I purchased a 2008 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon in October of 2022. I live in NC and purchased the vehicle from Action Auto based in Utah. I was sent reports detailing the car was in perfect working condition both mechanically and physically. When I received the vehicle the Automatic winch, fog lights, and several other aftermarket items were not functional. When I initially called to see if they would rectify this I was told that Utah is a buyer beware state and there is nothing they could do. If this were the only issue I would not be writing my first review in my 45 years but this transaction became an absolute nightmare. I did not like the jeep from the moment it was delivered and I asked if they would purchase back the car which of course came with a no. I then attempted to sell the car on my own, I finally found a buyer for $23,500 and went to the NC DMV to get the car titled in my name so I can retitle to the new owner. I spent 4 days and countless hours at the DMV and the message was the same each time, Action Auto did not have the chain of title correct and the vehicle should have never been sold without proper titling. I spoke to Jason, the owner of Action Auto who swore he did everything right on his end and it must be something with NC DMV laws. I let him know that if he did not know the Titling Laws of the states he is selling to he probably should not be selling to those states. I asked him to please purchase the vehicle back from me as I can not legally get it titled in my name which would enable me to see it. He offered my 18k due to "depreciation" during the 8 months I had the car even though there was not 1 additional mile put on the car since delivery. Jason wound up having me send back the Title, Titling it in Action Autos name and then Titling in my name. This process took 8 weeks during which time I lost my buyer. I asked Jason if he would cover the difference between the 23,500k I had a contract with and what I wound up selling for which of course came with a no. this has cost me an unbelievable amount of time and money due to the dishonesty and incompetency of Action Auto. I feel stupid for buying a car from them, don't make the same mistake I did! Sold us a car that wasn't in good condition even though the carketa and car fax said it was. Had to take it in twice before we even put the plates on. Generally rude people, they don't treat customers well while they're there, unprofessional attitude. Said the tire pressure was a little low but they'd fix it, they didn't do anything and turns out it was actually high not low. They also add BS charges to the price. THIS IS THE SHADIEST, SKETCHIEST, AUTO SALES COMPANY EVER. Do not waste your time or money here. I got completely ripped off. Im a 21 year old girl and I don't know much about cars, but my cat had gotten totaled so I needed a new one as soon as possible. I went to Action Auto and found a jeep Cherokee sport, 2016, which I thought was an OK car. I test drove it and everything seemed fine except for a few little things that needed to be fixed. They told me that they would fix it as soon as possible and I decided to get the car. They were very pushy in me getting the car right away, and so without much thinking I just decided to go for it. I was there alone, A young girl, and they took advantage of it by completely ripping me off. They pushed for their warranty like crazy, a "full coverage "warranty. I paid lots of money for this warranty and it can be used for nothing. They sold me this car with no spare tire, no lug nut key, BALD AND HORRIBLE LUG NUTS, completely bald and cheap tires, lights out, and lots of things wrong. It's like they put a Band-Aid on it and thought that I wouldn't be able to tell. I was naïve and bought it right away and when I messaged them back asking them to fix a couple of things, they never reached back out to me and completely ghosted me. They WAY over charged me for this car, which is the most standard base model, and they charged me for what I would consider a specialty model of what my car would be. The worst part is they were fine to do it, knowing that I didn't know any better and they were ripping me off. A bunch of frauds and liars. I am now stuck with a car I don't love, paying off a large debt that I shouldn't have gotten, and out a TON of money. I came to the dealship after looking at the inventory on line. I called the dealer and asked how much the licenses and sales tax on the car. He said $17500. My husband and I traveled 250 miles to see the car. They brought the car to us. We test drove it for half an hour. Nothing was wrong with our car when we test drove. We asked him if there was anything wrong with the car. They answered no. We bought the car. Payed cash. When it came to financing the car. It was not $17500 as I was told. I ended being $18500. Later I noticed we had to pay $597 for having the car on the lot and for the financing guy to fill out the short paper work another $597. To make the shory short we drove the car 300 miles. On the way home. I was in the middle of the canyon. When