Bad service, brought my SUV in for some work that I had scheduled. Asked for a loaner,I was told they do not do that anymore.Would have to rent from enterprise not a big deal for "one" day. Got a call later that day that, Acton ford didn't have the part.... so I had to rent car for "2" days now great. Got other call saying they had to order other part and they will have that part on Saturday, but the service tech who is working on my SUV is going to be off. so there nobody else??????? Disappointed that they have only "ONE GUY". So I will have to rent for not 1 not 2 but "4" days!!!!!! They should of "lied" to me and said the part would not be in till Monday. Attempted to make appointment to have my Ford Focus serviced. Called last week and this week for an available appointment. Service department made no attempt to try to accommodate me. The receptionist's retort was "We are very busy right now". Instead of trying to accommodate someone who bought their product, which is good customer service, she just blew me off. Hi, I had to post because after reading everything here I was very leary to take my car to Acton Ford. I had my service engine light come on in my 2010 fusion. I had no problems here. When I 1st called they were very nice, when I dropped it off they were nice. They called as promised to let me know what was up and I picked it up the next morning. I was not charged for or told I need anything I do not need etc. I had them do an oil change and what I was charged was competitive with other places. I will take it back here anytime I need service. read more

I have an Audi that is expensive to fix. Bringing to the Audi Dealership always sets me back a grand regardless of what they do...and bringing to a local mechanic results in a lot of head scratching... My rear wheel bearing recently went. I tried to fix it myself but the bolts for the calipers were in a really awkard position and tightened so much that I couldn't get them off. After two weekends of trying I was desparate. Since I work right near Acton Ford and saw that they were open on Patriots day, I stopped in on my way to work. They said that they couldn't do diagnostic work on an Audi, but things like brakes and wheel bearings weren't an issue and took the car. I was a little nervous about leaving it with them because I've heard this story a number of times and then gotten the car back in worse shape than I left it in. At about 2:00 in the afternoon the car was done. Turns out that one of their mechanics is a VW/Audi Nut who has his own VW CC tuner car...he jumped at the chance to work on my Audi and did a great job. Because I supplied the parts that I'd already purchased, and because the mechanic was quick, the job only cost $138. Not bad...I'll be bringing my car back to them for more work in the future. I only gave them four stars because it was an easy job and I don't have much experience with them. read more

Just picked up our new Explorer! I usually dread the whole car buying experience but I have to say that Acton Ford made the whole experience stress free and easy. Charlie was our sales person and he was awesome...this is our 2nd time using him! Always readily available to speak to us and answer any questions we had. Needed 35000 mile service on our 2013 Focus. Also had a transmission recall on the vehicle and some other small issues for the service tech to check out. Called for a service date and time. The process went quickly and we got the date/time we wanted. The 35k service and the transmission control module (TCM) reprogramming were all completed as desired. Everyone we met or talked with we very friendly and accommodating. Service dept texted along the way. Very happy with Acton Ford after this experience. Very poor service! Brought my Ford Explorer Aport Trac in because of a noise that I was hearing on turns . I saw that the rear strut was leaking so I asked them to fix that also. Took them a day and a half to just replace the strut after I had scheduled the service two weeks in advance. They said the part wasn't delivered until late. So when the Service Manager drives my truck around for me to take he asked what was done and said he heard a clunking sound. I told him what they repaired. I drove it home and heard the same sound so I put my truck on a lift and looked to see where the noise was coming from. I found that they totally missed a broken sway bar link. So I went out to the auto parts store and bought a new pair. I replaced the broken one and called the Service Manager. He said they would install the other one free of charge. So I brought the truck back and they installed the other one. I picked up the truck and later that day when I was out driving the truck I heard the same sound I heard before. So I put the truck up on the lift and they had totally messed up the installation of the second sway bar linkage. Picture is attached. Service check in was a breeze and the technician who worked on my car was super! I could tell that my alignment was off and seriously, after this winter who's car is not out of alignment, but looking at my alignment report (before and after) I saw just how many adjustments he needed to make! I brought my car in to Acton Ford for an oil change and to have them check out why my tire pressure sensor alarm was on. When I got my car back they had messed with the light settings and turned off all the headlights (which I didn't realize until driving on the highway at night), they hadn't closed the hood properly and they broke the inner handle of the driver side door (cracked it!) and now the drivers side door won't open unless you use the key. This is our second negative experience with Acton Ford. They do not care for your car and create more problems than they fix. I am extremely disappointed. read more

