Is this even a legitimate business? Background context: My father is currently in the hospital due to a knee surgery, so I've had to run his errands for him. His glasses are (allegedly) ready for pickup at Acuity Eye Group, and have been for a week. I called in last week on Monday and spoke to the front office staff, who said that I would not be able to pick them up because they are closed. It was 3:00pm. Their business hours are until 4:00pm on Mondays, though. The staff said I could pick them up tomorrow, so I drove from La Habra to Anaheim Hills (30 minutes) to pick them up, but their office was closed. I've called at least 20 times since then, left dozens of voicemails, but no one returns phone calls. Their answering machine states that someone is "on the other line assisting another customer," but that's obviously not true, since it appears no one is ever physically in this office. It's obvious this business does not care about its customers whatsoever. Avoid at all costs. read more

I was told by my PCP that I needed to see an Ophthalmologist and was referred here. I called and scheduled an appointment and specifically requested to see the ophthalmologist as I had already previously seen optometrists and both the optometrists at America's Best and my PCP told me to see only the ophthalmologist. I arrived and checked in for my appointment at 3:30. As I waited for my appointment, another patient asked when she was going to be taken back as her appointment was at 3 and it was now 4. The receptionist told her she would be taken back in a little bit. I looked up Dr. Pandya and saw that she was an optometrist so I asked the receptionist if my appointment had been set with the optometrist or the ophthalmologist. She told me it was with the optometrist and that the ophthalmologist was only in on Monday's. I told her my appointment and referral was specifically for the ophthalmologist and why was I scheduled to see the optometrist. She told me that the optometrist studies the same criteria as the ophthalmologist and they are basically the same. As someone who works in the medical field, that is an incorrect statement and an insult to the training and schooling an ophthalmologist goes through vs an optometrist. The receptionist who had blue and black hair was incredibly unhelpful and did not seem to care that they had completely wasted our time and had not scheduled the appointment even correctly for what I needed to be seen for. I waited 2 weeks and took time off work to see an ophthalmologist, not optometrist. She told me she could schedule me for a Monday with the ophthalmologist but I told her to forget it. At this point my reason for seeing the ophthalmologist had primarily resolved and I had no desire to waste any more of my time. Whoever does the scheduling needs to be aware that if someone is specifically requesting to see an ophthalmologist that they need to schedule them correctly because optometrists are not the same as ophthalmologists!!!! read more

Dr Collata is a great doctor and a good human being. He saved my eye. The rectina had detached and I needed surgery to repair it. After 1 surgery and 10 laser operations with the good doctor. My eye is restored. read more

This is the worst place I've ever been to. Do not come to this group. I have waited over a month to get my eye glasses. Now they are in the office and the WONT HAND THEM TO ME. I have to wait another week until some magical eye glass hander outer can "dispense" them. This is insane. I'm standing AT the optical center where they can open the drawer- for glasses I have paid for and were supposed to be ready by 2/14- but have to come back again. Here we are almost in March and I don't have glasses. Stick with Costco ya'll or ANYWHERE else for that matter. This is such poor business operations. read more

Customer service is awful. My son's glasses broke. (Second time in one year. Supposed to be kids' glasses but not sturdy quality.) I purchased the warranty so they can repair. This office is basically closed 2 days per week. I come in after their 2-day hiatus. The optician is on vacation. "She might be back on Monday," is what front desk said. No "let me call another location." No, "I can hold glasses for optician and have her call you." Basically a not my problem attitude. I have private insurance. I think I'll choose another optometrist. read more

Waited 45 mins to see the Dr for my yearly eye appointment. Saw him for less for less than 2 mins. Mixed me up with another patient. Then looked at my eye exam on the computer and said "Nothing has changed it will never change. Everything is good see you in a year ". Didn't introduce himself. He could have been another medical assistant. He dressed the same and I saw several of them running around. Was sent to a couple of them and then back out to waiting room. I've been a patient here for over 5 years and today was finally the last time my husband and I will be seen here. Very upsetting. read more

I love Acuity Eye Group they make sure you have a eye exam every year the way it's supposed to be. A lot us forget to make an appointment they make sure you schedule an appointment before you and then they remind you when appointment is getting close. Front Desk is great! The problem is the Doctor (Anthony C)- 1. Never seen Dr wear gloves while touching your eyes, in my few times there. 2. Never spends more than a few minutes with you and will not even let you ask questions. Management should really consider doing a internal compliance audit. You can't just leave the previous patient without using gloves and examine the next without using gloves or washing your hands thoroughly. And for the record Covid is not the biggest concern, there are many more things to worry about when it comes to bacterial or viral ( life long) infections which can VERY easily be transmitted touching a patience eyes due to DR negligence. This is a disaster waiting to happen for the owners or investors of this office. read more