a truck drove by me and told me it look my back tire was wobbling. I pulled over and my husband says the rim was bent. We called Auto Auction. They told us to find a Hyundai mechanic to see if they had a rim. They were not willing to.help us out. My husband and I called mechanics all over the state to look at the 2021 car hyundai We were told the 28th of August and then the 20th of August. My husband asked if the warranty would be cover even we just bought the car. Finally we made an appointment with the dealship I called Auto AUCTION and they have been avoiding my phone calls. We tried a couple days and here again be avoided. It will cost my husband $250 so far. If you're looking for a dealership that's easygoing and works like a well oiled machine, Action Auto's the place to go. They're definitely busy but their salespeople are on top of it. They don't hover at all and they don't keep you waiting but if you want something more personal then your best bet is to come earlier in the day. We didn't feel hustled or pressured here but from the looks of all the people pouring in to buy a car, they didn't need to. The only con I can think of is that they didn't have the car that was right for us, but definitely a great place to stop by if you're in the market for a great used car. read more

I got a car from them and there were some things that needed to be fixed. They promised their mechanic would fix the problems. The car makes a terrible screeching noise and they said it was just the belts. So they said they'd replaced those but they lied they just greased them up or something to cover it up. I took the car to a mechanic and ended up paying him $2100 to fix the fan and a part for the radiator and other things that were broken. They tried to hide all of the bad things with the car and are very shady people. Also they are terrible at communicating and I had to reach out to them for two weeks trying to figure out when the car would be ready and no one could give me an answer. Orem location: Very disappointed with the car my daughter purchased. She took it through a car wash after purchased a week or so later and the paint on the left side doors began peeling off. Daughter reached out to Action Auto and got the run around. $1300 dollars later she went to a respectable collision repair shop. She had the doors repainted. Settle in....this is a long review. But I want to make sure that others don't make the same mistake I made by purchasing a car from Action Auto. This is my Action Auto horror story..... our family was in need of a new car and I saw a listing online for a 2016 Honda Odyssey for sale at Action Auto. We contacted them and started working with Jorge, who was a great salesperson to work with. While our experience working with Action Auto started out pleasant, it went downhill fast. To start off, Action Auto's financial contact, Matt, was quite pushy when trying to sell us on buying an extended warranty, persisting even after we politely declined several times. Immediately after driving our car off the lot we started experiencing problems with the car. Trying to work with Action Auto to get these issues resolved has been a complete nightmare. Just 3 days after purchasing our car I contacted Jorge and expressed concern over the issues we were having with the car. He told me that Action Auto's mechanic would be in contact with me shortly to help get the issues resolved. I never heard from the mechanic, even after multiple text messages and phone calls to Jorge. Finally, I got so fed up of waiting for the mechanic to call me that I asked Jorge to just give me the mechanic's number so I could contact him directly. After finally getting in touch with Action Auto's mechanic, I explained the issues we were having (car shaking when braking, problems with the power doors, problems with the driver side window). Over two weeks after we first brought this issue to Action Auto's attention we were finally able to get their mechanic to inspect the car. He told us that the car's rotors were warped and needed to be replaced. This begs the question, why was this car sold to us with warped rotors? Upon asking this question to Action Auto I was told that the rotors were not included in their "200 point inspection", so they were not checked previous to us purchasing the car. Action Auto told us that we would responsible for fixing the damaged rotors. This was incredibly frustrating to hear after just paying $26,000 for a car! The worst part of this whole experience was working with Matt from Action Auto to try and get this issue resolved. He was extremely rude and condescending on the phone. He kept telling me that he was "trying to help me" but because I had not purchased the extended warranty they wouldn't be paying to fix the broken car they sold us. So we ended up paying for the rotors because we just wanted to be done with it. But our Action Auto nightmare wasn't over..... After getting new rotors we immediately noticed the car was still shaking when braking. We took the car back in and had it looked at again. This time we were told that the car