Their store Manager, Gabe, is very eager to help you and makes things very smooth. Joann, who is one of my go-to sales/pawn brokers, is amazing, kind, and very helpful. Caleb, who is another employee that I like to go to, is very knowledgeable about the items I have brought from them. Matt is my go-to when I am purchasing guns, gun accessories, or if I just need questions answered about an item in the Gun department. Good selection of pawn shop items, seems quality is a bit higher than some other pawn shops, so I imagine they do a bit of vetting before accepting items. Large firearm/ammo/accessories section, would have to do more research before commenting on prices, as these have been pretty volatile. Staff was available and offered help if we needed anything. Stereo stuff takes up an entire aisle, 20 foot wall display case of cameras, GPS, phones, and camcorders. Rims galore! Another case with tablets and sunglasses; a complete car audio section. Jewelry selections are endless which the wife liked; decent selection of high end watches for me. We found a good price on a diamond ring for $500, most of the small diamonds were clear while the center stone had a huge chunk of carbon inside. Nice, but not nice enough for the price. The gun department has close to 500 examples. Yep, this is a military town! I've recently found myself looking at different handguns, excellent selection thats thoughtfully displayed with the calibers listed by section. A Desert Eagle used will set you back around $900 here; though thats a bit large for my taste. Tools, sporting goods, and music equipment round out the rest of the merchandise. Honestly, for me a true pawn review details the employees and their ability to haggle. I asked for the best price on a certain watch, they didn't budge a dollar. Really, you have a profit margin and most of your merchandise has a plenty of padding. If you make the customer feel at least for a moment that they can get a deal, the pawn shop wins. For this Action Pawn, you feel the opposite. Sure, its less than retail but not by much. When I visited your store in Killeen, Texas, 1107 Ft Hood Street, the managers Doug and Logan would not honor the advertised marked down price on a chain saw that I tried to purchase. They refused to sell the pawned item that had been there for over a year for the markdown price because it was new and still in the box. They insisted that I pay the original price of $80.00 that was placed on the item in 2022. Instead of the $33.00 advertised reduced price that was clearly present and secured to the item, the price had been reduced because the item had not sold and had been there for a long time. I contacted their corporate office, reported them to the FTC (Fair trade commission) and filed a complaint with BBB. This is false advertisement, bait and switch, and deceptive trade practices and illegal in Texas. I RECORD EVERYTHING. I am also leaving reviews about their practices. I've been doing business with Action Pawn for many years, it's been hit or miss with service and value depending in the management and staff. However, out of the past fifteen years of using them, I have never been treated so poorly by anyone. Both the female staff and the male assistant manager were disrespectful and rude. They weren't direct about it either, very passive aggressive by stonewalling and gaslighting. I asked to speak to the head manager and the girl walked outside while the assistant manager sat right in front of me and just ignored me. For about 5 minutes, I asked this manager several questions, he wouldn't even look at me, just pure silence as if I didn't even exist. I was beyond livid and was refused access to the head manager. I was told that this was the head managers choice, to not speak to me, as the girl came back in and said she had called her. The current staff and management is some of the worst I've ever dealt with of any business and to me, customer service is priority. I'm taking my business else where. read more

I literally felt like I was being raped by his offer on my items that I was trying to pawn, now I've worked in the business before so I'm aware you buy low and sell high to make a profit however, he offered me next to nothing for my items even though they were worth over 600 dollars, so Cody I would implore you to have a talk with him. So with that said on to the great things, Sherri and Randy are some of the best employees I have ever personally come across, they make you really feel heard and they do their best to find you the right product for you. So overall you have some great apples and one pretty rotten apple, if it was me I'd just cut the bad fruit from the tree before it loses you some good employees and gains you some more rotten ones. read more

Ok so after breakfast my boss took us here. He was stationed here in 1996 and said this spot was one of the best pawn shops to buy any and everything. We walked in and it was kind of like a walmart. Some of the items look like new and you could get at walmart. They had a few good deals but we spent 1hr in here looking around. What caught my attention was that they advertised on their sign in the parking lot they had 2 AR-15 in stock and .223/5.56 ammo in stock well why not right. So we found their ammo and I understood why they had the ammo in stock the price was redic. I mean for what they were asking it averaged out to about $1.08 a round. I went to walmart the night before and the ammo was 3times less. So i look at their gun selection and they have a lot of really good handguns and rifles. I looked at their gun parts and other items for sell. But going thru all the items I notice a lot or miss labeled. Parts for a Ruger 10/22 is labeled for a Mini 30. Some parts are incomplete so yah little mess. Employees were really helpful and greeted us and helped us on the spot. But wasn't really empressed at all. read more

HUGE guitar selection!! Bought a guitar here for a good price but most of them are just below retail. They let you play the guitars and amps and generally don't bother you while you are in their little enclosed showroom which is nice. Everything else is about the same as well. Just below retail. Nothing screams out "buy me!" They have a decent selection of tools and bins of loose sockets which is always nice. Even found a few snap-on sockets for under a dollar a piece. Not a single damn person working there seems to want to be there. As soon as you walk in, you feel completely unwelcome. Dirty looks, and a "good luck" under their breath. Come on. It takes a lot for a person to be willing to go into a place and ask to sell their belongings. This didn't happen to us, but while I shopping I could see a couple uneasy about going in to sell their things, and to make it worse, the people evaluating this giant mixer were less than thrilled to be doing their jobs. One employee actually told them "good luck" when they walked in with their electronic item. The woman, seemingly shocked, questioned the gentleman stating "did you just say good luck?" We won't be shopping with action pawn going forward. We will be taking our business elsewhere. read more

So I read the reviews and for some reason I still walked into the doors. I ran by just before they closed and found something that I liked. I was not going to buy it without doing a little research. 3 Year old item for $400. I returned the next day and found that the item was missing its charger and that the battery was dead. Hard to pay $400 for something that may work. I departed and search for a replacement charger. Chargers are $50. I searched the internet and found that a website was selling used for $380 (Had everything). I returned to the store and asked if they would lower the price. Some guy walked up to the girl I was talking to and had a little side meeting. He said he would lower the price by $50 because of the charger but he would not lower based on the site because I would have to pay shipping plus the $380. At that point I lost it. They want to sell me something that is $400 that they are missing parts and they can not power it on to test if it works. I've waited a few years and I will continue to wait. So funny thing is the new model comes out in about 6 months and if you look at how each previous model depreciates the item I was looking at will drop again and hold a value of about $250. Then about a year after that it will be $225. Then soon it will only be $175. I asked about returns because I read reviews and the only thing they would really tell me was that it was 15% restock fee and maybe if the item did not work they would waive the fee. I hope you enjoy your depreciating item. In 6 months you will lose $150 and $25 every year after. Looking at some of the items that are 10 years old and overpriced I hope people do their research and don't buy your overpriced items so they sit and your money is tied up in items that you will not move. read more

You get your paycheck and then you see you are getting paid less an hour than what you were told. When you talk to the person who gave you the job to fix your pay he will say, "oh I don't remember telling you that you were getting paid this much an hour". Like your the person who does the hiring, you should know what you and the other person agree on how much you are getting paid.
