I received great service and a fair price. I took my truck to get a quote for a squeaky brake noise. I know a little about cars as I spent a summer working in a garage. They quoted me a ridiculous price. They tried to "sell" me on their honesty. I felt like I was being ripped off. They pressure you to do it immediately and even told me I was risking a "bigger" cost if I drove my truck away. They offered to take me home and pick me up but I had to do the service right then! I took my business to a different place and their price was $600 less. I called them this morning to get a quote for a tune up. Simple. I called a few other places and they were happy to give me a ball park price. Adams was different. Wouldn't give me a quote and pressured me to come in. They wanted to come and "pick up" my car. I just wanted a simple quote. They won't do it. If you want to be pressured and overcharged, this is the place for you. read more

After seeing the reviews, I am now questioning what they are saying. My son had taken my car somewhere else since i had a doctors appointment and the first place charge $300 and did nothing. So I bring my car to Adams and told that my alternator goes below the minimum of 13, so my alternator needed to be replaced. so they spend a while figuring that out and then tell me that the total for it to be replace is $1,499.74. I asked for a breakdown and $199 for the diagnostics, $399.92 for tools(does that mean that i get the tools afterwards?) $618 for my alternator and $121.90 for the belt. please tell me that this isn't a rip off and will i experience issues after getting my car back???? read more

I went in needing my entire taillight replaced and the part online is only about $100. I was quoted $1,056 for the replacement. They wanted to charge over $900 in just labor. After mansplaining what a state inspection is for, they told me it would be two hours because they do a comprehensive, bumper-to-bumper diagnostic exam before they do the inspection, then went on with a "for example" potential issue of power steering. I explained that my car was only two years old, still under service warranty, and having regular maintenance. That did not deter them from continuing on with their condescending tone so I left. My Dad had a garage. I know more than the average male does about cars. Word to the wise for other females, this is a ploy to get you to purchase service that you probably don't need in order to pass your vehicle. I came by with a used car I recently bought that had a lot of issues surface shortly after purchasing. I had been to 3 mechanics with this car before deciding to give Adams a try. As you'll soon see, the service I received and my service advisor Coby far surpassed my expectations. When I pulled up for my appointment time, a gentleman immediately opened my door for me and told me he would notify my service advisor, Coby, that I had arrived. Coby came out promptly, listened empathetically to what I had been going through with the car, and recommended a full bumper-to-bumper inspection in order to fully document everything wrong with the car. Then he called an Uber to get me to work. While my car was getting serviced the communication from Coby was excellent. Any time I called he made himself available to explain exactly what they had found so far and when they would be done with the service. When I picked the car up the price wasn't a penny more than what we had discussed when I dropped the car off. Coby went through the issues with the car and had extensive photos and written documentation of ALL the issues. Additionally, he made a repair plan with the associated costs quoted to help me make the best decision I could. All in all, I was extremely happy with the service I received. I see a lot of reviewers commenting on the high price of Adams. While I am sure they are not the cheapest mechanic in Houston, I can confidently say they will treat you the best. The lobby is clean and smells good, and the staff is sure to offer free refreshments, if the service takes a while they will shuttle or Uber you to where you want to be, and most importantly, this is the first mechanic I have been to where I felt confident I was in good hands. This place is way overpriced - They say they are a Mercedes shop but they can't even fix or diagnose a stuck convertible top correctly! Said they lack the computer to do the work. But that they would do my brake job and hand deliver the car to dealer to finish the work on the top. They quoted my brake job 1k over what the dealer would have charged to do it. Like an idiot I believed the salesman that tax wasn't included on my dealer quote and they were also doing additional work. After it was all said and done I paid way more than I should of and they still couldn't fix my original problem with the convertible being stuck. The dealer got it resolved but said it looked like someone took the parts apart and charged me $900???? Adams said it was a simple computer update that should cost me a max of $250. Called to inquire about the part being messed with and was told they would get back to me... Guess what? Surprise! They never followed through. Took BMW in for service 100,000 miles on it , said would be about $4500 to repair took it back bevcause car smoked and smelled of oil. The mechanic drove it for two days said no oil leak must have been spilt on car in repair. 8 days later took advantage of "Free" inspection, said had another $4,000 worth of work to di! I wish I had read the reviews before I went there, but I just needed a simple oil change. I knew I had a small oil leak as there were a few drips in my driveway so I knew there was something minor going on. They told me there was a big leak in my oil and gave me an estimate of almost $1400 to fix. I did not have them fix it at that time as I knew there was only a few drops coming out and wanted to speak with my son first. Recently I pulled in my driveway and noticed the oil in my driveway is 10 times the size it was before I went to Adam's. I checked the estimate they gave me, and at the very beginning it said that when I arrived the check engine light was on. my CEL was NOT on (and still is not on). This, combined with all the oil in my driveway, makes me leary of them and wonder if they made the leak worse! Being a single female, this is why I dislike mechanics! place is a scam and would suggest no one to ever go there. My girlfriend brought her toyota four runner for an oil change. They tried to convince her that she had a leak in her steering column and they would give her a discount to drop the price down to $4000 for the repair. I told her to hold off until my mechanic gave it a look. he said there was absolutely nothing wrong with the steering column but the new struts, shocks and pads previously replaced by Adam's were worn out way too quickly. It's shameful considering that work was also done by Adam's. Its even worse that her and her family have been loyal customers of there's for years. every time I get a promotion or coupon in the mail makes me angry and I immediately throw them away. they also call her all the time... very pathetic and not a trustworthy company read more