needed new calipers. We were once again told we would be responsible for paying to get this part fixed. Why were the broken calipers not noticed when the rotors were inspected and replaced? Why was the car sold to us with so many mechanical issues? Why would Action Auto not own up to this and pay for these repairs? As of today, our van has been in their shop for the last six days. We still do not have our car. I have tried calling two different mechanics three times today and I still have no response and no idea when we will be getting our car back. When first researching Action Auto, we noticed they had great reviews and were really happy to buy a car from them, but that is so longer the case. I suspect Action Auto pays people for good reviews. They did offer me a full tank of gas in exchange for a review. I feel like that borders on review incentivization, which I believe is unethical. We would never recommend Action Auto. We are hundreds out of pocket for repairs that should have been made before we bought the car. We would return the car if we could. We are disappointed that a company in my neighborhood conducts business this way. read more

I thought this dealership was solid. I was wrong. Buyer beware. Bought a car with 11,000 miles on it and as it was advertised- clear title. 2 months of owning it the paint started coming off the bumper. I contacted Action Auto and asked if I could trade the car in for another vehicle. They didn't bother returning my emails or calls. Another dealership informed me that the car had been in an accident and the value was HALF of what Action Auto sold it to me for. I did talk with someone briefly at Action Auto after finding out through Mark Miller Toyota about the value.. they KNEW it had been in an accident but said, they advertise a clear title only. I have a 800 credit score and you'd think they would help me get into another, more fitting vehicle, but they just don't care about their customers after they sell you a car. It's my fault for not getting a car report but with 11,000 miles- I didn't think to check. I've owned the car for 6 months now and every time I drive it, I'm discouraged. Tl;dr : Made me wait *-=4 hours=-* to get an offensive trade in offer. If you're buying outright, you can get a decent deal. If you have a trade, go elsewhere. Expect no more than NADA rough trade in value no matter what condition your vehicle is in. Full story: I called at 5:21pm and got Austin. (great guy, very nice) I told them I was coming down for a trade valuation. I get there about 30 minutes later. In 30 minutes time, no less than 5 separate parties came in to buy a vehicle. I was put at the very end of the queue, even though all I wanted was a trade valuation. I was ignored by the one finance guy and after about two hours I suggested that I wanted to leave and come back the next day, or they could text me to let me know what they could do on the trade. They said they were bringing another finance guy up from Orem and that I should wait. Another 30 minutes go by and the finance guy arrives. I waited no less than another 2 hours before I got to speak to anybody. (The first finance guy left for home while I was waiting.) When we finally sat down, I was offered rough to average (NADA) value on what is quite possibly one of the most mint examples of my car. Not one scratch, clean/perfect interior, low miles, and meticulous service records. I was lectured on how the trade offer was fair considering the car I was looking at was listed below retail. That part was true. If you're buying a car outright, you can probably find a decent deal. If you're trying to trade something in, they will lowball the HELL out of you under some pretense that because you're getting a good deal that you should also be willing to be to take a 24.5% hit on the value of your own car. My take is this... they operate about 10-15% below retail value as a marketing tactic to get people in the door but refuse to negotiate anywhere near the spectrum of what one would reasonably consider from a used car dealer. Pretty much a take-it-or-leave it policy. That's fine, I just wish they would have been straight with me before I waited around 4 hours. I left at 10:04pm feeling totally drained and having wasted the entire evening. Pretty horrible experience. read more

bought 2 cars from Orem location, both mistakes. They talk a good sale but the follow through is terrible. Would not buy a car from them again. 1 car has been a lemon from the beginning 2013 Ford Cmax. the car still keep dying randomly. Lucky to go a month without a problem. 2 car 2016 has been ok but the follow up was not good. In the sales process I wanted to make sure that sales tax (for out of state) regiistration, license, etc all included but turns out is wasn't. They said they could do the registration for Nevada, they didn't, kept waiting for the paperwork and didn't come, had to call three times. Ended up have to pay for an expired tag. read more