ACTON FORD will rip you off to the tune of up to several thousand dollars on ANY vehicle trade in. The dealership does this routinely and intentionally as part of their business model. If you are looking to buy a new vehicle and you hope to trade your current vehicle in, DO NOT GO TO ACTON FORD. I have twice directly witnessed this practice in action. In late 2014 ACTON FORD offered me $2500 less than fair market trade in value for my quality Honda Pilot trade-in, that I hoped to put toward purchase of a new truck. I refused this obvious lowball offer that would have cost me $$, and then within 72 hours sold my Honda outright on Craigslist for nearly $3500 more than the Acton Ford trade-in offer. I went back to the dealership this week (Sept 2016) and was offered a whopping $7,000 LESS than fair market/actual trade in value for my late model Ford truck I was considering trading for a new F150. If you don't believe this, contact me by email and I will send you a copy of the offer I received from CarMax for $32K for my trade-in, and a photo of the $25K offer ($7,000 less) from Acton Ford (they would not give me a paper copy of this low offer). I of course walked away from this extraordinarily ridiculous offer as well, and I will no longer use this dealership in any capacity. I then called and spoke personally to ACTON FORD GENERAL MANAGER DAVID ABATSIS, who acknowledged to me that ACTON FORD offered me several thousand dollars less than actual trade in value for my like new trade-in. It seems that Mr. Abatsis pays the trade-in vehicle manager's salary with the funds received via trade-in rip offs, and the dealership then makes hundreds of thousands of dollars more per year in additional profit on trade-in deals with unprepared customers. Mr. Abatsis went on to inform me that the trade in manager has been working at the dealership for over 20 years. It is apparently this person's job to rip you off to the max extent possible on a trade in. Do the math: If ACTON FORD offers just half of the $$7K less than they offered me, that's $3500 less than actual trade-value per vehicle. If they sell just 300 new vehicles a year this way (25 vehicles per month), that's $1,050,000 ($3500 x 300) - over a million dollars per year in profit at the expense of the consumer/right out of your pocket. This is greedy profit at the expense of unprepared customers (suckers) who don't do their homework, might be in a rush to purchase a vehicle, are not educated consumers, or are young/new buyers, even the elderly or veterans (I am a Veteran) - ACTON FORD DOES NOT CARE WHO THEY RIP OFF ON TRADE INS - AND THIS IS WHY IT MAY APPEAR YOU ARE GETTING A GOOD OFFER ON THE PRICE OF A NEW VEHICLE - BECAUSE THEY ARE HOSING YOU TO THE EXTREME ON YOUR TRADE, so buyer beware. My experience with this place was awful and I wouldn't take a roller skate to them for repair. I went in with an oil leak and they said it was the filter. Wrong, it was several leaks none from the filter and I had to point out where they were. Next they called and said the low oil sensor needed to be replaced but said they could save it by using a sealant and save over a $100. I told them okay. Next I pick up the car and the low oil light is lit. They tell me that's my fault as the sensor is bad. I took the car to another garage and they showed me the sensor which was all bent up and obviously destroyed. The repair manager has a bad attitude problem and I would never go back there. My car hasn't even completed its visit in the service department but my experience has been so infuriating that I had to start this review now. 1) I scheduled an 8am appointment a week in advance. It takes a lot to juggle schedules so at least a week in advance is required. 2) I indicated when I dropped off my car the night before, that I would be calling at 10am on the day of the appointment to make sure the brake service was completed. 3) I call at 11 am - I gave them more time! - only to find out that a service advisor had not been assigned and my car hadn't even made it inside the garage bay yet. I was told my SA would be calling me back right away. 4) An hour goes by, no call so I called back. All I got to speak with was a voicemail recording. 5) Another hour goes by, still, no call back. So I again, call, this time punching the #5 on the menu to get a service manager. Voicemail. Perfect. 6) More time passes and I finally get a call back from the manager who says the car was just brought in, he has no idea how long it will take but let him find out and call me back. Just brought in - almost 6 hours after it was supposed to be started. I had the 1st appointment of the day!!!!!!!!!!!! 7) to his credit, he did call me back in about 15 minutes (this was about the only thing to go right here), only to tell me that I needed a complete brake job front and rear and oh, by the way I have these other things I should repair. I asked what the estimate on those was and stopped him after it reached $500. I told him having to pay for a complete brake job first puts those other things out of reach and I cannot afford them. He persists! He tries to tell me I HAVE TO get them done. Then he says I need an oil change service, too. WTF?!?!? 8) Now I'm steamed - I tell SM NOT to do the extra work because I can't afford it all. HE STILL PERSISTS! Finally I scream at him saying I don't have the $$$ to pay for the extra work it will have to wait! 9) I steer him back to I can only afford brakes and I need my car today. I went back to I had arranged my day to be with without my car for the morning but now the day is almost over and I have NO IDEA how I'm going to get my car when/if they finish it today. I explain that this schedule snafu - which he fully admitted they screwed up on & was their fault - I felt warranted some sort of break on the work being done to repay for the inconvenience they caused. 10) The SM then said I will offer and apology saying that they did not pay attention the schedule and he can see where that caused a problem. He then offered 5% off now and 5% on future work - because after-all, he thinks I have to have these other things done and after this experience I'm going back to Acton Ford! (think again) I said I think 10% and a guarantee that the brake work will be done at 5pm was what I thought was fair - all he was going to do was 5% off now. I was VERY clear he was to do ONLY the brakes today. I think 5% is a joke of an offer to rectify their screw up. This is where the real screwing comes in - they had me over a barrel - they knew I needed my car today and I could not afford to pick it up and take it someplace else to be fixed. Acton Ford needs to know what I will be taking this horrible experience higher up for satisfaction. I have been treated poorly, tried to be up-sold and there has been no concern for the trouble their inaction has caused. An "I'm sorry" does not rectify the situation. A simple phone call to me early in the day MAY have avoided this frustration but that requires customer service and concern skills - of which Acton Ford shows to possess none. The issue here was not that my car needed service I was not expecting - but instead, the poor way in which a scheduled appointment was handled and how it took me chasing people down to actually get something done well beyond what is considered reasonable when prior arrangements had been made. I cannot expect that Acton Ford will actually do a quality brake job and that perhaps they would even go out of their way to screw something up just so I need to pay again. After reading other reviews here on YELP, I would not be shocked if that were to prove true. I only wish I had read them first before committing to entrusting my car to them. They get you over a barrel and they know it. Next time, I'll find somebody more local that I can build a trust relationship with - who won't screw me over and who won't try to sell me something I don't need. Oh yeah, and they'll actually stick to a schedule commitment, too. read more