I paid over $11k for my son's car to be repaired and then we find out that there was a part that wasn't properly done and my son took it back to be done. Fast forward to several hours later, my son is driving on the highway and sees a light show up on the dash indicating that his coolant level is low. He pulls into a parking lot, raises the hood and sees a steady stream of coolant pouring out. It appears that the garage pierced the radiator during the repair for the other part. Mind you, the radiator was one of the things previously repaired by the garage. I feel that I was overcharged and taken advantage of. So disappointing. read more

"But hey I think we should just replace the whole drive shaft since it's only $3 more"... called for quotes from 3 other places and all were ranged between $300 and $500 to replace u joints...$700 to replace a drive shaft lol. I will never bring my car here again for ANYTHING. I came here at 5PM for a simple state inspection & was told that I "didn't pass" because my battery was about to fail. Mind you, my battery light has never come on & my battery is only a year old. They were very pushy about it & INSISTED that I didn't replace it, my car would fail. They then quoted me $400 & when I told them I didn't have the funds, they suggested I finance with Synchronicity with 0% interest for 6 months. I asked if it would be a hard pull or a soft pull and was assured that it would be a soft pull. Lo and behold, they ran my application for $2500 which was WAY over the amount I needed & I was denied. Now I have a HARD inquiry added to my credit report. They then randomly brought out a Pathfinder for me to drive (without consulting me) so they could KEEP my car until I had the money. I insisted that I would not to taking a loaner car NOR bringing my car in get the battery Their sales strategy is to make you wait long times and wear you out so you give in to any bogus service they recommend & pay their ridiculous prices. They even get offended when you say you want to get other quotes or get a second opinion. After repeatedly telling the salesman that I would simply leave without the inspection and that leaving without my car wasn't an option, they FINALLY gave me my keys back at 6:30 ALONG with a PASSED state inspection report ... Guess what time my inspection report was finished ? 5:25PM. They spent an extra hour trying to get money out of me to pay for services I didn't need. Do yourself a favor and go to an auto shop you can actually trust. read more

Very confusing - Watch out for Coupon that is worthless! Took my German car in for inspection and service because the engine light was on and display indicated that "service A" was needed. Technician called and said that the inspection failed and they needed to do a diagnostic check to determine what was wrong. We had received a coupon in the mail from them listed as an "FREE Diagnostics Voucher / Warning Light Illuminated? Scan onboard computer for trouble codes and advise". After getting the diagnostic completed we had them do an oil change and went to pick up the car. My wife provided the coupon to which they said that the coupon was not for the diagnostic check and we had to pay almost $200 for this. He stated that the coupon was just to scan and that scans are always free!?! What is the coupon for if the scan is always free??? He couldn't answer and just said again "scans are free". read more

