Within the last few months we have noticed several of my child's rbt team left abc as well as the amazing BCBA we had. We were told by the new BCBA that they had tons of experience and was well knowledgeable. I was extremely disappointed to find out that that was not true. The new BCBA would frequently share information about another client and say it was my child. We had decided to switch to in home services and company that would work with one of our other children as well. We gave our notice and immediately the front office wanted to schedule a meeting to try and talk us out if leaving. I went in to sign discharge paperwork and receive our records. While I was waiting I was able to hear one of the front office people and our new bcba talking about a family and it was not a pleasant conversation. The office person said that they were going to have the clients last day be Monday. While I was signing paperwork. I was asked to go into the office of the person that was talking badly about a family and she notified me that they were moving my child's last day up. It was then I realized that the things I over heard was about my kid and my family. The front office person tried to blame the RBTs for the horrible things that were said when in reality they came directly from the front office person. It was extremely heartbreaking to know that they gave my child 1 day to say good by to his friends and the rbts he loved and adored. They literally pushed my child out of the clinic. The office staff care more about money than they do the children and families and that definitely showed with us. We were promised a smooth transition from in clinic serves to at home with a different company and they definitely did noy live up to their promises. A half a year ago I would have completely recommended ABC to any family looking for ABA services. Now I will absolutely not. I encourage anyone considering ABC to think twice. There are much better companies that actually value their clients and families.

The owner, Rebecca Ryan, is sharp woman who is incredibly knowledgeable about Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) and is a great parent resource! Family time is extraordinarily important to us since all our family lives outside of Austin, but that caused us to miss out of school for weeks. Sandbox ABA worked with us to make sure our child didn't have extreme behavioral regressions (through parent support programs). I highly recommend you keep consistent with the school schedule. The more consistent you are, the better the results. Your efforts with Sandbox WILL make a difference! Sandbox also hires HIGH QUALITY therapists! They are personable and respectful! And if you have any issues, they don't ignore or dismiss your concerns. Sandbox doesn't just work with the child -- they have tailored programs to support (and encourage!) parents. I can't express my gratitude enough to this behavioral therapy school. Thank you for saving my sanity!! Thank you for helping me understand HOW to set my child up for success!!

Title: Extremely Disappointing Experience After Four Years of ABA Services…read more My daughter, who is autistic, had been receiving ABA services at Sandbox ABA since September 2022. After nearly four years with this clinic, our family was deeply disappointed by how her services were brought to an end. We received an email informing us that Sandbox ABA primarily serves preschool-aged children and that our 10-year-old daughter would need to transition to another program, with September 25, 2026, identified as her final day. What troubled us most was not simply the decision itself, but how it was communicated and handled. The clinic stated that the transition process had begun in June and referenced an earlier proposed discharge date of August 28. However, we had not received the communication or participated in the transition planning described in that email. As parents, we were left questioning how such an important decision regarding our daughter's care could have progressed without our knowledge or meaningful involvement. After almost four years of trusting this organization with our child, we expected greater transparency, better communication, and a more thoughtful approach to transitioning her care. We ultimately lost confidence in Sandbox ABA and decided not to return our daughter to the clinic. I want to emphasize that our disappointment is not about expecting a clinic to provide services indefinitely. We understand that programs have limitations and that a child's needs may change over time. Our concern is about the responsibility to communicate clearly, involve parents, and handle transitions with the care and professionalism that families deserve. Families of children with autism place an enormous amount of trust in the professionals responsible for their children's care. That trust should never be taken for granted. After nearly four years, this was an extremely disappointing way for our relationship with Sandbox ABA to end.
