I took my SUV in today because my low tire pressure light came on and I found what looked like a nail in my tire. The guys took my vehicle right in, assessed it quickly and found the nail hadn't gone through the tire all the way. They filled all my tires up and sent me on my way with no charge! We've used this location in the past couple of years and have always been so pleased with the level of service and professionalism. There have been times in the past where I've refused to go back to different car service locations because the staff has been so condescending to me as a woman coming into a car care place. I have never felt that way at this Mavis location and trust they wouldn't take advantage of me. That's an important thing for a woman having to deal with a male dominated industry. This was my first time using Action Gator Tire and I have to say it lived up to the good reviews. It's definitely a mechanics place. And by that I mean there's a little conversation as possible from the staff.‍ I had a damaged tire and they replaced it for what they said they would. They replaced it in the amount of time they said they would. That's important to me and I greatly appreciate that. I'll probably be back to get my oil changed because the place I go now always ups sells me like crazy. I have to say that this place did not try to upsell me at all. I stopped in for a tire patch or plug @ tire kingdom in Longwood. After waiting two hours, they came back with it can't be patched because the screw went in at an angle and by the way you need new tires. I knew better. Asked for my keys and went to Mavis in Oviedo which had me taken care of in a half hour. Tire Kingdom let me leave with hardly any pressure in my tire. Luckily I was able to get air at a local gas station and continue my trip to Oviedo. I'm a longtime customer of this shop and will continue to be. No BS here. Thank you Mavis in Oviedo! read more

I have had nothing but good experiences with the team at Action Gator. From oil changes, tire replacements, and recently a new a/c compressor, every single visit has been great. Pricing is the best in the area, and service is quick and done right. The staff here goes the extra mile to take care of their customers, and not once have we been quoted a list of "needed" repairs outside of what we came for. Recently we got a diagnostic check locally and found out the compressor was bad, and told it would be $1300. Action Gator was just over $700 out the door!! The quote also claimed we needed 2 new tires, which weren't even attempted as an add on to service. I will continue offering all of my auto service needs to Action Gator and the 20 minute drive is well worth it! read more

I have been taking my car here for a few years, and I have never been disappointed. The quality of work done by the mechanics here are as good or better than the dealership. Last week I brought my 2012 Honda Civic in for an oil change, tire rotation, front brakes replaced and rear brakes flushed. I had, a warped hubcap and the mechanic straighten it out without being asked to do this. Also, I was given several discounts for my services, which was a nice surprise.The gentleman who work at Action Gator are very professional and friendly and well trained. This place is a joke. I had a coupon and somehow my cost ended up an extra 20+ dollars for random fees and oil. I knew I would have to pay for extra oil but random shop supplies fees and other fees are ridiculous. I wouldn't have been upset if they would have told me in the beginning but they didn't. I tried to speak with the manger and he was just like, "Oh, yea, sorry." It's poor business to treat people like that. I took my vehicle (2018 Toyota Highlander) in on 11/18/22 because I was hearing a terrible squeaking noise. Hoping it wasn't the shocks I took my car to this shop as I have always had an excellent experience with them in the past. I dropped my car off early afternoon (4 hours prior to closing) and they called me an hour before closing to inform me that they thought it was the shocks on the car that were causing that noise but were surprised as the vehicle had only a little over 30k miles. I gave them the go ahead to replace. They called 20 min before closing to advise my vehicle was done. I went and grabbed my car and as I was leaving the car made the exact same noise as I did when I brought it in which told me that they hadn't even taken the time to test the car after the replacement. I couldn't leave my car with them overnight as I had family coming into town I needed to pick up for the holidays. Needless to say I hadn't been able to take my car in to leave with them to rectify the situation (work,kids,holidays - basically what most of us have going on where we can't afford to be without a car at this time of year for a an entire day). Fortunately additional family just came into town and my brother in law (mechanic) found that the issue had nothing to with the $500 worth of shocks/labor but was just my spare tire rubbing on the casing under my car. He tightened it and the noise was gone. I called Action Gator to advise them of what occurred. Had a brief hope after speaking to customer service that a full refund due to their misstep may be headed my way but that was dashed quickly when the manager called and feed me a BS line that the mechanic had notes that it was the shocks. I know, and I know that they do as well, that was not the case. I thought I had finally found an honest place of business and am so disheartened that this was the outcome. I truly was hoping that they would want to rectify the situation and offer a full refund (I know - pretty funny) to keep their reputation in tact and a valued customer whole but obviously that is not what is important. I will not be going back here and will stop referring my friends to this place that I have always spoke so highly of and referred many people to. read more

