DO NOT CONTRACT WITH THIS COMPANY. I contracted with them to do my regular pest control at my property and was fairly satisfied with the service. I recently had a rodent issue arise and the experience with Active has been awful. The first tech that came out to the property missed details when writing up the repairs for exclusion services and completely left out that the crawl space doors needed to be replaced. The exclusion service Crew came out to the property to do only the repairs listed and did not have materials to complete the crawl space doors. They made a "temporary" fix to the doors and assured me they would return within two to three days. They auto-drafted me for the remaining balance and have yet to complete the job. No calls and no show for the scheduled time to return. Awful customer service and responsiveness to a serious issue. Don't use Active!!! Awful!! read more

WARNING! Active Pest Control employees are not only negligent but completely lack compassion towards pets and people. I cancelled my Active Pest termite service and a representative was sent to my home without my permission to remove their monitoring stations. Not only did he not have my permission, he left my backyard gate wide open and let my poor dog out of the yard. As a pet lover, I found this cruel act truly upsetting because I have a Ring doorbell and he knew no one was at home because when he rang my doorbell no one answered. After coming home and combing the the neighborhood in tears looking for my dog for more than an hour, luckily I found him safe and sound. Got the termite repair and retreat one year warranty plan for $92 on Groupon ("$599 value"). We purchased the $99 groupon deal (one-year termite package) ($599 value). We had the sales inspector come to our house and he would not provide the one-year termite package without us giving him an additional $99 for drilling. It's pretty standard that termite company does drill around house and install the termite control according to other well known company such as TERMINIX and ORKIN. They never charge extra on the price. After reading everyone's review, I realize $99 for the groupon deal is only a BAIT to keep you paying. This company's customer service is terrible and we do not trust it one bit that they would actually take care termite problem if we ever need to relay on them one day down the road.... Stay away from the deal. The business probably think they could take advantage over homeowners due to the fact that most people won't take them to small claim over $99. My husband and I love Active. The technicians are always very polite and thorough and they're really good about scheduling an in-home treatment if you call saying you've been having problems. When they come for the quarterly outdoor treatment, they're always quick and quiet. I usually don't even know they're there until I get the email with the visit summary. This is a rip off, they came for inspection and said i have slab at my back yard door and they will need an additional 150 dollars to drill that. Also, because my front is staccato they need additional 280 dollars to cut it and confirm there is no termite. The $599 coupon is for their liquid treatment plan only. So, they did not have any intention of honoring the Groupon coupon. If its the case, why do they need to sell it here. This is a dishonest practice and it speaks volume about their ethics. read more

For the first time EVER I had a pest control company that showed up on time. My tech was awesome and wasn't pushy. He knew his stuff and was genuinely helpful. I thought since I had a Groupon I'd receive sub par service, but that was far from the truth. My tech, Kenneth, was professional, cleaned up after himself and courteous. I highly recommend active pest control! The sales person, Mark Mitchell made the process so smooth and easy. I had a few questions for Mark and he always picked up his phone, even in the early evening. That is something quite unusual in this day and age. I had a termite bait system installed in our townhomes here in my subdivision of Pilgrim Lake off of Pilgrim Mill Rd. Brian and his coworker installed The 18 bait stations quickly and efficiently. He explained the process and made sure not to disturb any of my recent plantings in the front yard. In additional they treated the entire outside foundation with a liquid application. Contract Rip Off! I was not told about a lock in contract I signed up, but when i wanted to cancel the services, they have sneaky exit fee. A business should keep its customers by providing good service not sneaky contracts. I am a victim of the sneaky contract by Active Home Solutions pest control. When I signed up for a termite service through an advertisement, I was told about the pest control service. So I wanted to give it a shot and paid the initial cost. But I did not need it, so I called to cancel the service before it renewed. But a man named Billy Woods bulled me saying I am trying to bully them by saying I was not satisfied with their service. I was not told of any contract for the pest control, I only wanted to give it a shot and when i wanted to cancel the service they want to rip me off with a $90 charge. I have used Active Pest Control for several years for a rental property with no issues. However, I recently requested a quote for my primary residence and they scheduled an appointment for a Saturday from 11:00 to 1:00. They did not show up so I left a voicemail letting them know the technician did not show up. I received a call on Tuesday and was told that there was a miscommunication and that they were not working over the Memorial Day weekend. It would have been nice if they had figured this out before making me wait and them not showing up. I offered to reschedule if they could guarantee a time when they would show up but was told that they could only offer two hour windows. They made no attempt at service recovery so I will look elsewhere to take my business. read more

WARNING THEY ARE RUTHLESS AND DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THEM! There was a change in our work situation and I called to beg them to work with us. They told me he had signed a contract that was over in May and we would have to pay the cancellation fee. Not only was this very disappointing but the service itself was ineffective. They were hired in May to treat mosquitos in our back yard which was a joke. Ironically enough after each service the mosquitos seemed to be worse than before the treatment. I was always calling back asking them to retreat which was perpetually a waste of time. A few times they came inside to treat cockroaches and the same thing happened- they were worse after the treatment. Many times they would not come out during the designated time and initially after the first treatment they did not show up for several scheduled appointments. This company is the WORST in terms of professionalism, customer service and results. Find someone else. Save your money and the headaches that follow. Do not sign a contract with them. read more

