I was driving back from southern Utah on the Freeway Friday afternoon and was 30 minutes away from Provo when my 2017 Tahoe transmission started slipping, up shifting, and downshifting erratically. The transmission temperature was rising . I decided to slowdown and limp into Provo. I immediately called Action transmission as I knew they were the Best in State. Stephanie took my call and said to just drop the car off and they would look at it. I mentioned I had an extended warranty policy on the Tahoe and she said that it would not be a problem and they had experience working with Extended Warranties. The next day their transmission technicians reported that the clutch system was shredded and a full rebuild was required. Stephanie contacted my warranty insurance company. They required pictures and a zoom inspection of the transmission. Stephanie happily handled these details. My insurance company agreed to the work required and Action rebuilt the transmission in minimum time. Working with extended warranty companies required quite a few phone calls for the inspection, approval, and payment. Stephanie handled a myriad of phone calls to keep process moving. I dropped in a few times and was able to get my technician to explain and show me the damage and fix. The repaired transmission runs better than new and comes with their Service Guarantee. Action Transmission has the best transmission technicians in the country. The management staff to include Joe and Jon are easy to work with and are accessible. But the best part of working with Action Transmission was Stephanie and her nonstop concern to get the insurance company to approve the work and always keeping me in the loop with updates. I have never experienced this level of customer care. I would not bother looking anywhere else if you have any transmission or driveline problems. read more

Horrible customer service. Was lied to on multiple occasions about my vehicle. Told me it was done the day before I called which I know was false since I can track my vehicle remotely. It was finished 3 days prior and driven over to their old shop, which upon they never charged up my brand new batteries that they killed. After telling them I would be up the next day to pay for and pick it up, they still never took the initiative to charge the vehicle and bring it back to the location I was going to be dropped off at for pick up. Then told me to go to their other shop to try and jump the vehicle myself with two jump boxes they lent me, which were dead as well. Finally after they (Jon) agreed to swap out the batteries (since I had a warranty on them) I was able to get my vehicle the next day. Mind you I live an hour from this place. Lastly after leaving my first review, (Jon) called me wanting to know why I left a bad review, so I politely explained it to him over the phone. He is now upset with my view of what happen and wants to charge me for installing the batteries that they are responsible for killing. In summation, HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND this place. Customer service is key and this company FAILED miserably. I would give negative stars if it would let me. read more

we had transmission problems going through Provo Utah. It was on late saturday afternoon, so me made it to a campground and knew we had to wait until Monday. Action transmission was recommended by a wonderful man who had just finished kayaking. We called Monday morning and after explaining our situation and need to get back to Minnesota, Stephanie said come on in and we were diagnosed that morning. Our class C was on the lift and transmission was taken out THAT Monday. We had the best updates, and knew every step that was taken . The service professionals were so knowledgeable, so agreeable, so expert, we were on the road by Wednesday. The price was well within reason of the rebuild the transmission needed. With my Sienna at a dealership in Salt Lake wanting $7,100 for a new transmission to resolve some check engine light warnings, Mike at Action was so kind and wonderful to discuss options that might solve the warning lights and codes. He spent a significant amount of time with me on the phone -- also realizing that I would probably not travel to his shop -- and he recommended just getting a transmission service (flushing), suggesting that might clean up the transmission sufficiently to last months without replacing it. The dealership did do that service and I and my Sienna traveled 550 miles that night back to my home near Reno with no hint of a recurring check engine light or codes. Our car A/C suddenly quit immediately followed by the gears not shifting properly. We were able to barely make it out of the strip mall. What a blessing! Action Transmission was just about a block of our total drive into their driveway! It was getting close to closing time. The next day the serpentine belt and A/C belt were fixed and our 1999 Honda Accord, (my Baby) was on the road again! Thank you for advising us on the oil leak also. We always go to Action Transmission for service on all of our vehicles. All of the staff here have the "Utah Attitude"! They care about their customers and are always willing to answer our questions. I took my '92 F-250 in because I need to replace the tires, but wanted to have someone check the clutch, transmission, drivetrain, etc before I pay for tires. Because the truck is almost 30 years old, I was expecting to have a long list of things that "need fixing." I was incredibly impressed when Mike called me to tell me that they didn't see anything pressing, but recommended coming back in a few months to flush some fluids and do some maintenance after it gets a few more miles on it. He talked specifically about the clutch and transmission, and all of the things they checked but didn't feel comfortable repairing/replacing them while they still have some good life in them. I was on vacation and my transmission went out at 2:30 in the morning. Two states away from home, and pretty depressed I was not continuing to Vernal to see my son, whom due to covid I had not see since last September. The girl at the front desk of my hotel sent me to Action. Not only was this shop friendly and professional, they were flat out amazing. Within 2 hours the the morning they had a rental car arranged to pick me up, my truck diagnosed and a plan to have it repaired. I was on the road and continuing on my vacation. Yes. Just yes. There's so much bad service in the valley. So many bad shops taking advantage of people. Action Transmissions is NOT one of those places. I scoured the internet trying time find somewhere I felt comfortable bringing my suburban to. These guys are it. They were open and straightforward with their pricing. Joe gave me a good price but he turned around my truck in TWO DAYS. Forget waiting weeks or a month--48 hours and it was ready. Keep in mind they only do transmissions. So don't take your car there if you are looking for a shop that wants to do everything, but if you're needing a transmission there's nowhere else that even compares. Nowhere even close. Great job on the transmission rebuild I loved it, only complaint I can make is I wish they were more upfront about the price of everything but for 4k I think about how much I paid, I got a great c6 I beat the piss out of till I sold the car and the peace of mind I had with the lifetime warranty. I love showing the transmission off it's nice shiny shifts like butter and if you call around to other shops, action transmission is honestly about the same price but can be a little bit more just for the warranty they offer I believe it's more then worth it. Will definitely be bringing my new Torino here if I can get the same price. read more

Great experience - got an appointment easily, they asked the right questions and listened closely to my answers. I took it there because the dealer recommended a new transmission and I wanted a 2nd opinion. Turned out that the transmission is still good, but I needed to make adjustments to the rear suspension - which is significantly cheaper! I chose to go with action transmission because of their warranty policy. They rebuilt my ford Bronco transmission and unfortunately some parts went bad, but it was nothing they did wrong. I took it back to them and they did not have to honer the warranty because I put the transmission back in after it was rebuilt. But because they are a great company they fixed it without us paying a thing. So they respected the warranty and more! Very easy to work with! read more
