I wish that I could give this place 10 stars! From my very first interaction with Tarina, RDH doing my x-rays on my first visit I knew that I would be in good hands. She has an amazing bedside manor that makes you feel like your were with an experience professional that cared about not only just doing my cleaning but making sure I was comfortable through out the whole process. I struggled with the Dr. that I saw that first visit because she seemed cold and uncaring and I never had to see her again. Which was a plus. On my second visit I was able to see Tarina, RDH again who remembered me and made my entire experience feel again like I was in good hands and didn't need to worry. Dr. Shanker took over my case and I couldn't have been more lucky! He's also very invested in making sure I'm involved in my care plan. He answers every question, takes his time and makes me feel like my feelings matter. When I am with other specialists or hygienist he always goes out of his way to check on me and say hello. His attention to detail and bedside manor has drastically decreased the level of anxiety I experience going into a dental appointment. Dr. Rossi a visiting specialist was an absolute rockstar in his specialty. My visit with him was quick but he sat down before my procedure and talked me through it. I asked him if I could wear my headphones because I was nervous and he without hesitation said yes we'll use hand signals if you need anything. All around amazing experience. Jessica the office manager goes out of her way to help me coordinate visits and assist with the documentation I need for my insurance & FSA. She also helps me create quotes so that I can financially plan future services. Long story short there is no one else I would trust with my dental care! This entire team CARES! read more

I had a fantastic experience at Baytown Modern Dentistry! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I want to give a special shoutout to dental assistants Nancy and Jacquelyn for their excellent work during my deep cleaning. They made the process comfortable and thorough. Because i didn't agree to all the extra services it was my first time there they kept changing my appointments one time they canceled my appointment because I was 3 minutes late I was told that the dentist needed the whole 2 hours for my service so finally after almost 3 months my appointment was at 12:00 then they pushed it to 1:00 I was there at 12:40 to make sure this was done after seating in the room for 30 minutes so remember the dentist needed the whole 2 hours and the way staff was speaking to staff it was racist and tasteless and the way I was spoke to didn't make me feel comfortable so I told kyle to refund my 200 he said it was dropped in the safe but don't worry you will get a refund link today and you will have your money in 2-3 days didn't happen so I called him this morning and asked for the corporate phone number he said he was told to tell me they don't have one then he offered to overnight my check after I agreed and 10 minutes later he said due to the holiday I want receive until wednesday today is friday last time I checked overnight should be saturday not wednesday after I get my money back they don't have to worry about me as a client but I will find the corporate phone number so I can see if they treat everybody like a brother over 2 weeks still no refund. read more

I am having a dental emergency so I go online to my insurance company to do a search for dental offices that are in network. I am referred to Baytown Modern Dentistry. I used their online service to request an appointment for the next day (Nov. 20th, 2025). I had a voicemail later that day from them saying they do have availability for that day. When I call them I am told yes there is availability, but suddenly when she finds out that my insurance is HMO their doctor for my insurance is not available until Dec. 1st. She knew it was an emergency from the start. So why all the sudden is no doctor available? read more

Thank you so much Modern Dentistry! Your office staff & Doctors Rock!!! I went there for an emergency visit during the snow storm due to a really bad inflection. I can't thank the staff enough for not turning me away during such a challenging time with your system being down and having internet issues due to the weather conditions. I was able to get an exam and consultation with the Doctor to discuss a treatment plan for needed dental surgery. Today I had my surgery and everything went smoothly. Last thing, I also appreciate the staff for making me feel at ease about all of my bone grafting concerns. Well after dealing with these people for several years trying to get billing straighten out, I still can't get them to respond or show proof of their incorrect billing. I found my EOB from Delta Dental so I reached out to their Corporate office and no response as of now. Very sad and bad customer service all for a $100. If you use them get receipts from them and keep all your records because this was years ago for me and I'm still dealing with it. Sad. read more