We loved, loved, loved our salesman at Acton Ford. You should ask for Eric LaRiviere if you are looking for a Ford. He put in so much time with us, as we were very undecided on many levels. He was patient with our many questions, always happy to see us for test drives (I think we did 10!!), and was fair-dealing with us and got us the best price available (compared to other dealers we checked with and online). I wish this hard-worker had better support from his management. We'd been there so many times over a few months and the manager didn't come out to greet us until we'd signed paperwork. I brought my car in to be inspected, so this review is only for that, not for sales or for Ford repair or maintenance service. The service desk staff were helpful and very friendly; I was in and out of there in less than half an hour. The waiting area was clean, small and basic but since I was the only one there (it was a weekday afternoon) it was definitely roomy enough and there was a tv showing a news channel, free coffee, tea and filtered water, and some magazines and toys for small children. There were also vending machines for snacks. The service dep't brought my car up front near the entrance when it was ready. My car is an import, not a Ford. read more

I bought a vehicle maintenance package with my car, so they've done all the maintenance brakes, oil, etc. needed so far. I haven't had any issues with this. They've also did some warranty work on the vehicle - all good there too. Finally, I've brought my older vehicles to them and while they might be a little higher than an independent shop (most dealers are) things seem to get done right and on time. read more

I took my 2002 explorer there because I thought my alternater was going as the lights were dimming and the new battery was not charging, $450 dollars later I got it back and made it to my house (2miles) and the car died in my driveway. So I called and they explained maybe the alternater may be bad so i towed it back and they checked it and thought it needed new wiring from the alt. to the motar, so I got it back $450 later, got the car home and it died in my driveway. Now they want me to bring it back AGAIN I explained its 11 years old and worth 2k and ive spent $1000 in repairs and towing but he didnt really care he would have to fix it again and then maybe again. My parents bought all the cars there and had them serviced there over the last 35 years but it fell on deaf ears, What a waste of time and money.. read more

I called them for and appointment for service and that went well. When I dropped the car off after hours the next day they could not make the connection between my car and the service appointment I had set up on the phone. The service department was not made aware of why I had dropped the car off and more importantly they had no idea of the quote I was given to complete the work. I got a call late in the day to inform me that my recall work was completed. I didn't ask to have any recall work done. When I asked about the problem I had with the car they put together another price of over double their initial estimate. When I asked them to check their computer system for my original quote they seemed to cover themselves by saying the car needed more work than I had been quoted. When I asked how they diagnosed the additional problem they could offer no credible reason; diagnostic report, problem code, or any tangible circumstance to warrant the added work. They broken part can not be seen or tested without some parts being removed, they did not remove anything to look or check for and actual issue. Additionally I could not find my registration when I got the car back. I asked them to look for the missing paperwork and they found nothing. I then inquired about SOP's regarding the removal and use of the document. They had no real idea and the mechanic could only help by saying it could be in several places? Not good......I won't be back. read more