Dr. Culotta saved my eye. I thought I was seeing things but it was black spots on my eye and getting worse. I got a couple of referrals and got bounced around until I landed on Acuity Eye Groups doorstep. Dr Culotta looked at my eye and said you have tears in your retina. We need to fix that right now. He wouldn't let me leave his office until he could fix the tears. After the better part of the day waiting in the office for an authoritarian, the office was closing and Dr. Culotta got on the phone, laid into the insurance company and got an emergency authorization. And this was on a Friday. I cracked up and thought this is my kinda Doctor. He didn't want to take a chance and let me go through the weekend knowing there was a good chance that by Monday it would be too late. Had Dr. Culotta not stepped up that day for me I would've lost my vision in that eye. That was 2019 and I haven't had a single problem with my eyes since. I recently moved and switched my PCP and was unable to see Dr. Culotta for my annual exam so I switched back and drive 2 hours just to see Dr. Superman. Thanks Dr. Culotta!! My doctor sent me here for what I thought was just a routine eye exam. So you know, there a bunch of Acuity Eye Groups and there is one call center that makes all the appointments. I had called the center & scheduled an appointment with them at this location. I got there and had "routine" services done that I have never had done before in my life. To check for glaucoma (which I should not have been checked for & wasn't even a concern I had), I had to have my eyes NUMBED. The assistant probed my eyes with some needle-like tool and I did NOT have a good reaction to that. I immediately felt nauseous and light-headed. I then blacked out. When I came back around, I was still sitting in the chair, covered with sweat and the assistant was sitting at his computer. I apologized for blacking out & he was like "Ok, are you ready to have your eyes dilated?" WHAT!? So he asked me if I had a ride home, which I did not because I NEVER knew I was having this procedure done!! That is something that they should have told me over the phone when I made the appointment. They dilated my eyes after that and then went to take photos and have the doctor check my eyes. I was then taken into another room so the doctor could check my eyes again. She was talking to me the whole time about what I can do to help with my dry eyes because that's what I originally went in there for. I couldn't even comprehend what she was saying because I felt so sick to my stomach and light-headed. All she did was give me samples of eye drops. I feel so taken advantage of. I'm sure they did those services because they make money from doing those extra, unnecessary procedures but I am seriously traumatized. I can barely even put a contact in my eye now because I am so afraid of something being in/on/around my eyes. And just the lack of care I felt was horrible. read more

Arrived on time for my appointment weeks ago, just a check up and I needed glasses. I then had to wait 30 minutes to be seen despite the fact that I had an appointment and arrived on time. Dr was sweet but only looked at me for maybe 8 minutes. Not sure what sort of process they have for getting their patients seen but it clearly needs some redrafting. Ordered my glasses and was told to wait until the promise date and that theyll call me when they're ready if before that date. Never received a call so I called multiple times on the promise date and got sent to voicemail every time. Called again the next day they were open (only open Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays btw since they haven't updated their hours), and of course straight to voicemail 4 times over the course of an hour. I come out to the office because clearly they can't handle communicating over the phone. There's only 6 patients inside when I arrive which makes me wonder what was keeping them from answering my 4 phone calls. Fast forward, girl goes and "checks" for my glasses and says they're not there. I explain to her my situation and she dismisses me telling me that the optical lady isn't there on Fridays; this is weird because just 2 weeks ago at my appointment the optical lady told me I could come Monday, Tuesday, or Friday to grab my glasses. I told her that would've been great to know when I was being told to pick them up on a Friday and she tells me to keep calling. I told her she's missing the point that I'm not trying to play a game of chase with my eye doctor and asked what we need to do because she had still yet to offer a real solution with the current issues in consideration. She tells me she'll make note to call me on Monday and when I didn't immediately get up and leave she tells me "yea so you're good to leave now." So, if communication is important to you (it should be) and you care how you're spoken to (you should) I would highly recommend looking elsewhere. read more

I like Acuity in Anaheim Hills, Dr.Nancy Tsui is very nice and super compassionate, I went there today as wall in, with urgent need for eye evaluation, the front desk staff were very prompt and concerned, they help me to see Dr. Nancy. I highly recommend this location for your eye needs. read more

I had to give 1 star only because I couldnt give zero. I have been waiting 2 months now to get my glasses from this place because they screwed up my prescription the first time. They never seem to be open. Dont bother calling because you will only get a voicemail that is full and cant accept any more messages. This is by far the worst optometrist experience I've ever had. read more

I unexpectedly got an eye infection yesterday that turned bad really quickly. I called this morning to see if I could get an appointment ASAP and they were able to see me today at 10am and was seen right away. Jennifer helped me and was super sensitive towards me since I was in so much pain and had a hard time opening my eye let alone seeing. Dr. Bei was super sweet and made me feel comfortable especially for being a first time patient. I had a problem with my left eye having flashing lights which was very scary. my husband called the office in Murrieta where we live but there were no appts. We were sent to Anaheim Hills and we were seen rather quickly. Dr Culotta did a thorough exam and ruled out a detached retina. I got an appointment to this place today at 9 AM by authorization from my HMO insurance. I walked in exactly 9 AM, the person at the counter is very welcoming asked for my ID and insurance card and asked me to take a seat for couple minutes then she gave me the form to fill in and not even finish the form I got call inside for my eyes checked. They respect your appointment time and waiting time for doctor to see you is very minimal, the place is not big nor fancy but I'm not there for spa treatments so I'm ok with it. The staffs and doctor really nice and respectful. read more

Anaheim Hills -- One of the kind of doctors that likes to overbook. Infuriating and very disrespectful of patients' time. I sat in the waiting room for over an hour BEFORE THE DOCTOR STROLLED IN. By then there were about 20 people waiting inside and lined up outside the office. Many people were elderly and in wheelchairs. It's obvious when a doctor cares more about profits than his patients. read more
