July AZ got back to me quickly with an actual quote (a fair price, based on the photo I sent) - plus they were available the next day. They made the whole process so easy, and I'd definitely recommend the company. And it was certainly better than trying to do it myself.

From the time I sent the message to the time he was in my backyard giving me an estimate was less than 15 minutes. That level of promptness is rare and set the tone right away. The price quoted was fair and reasonable, with no pressure or upselling. He mentioned the work could be done after his crew took a lunch break, and sure enough, about an hour later his team showed up exactly as promised. The crew was professional, courteous, and clearly knew what they were doing. They worked efficiently, took care of the tree, and had everything cleaned up in about 15 minutes. The end result looked great--exactly what I was hoping for. Overall, this was one of the smoothest and most straightforward service experiences I've had. Fast response, fair pricing, and quality work. I would absolutely use July AZ Landscaping again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

But this year when Jack came out to trim my palms, he informed me that my very tall pine tree had died due to beetle infestation. I am on a fixed income since I retired and he quoted me such a good price for a very tall tree. Originally I was going to have him cut it down mid May, but because the weather was getting hotter, I decided to have him cut it down earlier. He came out yesterday and did a good job taking it down with minimal disruption to my neighbors. I am so happy it is gone because all the needles were clogging my pool vac and filter. I couldn't even tell the tree was there before because they spread my rocks over what used to be the base of the tree. They ground out the base and it was as flat as the surrounding area. I highly recommend Greenwood Tree Service to anyone who wants a fair price with exceptional quality service. I will be using them yearly for all my tree needs.

I hired this company for the following: "Remove willow acacia tree in back yard. Trim all remaining willow acacias in back yard. Remove all volunteers. Stump grind front stump", as noted on the invoice they emailed me. On 12/28 Steve said parts were on order for stump grinder and would be in stock in 5 days. They did a partial tree removal on 12/29/17. Steve did not come as he said he had the flu. When his 2-man crew arrived, they told me Steve didn't have the flu and that he was working on his truck that day. Three weeks later and they never came back to remove the 2 ft tree stump they left in my back yard, nor stump grind the one in my front yard. I called him 3 times. The last two times he chose the times for the appointments to finally complete the work. He stood me up both times. Steve knows that I have cancer and took advantage of that. After paying him over $700 by check, I feel I was rooked. Steve is unprofessional and incompetent. He has been banned from Home Advisors because he never responded to my complaint. I would advise people to steer clear of CDC Tree Service because Steve only takes cash, knowing full well a customer has no recourse if there are any problems with service.

He got here at 10:45 and in 5 min gave me an excellent quote and said 2 guys would do the job in 2.5 hrs. We set a date 4 days later at 8 am. The two guys arrived at 7:50 am. We went to the tree and discussed what I wanted done. I offered to help but they said they had it handled and they would come get me when done. They came to my front door when done and took me around back to check it out and make sure I was pleased. They were polite and professional. They had all the proper tools needed to do the job. They hauled away all the trimmings. They not only raked the gravel but blew off that entire side of the yard. They also managed the entire job without damaging any of the 5 large prickly pear cactus, 2 birds of paradise, and 1 mini palm tree that are all within 1-5 feet from this tree. STAY AWAY…read more Absolutely unacceptable work. What was supposed to be simple trimming turned into severe over-pruning that completely ruined my plants. Multiple mature, full, flowering shrubs were cut down into stiff, unnatural box-like shapes with most of the blooms removed. The entire look of my yard was drastically changed in a single visit. This is not professional landscaping - it's careless and shows a lack of basic pruning knowledge. When I contacted the owner about it, my concerns were dismissed and he hung up on me. Save yourself the frustration and go with a more competent company. Photos speak for themselves. ***Update***: The owner's response speaks for itself. Rather than addressing the legitimate concerns about the quality of work, he chose to attack me personally and publicly, calling me disgustingly rude and telling other businesses never to work with me. This condescending and unprofessional response only confirms why we will never use this company again.
