Other than that, this is the best practice my husband and I have ever been to, hands down. From the office staff to the dental hygienists to the dentist himself, they are all fantastic. The receptionist, Susan is friendly and warm and makes you feel like family every time you walk in. We don't feel awkward coming here and she really makes this a painless experience. Nobody likes coming to the dentist but this isn't so bad. I've also found that they don't charge as much as other practices. Our other dentist in Deer Park wanted almost 7,000$ for 7 teeth removed, a full set of dentures and the other costs included while Baytown Family only asked for 4,000$. They were also way friendlier and kept in touch with us more. I highly recommend them for all of your dentistry needs. Best dentist in Baytown.

She has an amazing bedside manor that makes you feel like your were with an experience professional that cared about not only just doing my cleaning but making sure I was comfortable through out the whole process. I struggled with the Dr. that I saw that first visit because she seemed cold and uncaring and I never had to see her again. Which was a plus. On my second visit I was able to see Tarina, RDH again who remembered me and made my entire experience feel again like I was in good hands and didn't need to worry. Dr. Shanker took over my case and I couldn't have been more lucky! He's also very invested in making sure I'm involved in my care plan. He answers every question, takes his time and makes me feel like my feelings matter. When I am with other specialists or hygienist he always goes out of his way to check on me and say hello. His attention to detail and bedside manor has drastically decreased the level of anxiety I experience going into a dental appointment. Dr. Rossi a visiting specialist was an absolute rockstar in his specialty. My visit with him was quick but he sat down before my procedure and talked me through it. I asked him if I could wear my headphones because I was nervous and he without hesitation said yes we'll use hand signals if you need anything. All around amazing experience. Jessica the office manager goes out of her way to help me coordinate visits and assist with the documentation I need for my insurance & FSA. Then they demanded payment in advance for her treatment plan based (supposedly) on one of the two insurances. I made an initial payment. They failed to properly file insurance and claimed that it just did not pay. I called the insurance company (Met Life) and they requested additional information but the office ghosted them. We went to try to complete the dental plan and brought to their attention I never received a print out of the account. They said that they gave it to my minor daughter and now that she is 18 (was not at the time) they don't have to give me anything. Needless to say we will find another, better dentist. My best advice, save your money and go to a professional dentist who actually cares about clients.

But Dr Hurd was recommended to me and I've had an ongoing issue with an ever-worsening FRONT tooth loosening after a facial injury many years ago. Dr Hurd was the first dentist I've seen who took this issue in hand, dealt with it immediately, and gave me a very positive outlook and prognosis. Not guaranteed but positive. I was expecting to lose this tooth either through eating or because it had to be removed. From the first interaction with this practice I was impressed. Insurance issues - resolved. Front desk - great. Nurses - Julie and Sneed (sp?) lovely, and Dr Hurd himself? So gentle, so caring, so kind, such a nice man. I've been to 'gentle dental' clinics and they don't know what they are talking about. Dr Hurd is an angel and he is the first dentist to whom I ever said "I could hug you" after my visit. I cannot recommend this practice enough. Oh , and by the way, if you need it? They supply 'stress balls' at the front desk! :)

They always overbook. Back for her appointment this week and we have been in the waiting room for almost two hours past her appointment time. It's hot in here, it's crowded, and nobody is saying anything to the mom of the child running around hitting things. If we hadn't already paid in full for her braces we would never come back. Only positive I can come up with is that the dentist and the dental assistants are all nice. This place is just not run very well.

While the dental professionals may be ok, (although that's debatable because they put braces on my daughter's teeth before her mouth was fully expanded) their office staff is HORRIBLE. I scheduled my daughter on a Saturday, only to be told when we got there, she couldn't be seen except on Fridays. I did not reschedule another appointment right away. The office never called to get her back in for treatment. By the time I called to schedule her an appointment, there was nothing available and I asked to go to another Lovett office. No one indicated this wasn't a possibility without being treated as a new patient. I only learned this when the office called to confirm the appointment and told me to be in by a certain time to fill out paperwork. I finally was put in contact with the orthodontic office manager, and she scheduled an appointment. When we showed up, she commented "I don't know who told you to be here at 9:00." When I told her she was the one who told me what time to arrive, she began arguing with me until my daughter became embarrassed and visibly upset. We later scheduled another appointment to try to get cavities filled only to have that appointment canceled by the office. I sent certified letters to both the office manager and the orthodontic office manager as well as their corporate office. I know they were received because I have the receipts. No one ever responded. Finally, my husband went to the Baytown location to attempt to get our daughter's dental records, so we could go to another dentist. Upon speaking with a representative there, we were able to achieve this; however, we have still not received a refund for the service is not rendered. They deserve zero stars, but that wasn't an option.
