Total waste of money and what a horrible experience dealing with Heat Transfer Products (HTP). My Phoenix Solar 80 Gal was leaking because these idiots used ABS plastic for the fitting instead of PVC. It was still under warranty but they said the warranty starts from the DATE OF MANUFACTURE instead of DATE OF INSTALLATION. What a joke, what if car warranties worked that way, we'd all lose a whole year right off the lot. It turns out there's a PVC fix kit they SELL for this problem they created that cost me $250 plus $250 to have it installed. This company is THE WORST. Please listen to me I've tried calling them, my plumber has tried reasoning with them and they take no responsibility for anything and continue to brag about this 7 year warranty which is a total lie.

It lasted only 14 months till I had to replace it! They replaced it for me but are not helping me with the installation after I was told they would! If I knew I would have not even taken there replacement! My family was left with no hot water for 10 days and even had to pay for the Shipping fee! Stay away from this overpriced, unprofessional non supporting company!

I first encountered New Day Energy when looking for a Massachusetts based installer of the really…read moreinteresting MESys biomass wood pellet boilers. Our ancient inefficient boiler needed replacement and I was hoping pellets would be the solution for our new home in Boston. Sadly that turned out not to be the case - the economics simply don't work out if you have a natural gas feed from the street. So I instead started working with New Day Energy on a solar install. The people were fantastic to deal with and helped me plan and get a 2Kw system up and running. One of the things I really liked about them was their use and evangelism of enphase micro-inverters installed on every panel. The Enphase stuff is fantastic and it's a far better way to run residential solar than the traditional DC string connecting all panels to a big external inverter. I also like the fact that I would own the system outright. I'm mildly suspicious of the solar outfits that lease your system back to you or otherwise do strange financial tricks. The most shady thing about those companies is how they seem to dry up and vanish whenever the rebate money disappears in a geographical area. Makes me suspicious about their business and long-term viability if they can only function in states that are handing out rebate money. Mark and the crew designed my system, dropped it off, helped me deal with a local electrician who can do the permitted (and heavily inspected by the city) linkages and connections. And finally they made sure that our rebate application was successfully processed (got the check 2 weeks ago ..) and they helped onboard us into the MA exchange where production credit certificates can be sold for real money in a marketplace.

We contracted with him in February after checking references (all glowing!), and our ground mounted, 10KW system was permitted, installed, and generating as of April 20. Some background and opinions...like one of the other reviewers, we were skeptical of leasing and any impact that might have on the ability to sell our home/transfer contracts. We also didn't like the idea of someone else owning something attached to our house. That, and aesthetics (we didn't want to cover our new roof on a traditional colonial with panels), drove us to look for a ground mounted option, for which experienced providers were few and far between. Not only has New Day Energy done a number of ground and atypical installations, they do business and residential. Their experience and versatility, and Mark's ability to answer ANY question - no matter how silly, gave us confidence in moving forward with a hefty investment. Finally, as all of his references echoed, New Day handles EVERYTHING. I get a heads up when papers are coming to sign and return, and they handle it all (rebates, REC contract stuff, etc.) All we have to do is file for the credit on 2017 taxes :-)

E2 Solar made the process simple and their professional crew was outstanding. Something to think about if you live on Cape and want solar is our limited amount of sun. Even though Sun Power panels are a premium product and priced accordingly, they are the best at capturing diffuse light(when it's cloudy) and that was very important to us. Highly recommend E2 Solar!

Their sales person was thorough, knowledgable and we never felt we were being pressured or rushed. They were willing (and not every provider is) to have their engineer come and go up on our roof (in addition to the satellite estimate for production) to inspect our shingles, etc. - they were 22 years old and needed to be replaced (which was not unexpected), but he also identified some other things to address. Other vendors wanted us to sign the contract before they'd do that! E2's in-office administrator has been relentlessly helpful, friendly, knowledgable and has made getting through the applications and approvals (from the State, power company, etc) a non-issue. She has taken a lot of time to explain things and help us navigate what can be very confusing details as you get going. E2's installation crew was, if anything, over-qualified. There were three certified master electricians on site (as required by law for the size of the job). Apparently, not every company fully complies with this requirement. Their installers made a point of working around our concerns for ground-level gardens and the house and the whole thing happened in a few days with virtually no disruption to us. I can't think of one area where E2 didn't excel. I can't speak to longer term service or quality, but we went with them because we believe that SunPower offers a better quality product and E2 is local and have been around. Plus, three of our friends/neighbors are working with them as well - so...safety in numbers? An unqualified rave so far. !!!!