I had an amazing experience with the service department at Acton Ford. Working on my truck today, I ran into a few issues and needed some more parts. I stopped in to speak with the parts department and unfortunately, they weren't able to help me. However, Matt, who works in the service department, was called over to assist. He was incredibly knowledgable and told me exactly what was wrong and what I needed to do without even seeing my truck or a picture of my locking hubs. After a short discussion, Matt sent me on my way. I stopped in at the part store next-door to purchase an aftermarket part that is no longer available from Ford and Matt walked in. He actually went out of his way to find me, knowing I was still confused on how to complete my project. He then offered to swing by my house to give me a hand. I agreed and he followed me to my house to help me fix my vehicle. It was a 5 minute fix that saved me from having to have my truck brought in to the dealer. I have never experienced such amazing customer service in my life. I currently have 2 Ford vehicles and will never stray from Acton Ford. My other vehicle will be going in for service on Wednesday and I'm sure it will be another high-quality experience. Thank you again, Matt, for going above and beyond. I have to give credit where credit is due and express my apologies to the folks at Acton Ford Service Dept. I wrote a rude review Saturday evening without giving them a chance to make things right. I showed up at the Service Dept this AM with "both barrels loaded" and explained the issue. I had requested Goodyear tires and not Michelin's as I was looking to save some money. I discovered later Saturday evening that Michelin's were put on my car and with that, there was a substantial.price difference and I immediately thought I was being taken advantage of. During the course of explaing the situation to one of the Service personnel, Dan, the Service Manager heard my conversation and immediately said he would make it right and he certainly did and I really appreciate it. Once again my apologies for my prior review as, I wasn't fair in letting them explain or review the situation. I was wrong. Thanks again for making things right. read more

This is the first time in my life that I have ever reviewed anything. I just met the worst person in my life that I ever tried to buy something from. I emailed them for a price on an Explorer. I asked them if they could offer me a price that was below Invoice. I got a response back from a "sales" guy named Dave H. with a price that I thought was too high to be under invoice. I then replied that I thought it was too high and I then told him that I had a quote on a Toyota 4 Runner that was below invoice and I was probably going to buy that. I thanked him for his time and I thought that would be the end of it! I then received an email from him stating that he wasn't surprised that I would opt for a "less expensive and lesser quality" vehicle like a Toyota. After I picked myself up off the floor from laughing so hard at the notion that there was even one person on the planet that believed that Toyota was lesser quality than Ford I emailed him back saying that I could not believe that he would insult a competitor like that. I have been in sales for a long time and the first thing I learned was to never talk bad about competition let alone put something so ridiculous in writing. The worst part is that he still wasn't done. He then emailed me saying that I should be ashamed of myself for wasting his time and to go and look at a Kia. I then left a voice mail for his manager. The only thing more embarrassing for the owner of this business than this guy representing him is the fact that I never even got a follow up call from anyone. That tells me more about the business than the nutty sales guy that I started with. Anyway, I am going to pick up my new "lesser quality" 4 Runner today that I spent $4000 more on than I would have for the Explorer. I was willing to give Ford a chance because I think they have come a long way and I think there is something to be said for "buying American" but I wouldn't buy a pack of gum from this dealer. read more

I went to Acton Ford to get four new tires, since my previous ones were nearly bald, and an alignment. All winter, I have had zero problems with the car handling on snowy roads. Just two days after getting the new set of tires and the alignment my car, from a dead stop at a red light, slid in the middle of a left turn on a relatively clear road, hitting a curb, knocking the tire off the rim and possibly screwing up the alignment again. The pathetic "tire iron" that came with the car - a collapsable thing I'm not entirely convinced is made of real metal - became stripped and bent beyond use when I attmepted to take the bolts off the tire. I can confirm that I am not a particularly large guy, so there is no way I should have been able to break that objcet beyond use trying to change a single tire. I wasn't even able to loosen four of the five bolts. Due to the timing of collision, and the long wait times on tow trucks in the area (a bad snow storm had started about an hour or two after I hit the curb), I was forced to leave the car overnight, sitting on the rim, so that I could come back in the morning with a real tire iron. Thankfully, with the new tire iron, I had no problems getting the busted tire off and putting the donut on. Go BACK to Acton Ford - now four days after having gotten the four tires/alignment - and tell them that the car should NOT have behaved that way given the road conditions, nor should a brand new tire have been knocked off the rim so easily from a such a low-speed collision with a curb, only to be asked "How is it the tires fault?" Claiming it could have been a defective tire or a poor alignment job yielded similiarly negatively results. The employee I spoke with responded in what I considered a needlessly sarcastic manner. Nearly an hour after first sitting down in the waiting area of the dealership, a second employee came to find me, letting me know that they had originally ordered a tire for me, found one in house and reserved it (which is why my appointment was at 10:30 am), but "accidentally" sold it, forcing me to wait until 2:00 pm for the work to even be started. Given the rude responses, incompetence, and the utter lack of friendly service I have received from this place, it's certain that I will never bring my Ford back here for any sort of work, nor will I ever consider buying from this place. read more