This review is incredibly reactionary as I'm writing this while my car is still being worked on by their shop (could be a bad decision on my part). But I just got off the phone with their rep, so I feel like this is the most honest review I can provide. I took my car to Adams last month. The main issue was my AC was blowing warm air.....not great in a Texas summer. They took a day to investigate, ran some dye thru the system, and said they found the source of the problem which was the fuse box in my Jeep Grand Cherokee. Apparently a known issue with the make/model. In addition they found my oil filter housing & assembly were leaking. Total of $2600 to fix, but the good news was these would then be covered by Adams's 3 year, 36k mile warranty. Fast forward to this month....my AC improved for a week after taking it to Adams but progressively got worse in the following weeks. I take it to Adams again thinking "Sweet I have a warranty", and they discover there's a leak at the condenser. They found this by running dye through my vehicle like they did last month. They give me an explanation of why the dye worked this time but not last time...but ultimately I'm trusting their word on something I deem very coincidental and unlucky (one month apart, same broke AC). This time, I'm out another $1k as this fix doesn't apply to their warranty. A total of $3600+ in 1 month to fix the same problem. This is a family run business, but honestly, I feel like I got taken advantage of like I would have if I brought this car into a dealership's auto shop. I was in a very tight spot financially I had purchased some parts to do the repair myself, but it turns out I was not able to and they drove me back to the store using there connections to give me a refund without a receipt or the original card and they worked with me very diligently and heard out my situation to find the best possible solution for me Mr.Chaz and Mr.Donovan walked me through every step of the way and truly just made the experience memorable I won't lie. Very concerning. Been coming here for 20+ years. Brought in my Jaguar with the check engine light on. They literally kept my car 2+ weeks, charged us over $2,000 only to have my car returned with the check engine light still on. They said it was a harness problem, very pricey. I am very disappointed all the situation I have experienced with this shop brought my car in October because it was giving issues by overheating. That I notice on time brought here to get fixed because a family member recommended the place because he had the best experience ever. However we in December and my car is still giving me issues brought back multiple time for the same issue now I get call that I have to replace my motor. Like how did it got to this level when I constantly brought back because it was not right since the moment they gave it back to me. Beware anyone with an expensive exotic or European car. They wanted to do over $5000 in what they said was necessary maintenance work and they lure you in by a so called warranty. When I said don't do anything I'm picking up the car one of the mangers told me most of the work including a battery they wanted to put in for $600 was not really necessary. I took my Cadillac in a few weeks ago for a routine oil change. Included in this service is a free bumper to bumper inspection, we will go over that in a bit, I scheduled a drop off at 8am thinking that at most it wouldn't be more than 4 hours to get my oil change completed. I was very wrong. I was notified at 6pm (I had to call them looking for my car) that my car wouldn't be available for pickup until the morning. Not sure why a standard oil change took 10 hours but it was ridiculous. Then to make this appointment better they of course during their bumper to bumper inspection they find out that my battery is dying and needs to be replaced and they quoted me $599. I told them no I needed to do research on a replacement and install and I'm sure glad I did! I called the dealership and they quoted me $405, nearly $200 cheaper. The service rep was insistent that I couldn't find my battery anywhere for my Lux car and had to have a high quality battery that only they would be able to provide. I definitely feel like I was trying to be taken advantage of and will never be going here again! read more

Flexible- understanding- straightforward- friendly - knowledge - accommodating. I am above pleased with the service I received. I initially dealt with Glenn then Joe, and a mix of everyone else who was consistently friendly. From the initial intake, to the ease of follow-ups as everyone was aware of each other's pending orders, and closing of the job, the communication, transparency and willingness to assist made this an exceptional experience. I left my car in the possession of Adams Automotive for two weeks because I was going out of town. Ordinarily, this would have been to the benefit to the shop to leisurely complete the work on my car but not only were they prompt with their inspection, they also gave me an timely updates on the work I requested. Their lot is large, clean and very secure so this decision and option thrilled me. During the inspection, a leak was discovered that was covered by warranty. Finding the leak wasn't a big deal (pretty obvious) but their explanation of my options, flexibility and management of the logistics to get it transported and repaired at the dealership DOWNTOWN on my behalf in my absence made my life easy and really wowed me. Had this not been something they assisted me with, I would have had to be without my car for an additional two days if I would've had to do it myself once I returned. I went in for some pretty basic flushes to my system, as well as the state inspection, however, even with these somewhat small jobs, they were always very informative and happy to take my calls and answer my questions. I would definitely go for larger more complex jobs as their prices were competitive but the energy and smiles is what does it for me! read more

After scrambling to stop at a gas station we saw Adam's Automotive Service. They had just closed, but we're kind enough to take a look. The crew was friendly, helpful and reassuring.