This was a while ago but I had forgotten to leave a review. I needed new tires (desperately) but my budget was a little tight. Their front desk person went through and prepared a list for me, highlighting the cheapest, medium rate, and most expensive option, allowing me to pick which one was in my budget. No upselling and no guilt trips which was utterly refreshing. They also helped me get set up with a third party service where I had 3 months at no interest to pay for the tires. So helpful! I took my car in for regular service and diagnostic for a squealing belt. I was told the valve cover gasket was bad and needed to be replaced along with the spark plugs, serpentine belt and tensioner. I had all the recommended work completed and when I brought my car home, it smelled bad of burnt "something" and it was still squealing. I immediately called and was told they didn't know why it was still squealing (but didn't advise me when I paid for the completed work) and that the burnt smell was spilled oil and to give it a few days. I brought the car back a week later, was told they couldn't determine what was wrong. The burning smell continues and has intensified. The squealing remains. My tires were also way over-inflated. (Don't they specialize in tires?) My garage floor has leaked oil. I took the car back again today and was told they wont be able to look at it again for days. I've had to cancel several meetings (as I drive for work and no rentals are available in the area). I am out $1k, my job is at risk and my car is in worse shape than when I brought it in the first time. I now have to bring the car to another shop to determine what is now wrong with my car and consult with an attorney to recoup the costs incurred. read more

I had these guys put new tires on my car. I had Porsche caps that I had taken from my other car. They kept them and put on ugly green caps. I went back to ask if the could check the alignment and I mentioned something about the caps, but he gave a standard response and I didn't get them back. They checked the car and I left. Fast forward to today. I had a flat tire on 417. I went to put on a spare and I COULD NOT GET THE LUG NUTS OFF. They should have been torqued to 85-90 max. I needed a breaker bar to bust them off. It took me an hour just to remove the tire. I ended up stripping one nut and ruining my wrench. Watch your stuff if you go there...and obviously don't confront them about anything. read more

I was referred to this place by a friend who said I would get a good price and quick service and they were right. I dropped off my car in the morning to get a new tire. My tire was not in stock but they were able to get one and call me within a few hours to tell me it was done. This is a good tire shop and those are hard to come by. I have never felt that they upsold me on work. Came in a couple weeks ago for an alignment since the car was pulling to the left. Got to the shop and asked for the alignment. They brought the car to the back and before they even checked the alignment, they noticed the tires were quite worn. I remember getting a tire balance a year earlier, the shop told me the tires would have to be replaced in the near future. I asked how much the tires were and he gave me a quote but said they only had 2 of those tires in. I figured that I would replace all 4 of them since I was there and work was busy, I sometimes had to work weekends, too. He said they could go with a slightly larger tire which was $7 more but he would match the price to what the original tire price was. 4 new tires and an alignment later, the car drives much differently. Handles great, stays straight and has a massive reduction in road noise from worn tires. read more

We have been coming here for 20 something years, always taken care of! Purchased new rotors with lifetime warranty. Came back to address a braking issue, they replaced everything no problems at all! The staff mechanics knows what they're doing, unlike some other kingly businesses in the area! My boyfriend dropped my car off for my appt and they told him it would be $19 total as well... then after the service is complete they charged me $29 and told my boyfriend that the $19 didn't include the "disposal and supplies fees". They said theyd call me while i went to get somethibg to eat to let me know what it needed and how nuch it would cost. Fast forward 1 hr, they hadn't even moved it from where I parked it.