    Safe Sweep Chimney

Recently my chimney was damaged from a storm on December 19th extremely high winds and heavy rain,…read morethe wind was so strong it lifted the metal insert in my chimney and removed it w/ the bricks still attached. I immediately took to the internet to find a high-quality specialist w/ a 5* rating and reviews to back it as I had installed a high-quality metal roof installed 8 years ago by interlocking roofing at the time the cost was $ 35,000.00 now that same roof today would cost approx. close to $ 100,000.00 so I needed a professional with knowledge with working w/ a metal roof that looks like slate. and wanted to do the proper assessment of damage cost etc. prior to placing a claim w/ my insurance company. As that would give me a good idea of cost repairs what would be involved as it would be a lot different than dealing w/ your normal asphalt roof where they could just go up on the roof where in this case you cannot. You would either need a lift or specialized staging set up as that come at a higher cost. in order to not compromise the integrity of the metal roof and to avoid liability, so I needed to do my do diligences in getting the right company to assess and do the job once the claim was put in. Because it was the weekend, I filled out the information online and in less than a 1/2 hour, I had a response from Brian from Safe Sweep Chimney. Extremely professional and set up an appointment on the 30th of December to come out and assess the damage. Now I had a professional I then went online and filed my claim w/ Amica who I have had for many years and are the Best of the Best when it comes to insurance companies, after filing I was notified that I was assigned a claim representee, and a claim person would be coming out on the 31st of December, so now I have done what needed to be done. Now as stated Brian showed up like he said he would at the time he had stated and was here for well over an hour did a complete assessment, cleaned the chimney and the fee was very reasonable of $ 300 as stated during our first conversation. and wrote up a report in his findings. During his time at my home Brians communication was in terms that I could understand and the process that would need to take place, and yes, a specialize staging company would need to come out and set staging w/ stairs in order to not compromise and damage to my roof but also for the safety of his employees. and the roof would have to be tarped to avoid any scratching etc. Brian also asked me if I had ever had the chimney ever cleaned, I told him no, that I had been told back when I purchased my home back in 1978 that because I didn't have a fireplace it was necessary, that may have been the case back then only to find out not to be true, to my surprise. the cleaning the chimney is one of the things Brian insist should always be done regardless this way it ensures the integrity of the bricks and shows if there are any cracks etc. that can be repaired that can avoid any future expensive cost down the road and avoid any carbon monoxide from seeping into your home. This to me is what sets Brian apart from other his willingness to take the time to educate someone like me of the dangers that could arise, as Brian put it, though it is a costly repair that it's his job to make a homeowner aways of any hazards that could arise in the future, regardless of whether I went with him or not, That was all I needed to hear, I was relieved in knowing that hiring Brian would be another one of those best asset's I would be investing in knowing the job for one would be professional, two I would never have to worry about it again at least not as long as I remain in my home. one of the best choices I could have made by doing my homework and not just hiring anyone, and the second-best thing I ever did was having one of the best insurance companies to protect me with my Home, and Auto and Liability Insurance, Amica I could be happier w/ my decisions and I urge anyone looking for reputable insurance company, reputable Chimney expert call Brian, at Safe Sweep Chimneys as well as Amica, oh one last thing to Brian's credit, who in today's world does this. Brian made it a point to call me the next day to see how I was doing, knowing how frazzled I was and to insure me everything would be alright. but was more concerned about me as a person. Sure, made me feel a lot better. I can only say Thank you Brian, so much appreciated the time and care you took to spend w/ me the day of my crisis. Joseph St. Jean
