I didn't even have to put my bra on and the job was done before I finished my 2nd cup of coffee! This started out as a normal…read moreenough interaction when temperatures got very cold and a chip in my windshield became a large crack. I submitted a claim to my insurance company and was given this shop as a local option to do a mobile replacement. He was supposed to contact me within two hours according to the insurance company, and it took six days. I was not initially concerned because I know he is a small, local business. When he finally reached out, he set up the appointment for a few days later. When he came to replace the windshield in the parking lot at my work, he noticed that some of the sensors were not correct, and let me know that he had received the wrong windshield for my model of vehicle and would order the correct one and contact me again. Several days later, he called back and set up a second appointment. At the end of that appointment, after replacing the windshield, he called me at work to let me know that, again, he had received the wrong windshield but did not notice until he was ready to reinstall the cameras behind the rearview mirror that are necessary for cruise control and other safety features. He said he would work to find the correct windshield again and contact me when he located it. I have now been driving around for 10 days with warnings flashing in my dashboard every minute that I drive. I reached out again three days ago (Monday), and he told me he was picking up my correct windshield the next day and would contact me to set up the installation. I did not hear from him again, so I called again yesterday (Wednesday), and left a message inquiring about the status of my new windshield and when he might be able to install it. There has been no response and it has now been over 24 hours since I left that message. Today when I called again, it went straight to his voicemail several times. Now it is going to an automated message saying he does not have voicemail, which makes me think he has now blocked me. I see several other reviews here saying he has not responded after doing faulty work. I would AVOID THIS BUSINESS LIKE THE PLAGUE. I have reported this to my insurance company, and will be encouraging them to remove him from their list of authorized repair services. Ironically, when the first windshield was wrong, he made multiple statements about not wanting to get a bad name around town...dear Rick, this is NOT the way to ensure that. Good luck, dude.

I live in Quartz Valley (Fort Jones) and didn't have anyone who could drive me back and forth, so Pam scheduled an appointment where I could bring the car in first thing and wait for it. I really screwed the pooch cuz I gave them the wrong year so the new windshield didn't fit (which we didn't figure out until after the old windshield had already been removed)! Ken went out of his way to help make it right despite my screwup. They got the correct windshield from the warehouse and because the delay meant the car wouldn't be ready until the following morning, they gave me a ride all the way back to Quartz Valley AND picked me up the next morning in time so I wouldn't miss my medical appointment in Mt. Shasta. Ken even gave me some fresh organic vegetables from his raised bed garden right there on the lot! I had a terrific salad that night, too!. Everyone I dealt with at Ken's (including Ken) was super friendly, helpful and professional. They went the extra mile to fix my car and my mistake! Big thumbs up! Beware this business. I contacted Scott's in Sept 2021 about checking all my doors for leaks and…read moreproper fit. The owner said he would be happy to do it. After a month there was no word from Scott's. I stopped by and then was told he could come out for an estimate in a week. I was never told he would charge me for this. Otherwise I would have declined the job. It is now a week before Christmas and he comes out at 2 PM or so. No time for any serious work to be completed. Now company shuts down for Christmas. Maybe 2 weeks later he says they can come back. Again around 2 PM so another day goes by without much being done. Now I find leaks and ill fitting doors after they finished some work. They now come back a third time, again late in the day, to finish up and redo the work they did poorly before. This job took almost 4 months to complete and it should have been done in a single day by a competent outfit. I felt grossly overcharged on their labor charges. I had to call them back one more time because I could barely open my front door. Again, beware of this company. Find someone else to do this type of work. I was treated very unfairly by them. A simple job took forever and the work was shoddy because they never double check the work they did.

I'd also driven from Jubilee Railroad Campground in Dunsmuir, an hour or so away from Mike's, and wanted to deal with damage to my rv when I hit the electrical unit there when I backed into the space I'd been given. Mike impressed me by the way he dealt with me. Before my recent experience with Mike, I thought I was a good judge of people. Now I realize he fooled me. A door of one of the storage compartments of the rv needed to be replaced. "The insurance will probably take a long time to get to your claim," he told me. "If you write a check to me now, I can order one now and get to work on it sooner." I wrote the check. I waited with my rv for 10 days for Mike to get the door and start working on my rv, then I gave up. I told Mike to return the door when it arrived and then return my money. The door never arrived. When I contacted Mike, he said he couldn't order it because the company needed more information which he couldn't provide since my rv was no longer located where he was. I told Mike to send me $1200 from my payment to him and keep the rest for the time he'd spent on the job. "That's fair," he said. It's been over 2 months since that conversation. I haven't been able to contact Mike by phone or email since then. I sent the note below to him telling him that I would post this review if I hadn't received my money by October 7. It is now October 14. I've had no response from Mike. He still owes me $1200.

We had our ancient RV towed to Mike's because no one else would even agree to look at it. The…read moreradiator was shot and various parts were missing after a mechanic in Yreka took it apart and then closed his shop without reassembling it. Mike got it running again, even though he first had to machine some parts that were no longer available. I think he saw it as a challenge. We ended up selling the RV to him in the end, and everyone was satisfied. Mike is an honest and kind man who did his best for us. This was back in 2019, but I recently remembered him and want to thank him and wish him well.