I had HVAC and Termite protection with Active Home Soutions. I live in Seattle and rent a property in Atlanta. I was paying for the yearly maintance on the AC. One day my tenet called me to say they where having issues with the AC unit. I called Active and they informed me that they were not servicing my area anymore. I had a few issues with this. One they never told me they stopped servicing. Two they had only stopped servicing months before so why were there all these issues. I called another company who found several issues that should have been addressed by routine mainenance. I'm not even sure Active ever went to my house, even though they certainly took my money. Based on this experience I canceled my termine policy too, which I had always without second guessing it. I've called several times asking for service records to ensure they actually went ot my property, but I keep getting the run around and I can't get the records. read more

Lousy, lousy customer service. If you do business with this company, you are in for a headache. Very poor business practices. We used them for our home pest control and termite control. After we grew weary from dealing with them (changing the price, etc.) So we stopped using them and hired another co. This was 4 yrs ago. Last summer they show up for a termite inspection that we never requested. I contacted the company and asked them to remove us from their customer list and to never show up here again. Two weeks ago, a tech shows up AGAIN to do termite inspection. My husband told him we did not make this appt and that we have another company. Within days we received a bill for $161 and a note from the tech that customer "cancelled service". I called and left a msg asking someone to contact me re: a bill for no services rendered. Instead of a call, they sent ANOTHER bill. My husband called and asked for confirmation in writing that we owe NOTHING. The receptionist snarkily said OK. I doubt we will get this from them, but we are prepared to take them to court. They really are despicable. Run, do not walk away from this disreputable firm. read more

Comcast might have better customer service than Active Pest Control. I had wildlife getting in my attic and the inspector diagnosed the problem as the "builder's gap" along the roofline. I paid over $1000 for this service with the assurance that any animals breaching the home would be covered by a 12 month warranty. The animals were back within weeks, and the company has not covered anything, ever. In nearly a year of working with them they never followed up on anything, refused to clean up their work, and never corrected the original problem. Now they are asking for more money to address some of the work I already paid them to do. They obviously also have major internal communication issues and refuse to allow escalation of the issue. It seems they know their service in this area is terrible and will not fix it. I would never, ever recommend them for wildlife control. read more

I cannot stop boasting about Active Pest Control, not only do they provide VIP treatment to take care of at least a dozen different pests, but they also assisted me with rodent proofing, rodent feces disinfecting-Oh! And if you need them to remove the nasty insulation that is infected with mold, feces, or whatever reason they offer removal and installing new or putting back the existing insulation after treatment. Mark Weaver has been my inspector since day one. He's never too busy to walk me through what is needed and providing me a very reasonable estimate. He's the best professional there is, and he has saved me thousands of dollars and I'm glad that Active Pest Control is also going to encapsulate my basement, borate fungus/mold, and make my basement look, feel, smell brand new. I highly recommend this company for many different trades that are done licensed, accurate, and top quality. read more

BEWARE!!! Had rats in my house, and the "inspector" Miguel sold me on the pest exclusion plan which cost almost $2K to get the builders gap closed along my roof line and pest trap service - he promised their guarantee of the service and was confident it would stop the rats from entering the home. I am 11 months into my 1 year contract - and still rats in my house!!! I am sick of seeing dead rats and calling Active to retrieve. They inspected again this week, and the inspector put his boot through my ceiling when in my attic and fixed it with shoddy patch and paint work, so now I have a huge white patch in the hallway ceiling. They are richer and I have more rats than ever. NOBODY at Active Pest Control will own your issue, it is a large company which has different departments - none of which talk to one another to help solve the problem. I have requested to speak to a manager for A MONTH NOW and still have not been able to get in contact with one. I now get the impression that they do not want to put more traps in my house because it is costing them too much money to keep coming to pick up the rodents. I wish rat meat was in demand - me and Active would have a money maker on our hands! UPDATE: 4/12/17 Spoke with Juan the manager finally after trying to have a manager contact me for over a month! He offered to come back out and look at it himself - unfortunately I have just had enough with Active Pest Control after 1 year of this. He said he can't authorize refunds, but referred it to yet another person - a Vice President - Devin Duley. It has been a week since my discussion with Juan and still no call from Devin Dooley. I called Juan this morning, and he said he spoke with Devin after our call. I told Juan that I expected a call by the end of this week and he agreed that was appropriate, and would talk to Devin again today. We will see - I will bring updates each week to let you know how this company resolves the issue. Do not use this company. The offered a livingsocial deal but when they can out to do the inspection, they said that I had a small infestation and would need to let them take care of it before they would honor the deal. The rep was very rude and told me that I would have to pay for the service before they would come out to do the work or pay COD when they came. He implied that I for some reason could not be trusted to pay when the service was performed. I guess I live in the wrong neighborhood for them. read more
