I called Action One for a quote on replacing a water pressure regulator and some associated parts. The plumber arrived and I showed him the situation, which was a slow leak from a pipe located outside by the regulator. He turned off the water and said that these parts needed to be replaced. I asked him for a quote and off the top of his head he said $1600, but he would give us a $100 discount if we did it that day. About an hour later I tried to use a sink and there was no water... that's because he left our water off. I turned it back on. I called another plumber and got a quote for around half of what Action One quoted. read more

I recently called Action 1 plumbing to come in and replace a part for my water heater that was under warranty. They told me over the phone that the part was under warranty and that they would send someone to replace the part for me ASAP. They did come very fast however when they finished changing the part they asked me for payment of over $300.00. I paid them and immediately contacted the water heater company to find out why it cost me when it was under warranty. I was told by the company that the part was under warranty and that they should not have charged me at all since they get reimbursed by the manufacturer of the water heater for both parts and labor. This company scams you by claiming that they will take care of you right away and that there will be no charge and then charge you after the work is completed. If there is a charge they should let you know in advance instead of claiming it is a warranty replacement that they do for free. I highly recommend not using this company. read more

Jim came out to fix my kitchen faucet. Jim was very pleasant and did a great job. However, once he called the office to get the quote all went south. Essentially for a unit that could have been replaced for $230 Action One charged me $225 to repair! Jim told me that they have a one year warranty on their work. Well, 10 months later the faucet started leaking again. So I called them. They told me they do not give one year warranties on their work and will fix my faucet for another $150. Or they can replace it for $600. Remember the unit costs $230 wholesale. They over charge!!!! Watch out!!! They do not guarantee their work!!!! read more

I had a bathroom sink clogged. Plumber was good but he charged me $300 to fix it. He charged me $125 to diagnose the problem. What diagnosis? The sink was clogged with icky material. Then $80 an hour for labor. It took him an hour. He did replace a knob but i looked up the price online - it was $7. I've had clogged sinks before and never paid that much. Find out how much they plan on charging you just for the diagnosis visit ahead of time. Don't believe it if Nick the plumber tells you it is broken and can't fix it. He can, he just wants to charge you as much as he can. I know this as fact because my cousin stopped by and with an octagonal wrench, did a few twist under the disposal while pushing a red release button, and removed a tiny tea spoon that was jammed. It took him 5 mins. It has been a few months and the disposal works great! Nick only fiddled with the disposal and spent most of the time claiming it was unfixable and the only option was to replace the entire thing for a ridiculous amount. Why would I want to replace my disposal that your company installed a year and two months prior, with the same brand of disposal? B.S. Very long story, but I would never recommend or use them. Find someone else that does not charge $135 for doing absolutely nothing, other than try to take advantage of their customers because they figure we do not know any better. read more

The owner is a little rough around the edges. However, he does get the job done. When I gave action one plumbing a call, I asked the how much is was going to be to get my sink fixed. They gave me a quote, but I followed up by asking, "Does this included parts and labour?" Like the type of person I am I negotiated with him and said I will write out a check today with the exact amount we agreed on. That way there will be no surprises. I have read the bad reviews, however Steve the owner is just a guy who seem to me is straight to the point. Recently Action One Plumbing has been handing out evaluation sheets. Or at least Steve the owner is. If there is nothing I like or was satisfied with he really would like to know. I have him a good rating. I know I am not a plumber, yet I called Action One because it was a recommended by local people around Burbank. I was actually warned that Steven the owner was too direct and he just want to get to the point. When I called it was was closed to 3:00am. My sink broken and had a weird smell coming out. I did call and Steve did pick up. Told him my situation and came right over. I negotiated with him and got a fair price. While he was working on my sink, he did not want to be disturbed. (Just letting you know what kind of person he is). Later he told me how I can prevent another damage. I am guessing Steve take his job serious. I can put up with his personality, as long as he can get the job done. He did. I gave him a good review because his service was great. To me that is what matters, not how he wouldn't talk to you while he was working. It's bad enough that he came early in the morning to help me out. I too wasn't feeling that talkative. read more

Called on a Sunday to set up an appointment later in the week,and was told they were free the same day. They were over within an hour or so, completed the work in about 2 hours, including a run to the hardware store for the parts that were needed. Did a very nice job and even consulted me on the install and changed something that I wasn't crazy about. I would highly recommend these guys and I would use them again. This crew has been horrible. They have been doing overnight work for WEEKS on end at the business next door. The do not have the proper permits and have been completely violating the noise ordinances in Burbank. Multiple families in our building have confronted this crew to implore them to be more sensitive to how much noise they create every night at ALL HOURS, but the only response we have all gotten is an extremely rude, sarcastic, aggressive one from the lead guy of "oops! too bad for you". We have gone down to reiterate the concerns that our neighbors have already addressed with them multiple times prior. At this point, we have had to return at 2am, 3am, 4am and 5am over the last several weeks. We have also asked to see their work permits and asked if it was an emergency as that is the only time overnight work is allowed, and the lead guy said they didnt have any permits, but he "will go get them tomorrow" and he confirmed it was absolutely not an emergency, it was purely cosmetic. Our response was "you cannot be doing this overnight work without permits and without it being an emergency" he told us we were "welcome to call the cops." Invasive general construction noises aside (jack hammering, sawing, shoveling, etc), the crew themselves are loud. Sadly, the lead guy is the worst of the group. He literally does not care about how loud he is outside. The noise he and this crew create is so bad that we have had to sleep in our living room to try and move farther away from it. The saddest part is, there was one really nice guy in the crew who completely understood our concerns and was very kind, but unfortunately he wasn't in charge and had to defer to his AWFUL derelict of a boss. This guy should have been leading the crew- he clearly was more intelligent, more articulate and far more experienced with this type of work and with basic human interaction than his boss. It's sad when there is an entire house being built behind your building with minimal noise or affect on your life, but a crew working on plumbing job next door can manage to completely ruin WEEKS of your sleep and work. This is NOT okay and NOT good business. You HAVE to be considerate of the fact that you are working in a NEIGHBORHOOD with families and people who have jobs to get to in the morning and LEGALLY, noise ordinances are in place for a reason--- To protect us from bad business practices. read more

