I would confidently recommend this company. Hiep was referred to me by long time West Seattle real estate agent, Brent Fosso (who by the way is amazing) I found Hiep to be knowledgeable,  professional,  fair and honest. She gave me some references to call prior to hiring her and the client I spoke to was enthusiastic in his recommendation. He sent me before and after pics and indicated he would use her services again. So last winter, Hiep and her crew repaired a failing retaining wall in my back yard. To do so she had to remove our wooden fence. She did this carefully and was able to put the same fence back up, replacing only a few of the wooden planks. This saved me some money and I was impressed that she actually let me know that and reduced it from the agreed upon price of the project Without My Asking! She's a person of integrity and that can be hard to come by in her  field of work. Since I could not be present during the work, I was very pleased that she sent me pictures and videos of the work throughout the day. Hiep and her crew did an amazing job for us. She was our second bid and almost 50% less with a more logical design than the first person we spoke with. Her crew did in one week what would have taken me a year. Before we had a slightly sloping back yard with rotting wood borders and now we have a professionally installed engineered wall with two levels enabling us to install a trampoline for our kids. About a year ago I used Active Landscaping to replace a 20 year old cedar fence. It was about 500 ft of fence total with a couple of gates. The crew arrived when they said they would, tore out the old fence and installed the new in just a few days. This year I had them come back to work on the yard. I had removed an old play set and the area underneath was starting to turn to weeds. Active's team came and de-thatched the entire back yard, raked up the old playset bark, then top-dressed with new dirt, leveled the whole yard and reseeded. In addition they cleaned up the flower beds, trimmed the hedges and edged the lawn. Altogether I'm very pleased with their work. The prices are very competitive. The did what they said they would do and didn't leave a mess. I would not hesitate to use Active Landscaping again. read more

After years of frustration dealing with unskilled, unreliable lawn services I contacted a very picky friend who lives near me in Redmond and asked who she used. She gave me Hiep's name and I contacted her that same day. We made an appointment for her to see what I wanted. She came out, gave me a very reasonable quote, and her crew started servicing my lawn the next week. That was in three seasons ago and I've been using them exclusively since then. They cut the grass, edge the perimeter, rake and blow the flower beds, and haul away the debris away in their truck. Heip's crew is fast, efficient, and professional. Hiep was recommended by two of my friends. They both said her team does good work at a very competitive price. We made our first appointment at 10am on March 26th. She didn't show up. I called and she apologized that she made a mistake on the time and she came soon after our call. I didn't receive her bid for a week. After I sent her a reminder, she sent me the bid on April 3rd and said her first email was bounced back. Her bid was competitive and we verbally agreed to book our project for the first week of May. Since we have about 15 stumps that needed to be removed before her team could start their work, I had her visit our site for the second time to talk about our plans. She recommended an excavation company which we ended up using. I kept her updated on when the excavator would start working and we agreed that her team would start after the excavation is done which would be the second week of May. The timing would work out great for me since I'll be out of the country in early June and the work would be done by the time I leave. I communicated my travel plan to her since the beginning. After the excavator arrived, I called and asked her to stop by while the excavator was working to make sure areas that need to be prepared for her work did get prepped. She said OK but she was busy with something else and would get back to me on when she could stop by. That became the last time I ever heard from her. During the 2 and half days when the excavator was here, I called her 3 times, left her voice messages, and texted her two times. No response. After the excavator left, during the next few days, I called, texted, and emailed letting her know that the excavation had been done and asked when she could start. Dead silence. I thought maybe something bad happened to her? Talked to someone who knows her and was told that he actually spoke to her during the time when the excavation was being done at our site. Clearly she got enough work and probably a bigger project or two somewhere else and lost interest in my project. It would have been kind and professional if she had let me know she's too busy to take on my job and I would have started looking for someone else sooner. So now three weeks before my big trip, I have to start from scratch to gather bids. No one will be able to finish the work before I start my trip. She really screwed me up. Yes, her price is competitive. However, my experience proved that "you get what you paid for" is so true. read more
