And yet more climbing
Jennifer S.

Sooo much fun! We went for our first time with another family and tried it out. This is a great facility with awesome instructors and sooo many climbing walls. They also have bouldering and ninja warrior activities. Perfect place for active play for all ages. We will be back!

My first hot yoga experience was a GREAT one! A couple gals from work invited me to Thursday night…read morehot yoga at Space Yoga, and I was excited but nervous - I dabbled in yoga during Covid quarantine, but I'm no expert, and I've never done it in a 90 degree room! Booking the class online was easy, and I love their financially accessible price model. I paid online before class. Then I chugged water all day, fearing passing out from dehydration during hot yoga that evening. But when 7pm rolled around, and I showed up to Space Yoga, all my fears were gone! The studio has a great atmosphere - zen, low-lighting, and no mirrors. Everyone was welcoming, and they had all the mats, yoga blocks, and fresh towels everyone needed. Many brought their own mats, but Space Yoga had plenty clean ones to spare (and plenty of extra mat cleaner). Everyone set up their mat anywhere they felt comfortable, and there was no pressure. Perfect for someone who goes every week, or just someone who was showing up for the first time. There were probably 20 people there for class. The owner gave us a few kind words, and then the instructor began. She was great! Not too slow and not too fast, and when we began a new pose, she would describe plenty of variations for it so people would be comfortable regardless of skill level. There was no walking around the room and critiquing poses - just a calm, group environment to practice yoga at your own pace with no pressure. As for the "hot" part of the yoga... I loved it! I set up my mat in the back, trying to stay far away from the heater, but next time I will move closer to it. The heat felt great and loosened up those muscles! I will be coming back for hot yoga, and I'll definitely be trying out some other classes! One more quick note - as this studio is at the corner of Central Ave and Monte Sano Ave, I wouldn't say there is ample parking. If you show up too early (more than 15 mins before class), all the parking in front of the studio (on the Central Ave side) is still full from the previous class, but if you show up too late (at the time class starts), you may not get a spot either. However, I was able find parking along Monte Sano Ave on the other side of Central Ave (heading towards St. Mary's), so just be prepared to not park directly in front of the studio if need be.

Cons: if you're like me and don't like loud music with a person over a microphone, this studio isn't for you. I was highly overwhelmed with the volume of the music. I am originally from south Florida and attending classes at oxygen has made Augusta feel more like home. I took my first class in October 2020 and since then I have lost 25 lbs. I highly recommend trying different classes and different instructors - they all bring a different experience to each workout. My mental health is so much better when I'm working out at oxygen regularly. I can really tell how I feel when I stop making it a priority. Luckily they are always doing challenges with prizes that get me to kick it back into gear!!

So far I have attended 5 classes since joining 4 days ago, doubling up on classes yesterday. They offer multiple membership packages starting at 4 classes a month, 8 classes a month, and unlimited. They are opening a second location soon so that will open up more options for classes. Memberships are on a 90 day basis and then roll month to month. Like most contracts, cancellation must be done in a written format, 30 days in advance. Class sizes are small (12 reformers) so they can get booked quickly but I haven't had an issue with finding available times, I just have to be creative with my schedule. Classes range from level 1, 1.5, and 2. I have really enjoyed the reformer class and the restore class. I will be trying the cardio and the balance class next week. All of the instructors that I have met are amazing and I'm looking forward to meeting the others and trying out the other classes.

Harmony Hot Yoga, Pilates & Aerial Center: The Gem of the South…read more As soon as you enter this impeccable space, it is immediately apparent this is a place of sanctuary. The clean lines, the gorgeous wood, the smiling faces who greet you as soon as you enter: this is THE PLACE to be healed, inside and out. I have had the pleasure of teaching at several yoga studios across the nation, and to take a number of workshops and classes at even more of them. By far, Harmony is the most refined, state-of-the-art studio I have ever practiced. Harmony was conceived in the spirit of authenticity, and studio owners Kay and Dewey Forrester are undeterred in their mission to spread the message of restoration and well-being to the Milledgeville community and beyond. They have structured their life in the essence of agape`, the Christian term for "the highest form of love" and "the love of God for man and of man for God," and it certainly shows. The hot Bikram and Vinyasa classes will realign your spine and make you feel as if you can take on the world, but there are other offerings at this studio that will appeal to beginners and experienced practitioners alike. Inferno Hot Pilates classes consist of full-body High Intensity Interval Training--using controlled movements to achieve long, lean muscle--and Tabata--a method whereby eight sets of an exercise are conducted in two and a half minutes, 20 seconds of activity followed by 10 seconds of rest. These classes are as addictive as their positivity is infectious, and the group energy of the Harmony regulars is positively unprecedented. For those of you seeking something with a bit more levity and less heat, aerial yoga provides just that: stretching through the use of trapeze silks. It is an interesting and fun way to engage muscle groups using the silk as a prop. Caribbean-inspired dance classes and gentler yoga offerings are also provided. All of these classes are beginner-accessible, and this studio has a knack for attracting the most knowledgeable and committed instructors around to help you along the way. The Forresters have committed their lives to improving the quality of life for their friends and neighbors, and they are a visible testament to living in accordance with the higher power who compelled them to this path. Whether you are a seasoned yogi, looking to spice up your fitness routine, or a complete fitness newbie, this is certainly the place for you. Please visit http://www.harmonyhotyoga.com/ to see schedule times and to book your new favorite class today! You may also telephone (478) 454-8806 for any inquiries before your first class. From entering the door to the moment you leave, you can trust you will be cared for here. Located at 1841 North Columbia Street Suite C in Milledgeville, please make sure to drop in to Harmony Hot Yoga Pilates & Aerial Center. When it comes to fitness, community, and 100% heart, this is truly the gem of the South.

I was looking for Village Fitness reviews and saw no one has written a review for over two years…read more I wonder why? I have been attending Water Aerobics classes, Cardio Barre, Gentle Stretch Yoga, Flow and Deep Stretch Yoga, RIP and Restorative Yoga for over three years at this center. So I think I am qualified to mention a few things from my experience. Village Fitness is very fortunate to have a dedicated group of fully trained and certified instructors. I have to mention a few ladies by name - Katie, Patty, Frere, Dolorita and Sydnee and give them the credit and kudos they all deserve. They all conduct fun, beneficial and worthwhile classes. I also have to give high praise to MaryBeth, the Front Desk Manager. She is the type of employee every business needs at their front office to greet and know all the members by name and the classes they attend. Mary Beth keeps everything at the Fitness Center running smoothly, keeps everyone in fresh clean towels, keeps the ladies changing room stocked and spotless and handles complaints and problems with a big smile that we all see each time we check in. She follows through on your concerns and gets back with an answer. Good Job MaryBeth! I hope management knows and appreciates their staff. Having MaryBeth or one of the other smiling faces greeting me by name early in the morning as I enter the facility makes a difference. And I see how a great staff encourages members to attend more regularly.
