The four of us did Vampyr; we did not escape but were close-ish. Very fun and dynamic puzzles, a little something for everyone. There was enough to do that our group could be working on multiple puzzles at a time. Mitchell was our Game Master again. He's really good at offering clues once we've reached a dead end but not so much that we felt like we weren't solving it ourselves

In my search I came across The Final Door. They had a few different escape room options listed online with an array of available time slots. I called for clarification on age appropriateness and minimum amount of people required. I received great customer service and all my questions answered, so I booked online. We headed over, upon arrival (10mins early) we completed the required waivers and waited in the lounge area for our game host to arrive. Once Noah arrived we went over the house rules (no phones or photos allowed) and then the game was started. I picked the BLACKOUT room. I was advised that it would be doable for 2ppl and was appropriate for my newly appointed teenage niece. The game is an hour long, Noah was a great guide, friendly with good energy and provided subtle hints when needed. With multiple rooms and serval task/clues to decipher we had a great time and happy to report that we ESCAPED and took some cute photos at the end. I am unable to provide details about the room, because one of the rules ask that you don't share to avoid spoilers for others. Just A Note: Of course I'm leaving a Yelp review but they ask that you leave a review on Google or TripAdvisor. With Google reviews Noah gets tipped out of company money. Noah was worth me heading to Google.

On my last visit to hang with the family (Sept 2025), my youngest niece was invited to the birthday…read moreparty of one of her peers @ Escapology. We decided to book a separate escape room for the rest of the fam and make it a girls outing, while the adolescent was enjoying the festivities. This made the best usage of time, especially since we had to drop her off and pick her up anyway. So, I booked the "Under Pressure" room for four, and it was a few dollars less than $175. When booking online the night before I realized some of the more popular times and sort after rooms were unavailable. Times slots for a few rooms became sold out as I was trying to book. Nonetheless, I mange to complete the purchase and have the liability waivers completed. This visit to Escapology is my 3rd Escape room while visiting the Columbia area and one of the nicer ones on just first impressions, location and parking. The staff was extremely friendly and the waiting/reception area was nicely themed and designed. Upon arrival we were checked and asked to wait while the room was prepared. Once our room was ready we were escorted to the start, giving directions & safety instructions, and then the clock was started. Of course they ask that you do not take videos/photos to not expose any clues to the game. The room was clean and the clues were mostly straight forward. We ended with a victory and escaped with merely seconds to spare. However, there were a few inconsistencies with the order of clues and we encounter a couple of missing or broken pieces/steps in the process of solving the puzzles and escaping. This has happened to me before (with another company) it can be frustrating and cause you not to beat the clock, but like I said we managed to succeed. Albeit by the skin of our teeth. Lol Overall we enjoyed the room and took our victory photos after. We were given rubber bracelets marking our achievement of beating the room. They have bracelets for each room and offer patrons the challenge of completing and collecting them all. After completion they offer a return promo/discount if you book your next escape room the same day. It's recommended if you enjoyed it because you get a little break on the price and I believe you can book it up to six months out. Just A Note: -If coming with a group I will recommend booking early. -If possible, I suggest that one person books for everyone to ensure getting the room and time you prefer. (Recommended but not required)

I happened to be in Columbia during my birthday and my family insisted that we do something…read more Our original brunch option was canceled so I suggested an escape room. Looking for an option online that had a room that would accommodate all the people in my party. I came across the Escape Plan Columbia and their "What Happened to Detective Magnum" The description seemed fun and interesting. We arrived early for our 11:30 appt. There was plenty of parking and the staff was pleasant. We introduced to a few different employees as our room was being set-up but our actual host was someone totally different. I booked privately for a group of six, but we ended up being a party of 5. Of my group I am the only one that has done escape rooms previously. I would like to say the idea of the "What Happened to Detective Magnum" room was good and our host Hailey was very sweet and impressionable. However, I was disappointed in the overall experience. The room itself is 80's theme and dated, that is fine because it goes with the whole premise, but lighting is extremely poor. As well as many of the clues and locks for the safes are unreadable. The numbers are extremely worn. Without giving away any clues for the room, one important clue was incomplete (pieces were missing) and our host Hailey had to come in and actually complete that section for us. As a result we lost time and honestly our excitement was deflated. I enjoyed the idea of the room and Hailey as our host because she really tried to salvage the experience but I think it's unfortunate that minor details that are vital to the game are overlooked and not properly maintained. I mean you need complete clues and the ability to read the numbers on the safe (a marker or polish can replace missing numbers on safe dials) to advance in the room. One of our clues was missing a whole part that was required to spell a word needed to get a code. I had fun with my group but the overall experience fell flat and was a little disappointing. It was not a good first impression for all those who never experienced and escape. Just A Note: Hailey was great and really sweet.