I hadn't been to the dentist in many years. I was half expecting to get scolded but everyone there was super friendly and was at ease the whole time. I was able to get an appointment very quickly and they were excellent in communicating and making sure I was comfortable throughout all my procedures. Great friendly staff but man they want to do WAY more than needed. Over $6k for 1 root canal and a crown for 1 tooth that they claim is now THREE teeth and they say I need a bridge. I don't have a lot of options with the plan I have - all big box dental conglomerates but I'll definitely get another opinion. They are friendly though - as they hand over that $6,000 estimate! read more

Beware of them over selling. Get a second opinion . I'm no expert, but I feel like they wanted to do a lot more expensive work than necessary. They wanted to remove 4 teeth that don't even bother me. And had them listed as surgical extractions (more expensive) rather than simple extractions. read more

On top of the excellent service they provide, they have different events that patients can participate in which will benefit the community and give patients savings in their dental treatment. I visited Baytown Modern Dentistry on 10-17-17. Let me start by saying that my 1 star rating is not for their customer service, it is for their insurance/cost obligation practices. Their customer service was great, everyone was very nice and accommodating. I went in for a routine check up and cleaning. It took a little over an hour and a half to accomplish this. I arrived 10 min. early to my appointment and all of my paperwork and insurance had been previously submitted online. My check up began with them taking xrays and then probing my gums. While probing I was informed that I needed my wisdom teeth removed. I am 34 years old and have had my wisdom teeth for over 10 years with no major issues/concerns from them. I was never asked if they bothered me or if there were any issues with them, was simply told I needed them removed and a write up was included in my file to have this procedure done at some point. After the probing I was visited by someone to go over my bill, this is before my cleaning was even done. I found this odd. I was informed that my cleaning was going to cost a certain amount, which was significantly higher than I was expecting especially since my insurance covers 2 cleanings per year. But in my naivety I thought well my insurance did just change so maybe I missed something, and at this point I have already been here for an hour and haven't even had my cleaning and I've already specifically taken off work for this so I need to get it done. Everyone that assisted me kept referring to it as a cleaning, so how was I to know that the items listed on this bill I was being shown (that was not explained to me per item) were we're not actually part of a routine cleaning? That the only reason I was even being charged at all was because of these items that were outside of a routine cleaning, which at no point did I ever ask for. Call me naive, but I assume that most professionals are going to do what is in the best interest of their client. So when I'm told my cleaning is going to cost a certain amount, I suck it up and deal with it cause I need it done. What I don't appreciate is being informed by my insurance company that the reason I just paid so much is NOT because my insurance has changed but is because my dentist just provided procedures that are not part of the cleaning that I asked for and did not bother to explain this to me. I really wanted to like this place, but I will never go back. I hope Baytown Modern Dentistry enjoys my money, because they'll never see another penny from me or my insurance again. read more

Everyone's least favorite thing to do is go to the dentist, but Dr. Fann and her team literally helped me have the best experience. I have seen them twice now, and it wasn't a one off the first time, both visits were absolutely GREAT! The ladies in the front were very friendly from the first phone call, it's just like talking to old friends when I go in, very welcoming. Dr. Fann went over my treatment plan with me, and explained everything, I felt very comfortable talking to her. My insurance company is confusing and Jesica, the office manager made sure that I understood what was covered and not covered. I see the other reviews on here and find it odd that anyone could have a bad experience here. I know not everyone will have a perfect experience everywhere or even every time but I feel like with my experience both times so far that if you have a question about anything that is being done you could ask them and they would explain it over and over as many times as I needed it because believe me, I asked a million questions and some multiple times to make sure I understood. They even helped me plan my treatment out over this year benefits and next years benefits so I would have a lower out of pocket!!! What business does that! I have never been to a dental office that helped me spread my treatment out so that I could have a lower out of pocket total, the others have always pushed me to do everything right now. Not here, they did tell me about everything I needed but helped me understand that I could start in one area and they would help me work my way around over time so that I could maximize my insurance benefits between the two years. My dental appointment at BMD was easy to schedule and there was hardly any wait time. The staff was very friendly and made me feel very comfortable. The Dr and his assistants made me feel like I was priority. My dental procedure was pleasant and I will be making BMD my primary dental care providers. read more