Upon further inspection, instead of using new parts that were quoted because of the need to "get up to code", the worker had reused some of the old parts. His explaination, "These will work fine... if the guy that gave you the quote hadn't told you about the code you wouldn't have ever asked about it". I have been trying to get my water heater repaired under warranty for over 10 days from tis company. My family is still using cold water to shower. You draw your own conclusion. Hot water back on as of Friday the 10th. Parts were unavailable for another six weeks. They replaced the entire water heater. My condo building has been using them for years. I took over managing the repairs and I noticed we were being severely overcharged. A few months ago we were charged $1400 for a recirculating pump for the hot water heater. I just found out the pump itself was only $250. The rest was labor and they installed in in less than 2 hours. Recent plumber quote was $600. I had a clogged sink and I thought it had to do with the main line covered by the HOA. They came out and fixed the clogged sink for $450.They said that I had a leak under my sink, which they never showed me and they replaced my p-trap. I looked and its the same parts that were there originally. SCAM We had a leak in our recirculating line. The copper pipe was no good and had several leaks. I was quoted $3,500 for the repairs. I told them this was ridiculous and I was going to find another company to do the repairs. Once they heard I was going to call someone else they back peddled and said since they have been servicing our building for years they would do it for $1875 to keep our business. Amazed how quickly they went from $3500 to $1875.. This caused me to find another plumber only to find more short cuts they took when doing past repairs in our water lines and to our water heater. I can only begin to think of all the money they have made off our HOA over the years. Sad it took so long to catch on... Do not call these people. They are not honest people and will overcharge you for work that may or might not need to be done. Its no surprise to see all the other bad reviews online. read more

I had a backed up sink with standing water in it at 7:00 PM, placed a call with multiple plumbers for quotes and of those that answered, Action One was not the cheapest nor the most expensive, but provided the quickest response time. They quoted they would be able to get to my home in 1 hour, but Ruben H. got there in 30 minutes! Ruben quickly assessed the situation, grabbed his tools and got to work. He got the drain unclogged and tested his work and cleaned up the area in about 1 hour. I have since recommended Action One Plumbing to a coworker. Keep up the great work guys! read more

I cannot recommend these guys enough - I only wish there was more than 5 stars to give them! I had a "horror movie" type of plumbing issue at 6am on a Sunday morning. So bad I didn't even want to call anyone out - it was so horrible. STEVE showed up at 10am (just 2 hours after I called) didn't even flinch and had the job fixed and running within the hour. He was considerate about trampling through our house to check the other bathrooms which I really appreciated, was super helpful and knew exactly where all the problems were. $1,900 to use their War Hog device (compressed air and water) to remove a few spots where roots had creeped in through the pipe joints is too expensive in my opinion. Granted, there were a few wipees in the line (not many). I routinely (yearly) have the sewer line, from the trap in the back yard to the city line, cleaned out so there wasn't too much debris in the line. This was visually seen using their camera system. The pipe infrastructure was also intact and no obvious breaks in the line. The discussion of laying new pipe or sleeve material is the direction they lead you into from the onset of their analysis and this can be very costly. There is a cost of about $180 to use the camera to inspect the line and this might (?) be necessary to prove the condition of the pipe and to view any obstructions prior to work being done. Bottom Line: Get several estimates "before" you are at the mercy of a plugged drain. read more

After googling potential problems and doing everything from baking soda and vinegar, using my own plumbing snake, and plunger to no avail I had to call in the pros. Called earlier in the morning and Javier and Able came promptly. Had my plumbing issue fixed within twenty minutes. My drain works and any homeowner knows that nothing is more annoying than when something isn't working. They were professional and courteous. We've used Action One a few times over the last year or so at our business. We have had zero issues. When we have called, they have responded with quick and professional service. They have replaced some guts for two toilets, cleaned out the main line and recently replaced a sink. These are things that, when they went south, we couldn't afford to wait and have our clients be put out. Action One gets here quickly, listens and fixes the issue. When replacing our sink, they even went the extra mile to try and clean up stains that we caused. Their price and rates are reasonable. The only issue that I have was that when they came out to replace the sink, we didn't get an estimate as to what the replacement item would cost. Of course, I didn't ask either. We will continue using Action One in the future. read more