I wish I could put zero stars. The employees at the orem location do not present themselves professionally so my first impression was poor. Then it got worse. I found a car I liked at the lehi location, and the carfax was clean and everything seemed to be great. I the finance manager and I finally haggled to an agreed price because they were dying to make a sale of a car I suspect they knew was bad. I talked him down because I could fix some of the things needed. The car they sold me needed a new strut which was 50 dollars and I installed them myself, the next was new tires because the others were about to shred into pieces, 250 dollars and that's a good deal, then the windshield needs replacement, another 300 dollars. Well the real issue is that after I drove off the lot the a/c stopped working and they gave it the green light. Turns out the condenser had a hole, and the compressor leaks so bad it has to be replaced, the dealer bid 270 for the condenser, and 1470 for the compressor. For a grand total of 2340 dollars. A well by doing the work myself down to 1200 which is not the deal we cut. They wont exchange the car, they wont take responsibility even from immediately after the sale, and they have never returned my and I have to bother them. I 110% recommend, actually not reccomend, I beg you to find another dealer as this one will likely bring you nothing but headaches, stress, and bad deals. Go to a reliable dealer that will back their cars. read more

Worst dealership in Utah! Crooks! Whatever you do, DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE! We called to get our title and plates for the car for months after we bought it because they didn't have the courtesy to do so even though it was their fault. We didn't have the title OR PLATES for 8 months, and after getting advice from others, we we asked if we could return the car because we thought it was sketchy that they kept avoiding our phone calls and would never call us back about the title/plates. Of course they said no to returning the car. The girl in charge of sending plates never called me back to this day and only texted me a response which is super immature and unprofessional because she was obviously scared to talk to us about the missing title. Also, just a few months after purchasing the car, the car made a very loud and uncomfortable grinding sound, forcing us to have to replace the wheel bearings. One star is too high. These guys are quick talkers and definitely willing to do anything to make the sell, and take advantage of people who are less educated in car buying. They sure taught me a lot. For a premium price that they wouldn't go any lower on they sold me a car with only 1 valet key. Telling me they could have their guys create a new key for me. Which didn't happen. They also didn't tell me it was a valet key meaning not even the dealership could make a real key for a reasonable price. This was partly my bad because I drove so far to get the car I didn't want to drive again. I found a power steering leak. Non working seatbelts. And missing head rests. Which I thought would be easy enough to replace. Nope these things will add about 2k in repairs right off the bat. Again, my bad... I should have known. But I believe they did know! A week after I bought the car I took it to my mechanic to have it looked over so we wouldn't run into any problems when we went on a family vacation. They found another 2k in repairs that needed to happen. On our trip we learned that the gas gage is broken. Sigh... I haven't even checked into that repair cost yet. I knew to check the transmission fluid. Which i did and it looked great. Come to find out, too great. They put new transmission fluid in it to cover up the transmission issues it has. I would have been better off spending the extra money and buying a brand new car than buying this used car from them. These guys are not to be trusted. I really wanted to leave a good review, but this was just not a good experience. Bought a 2015 Ford Fusion Hybrid. Right when I pull off the block it's making a loud grinding sound. I take it right to my mechanic. Mechanic tells me the transmission is shot, despite them explicitly telling me the transmission was in excellent shape before I made the purchase. I took the car back the very next business day. I told them I thought the fair thing would be to trade it for a different car that actually worked. One of the employees even explicitly told me that he talked to his supervisor and that I can exchange the car. I leave work early, drive over there, test drive two cars, then get told that they aren't going to exchange the car, but will replace the transmission. (This was after many phone calls of them saying they will only replace it if I buy the extended warranty). I told them I want a different car and no longer feel comfortable with the car and they told me that I should just sell the car on my own then. (This was a car I literally purchased a few days prior, unbelievable). I reluctantly agree to the transmission replacement as long as they send me the info on the transmission they are putting in so that I have it for my records. They said they would send it over. I've now asked three times for the transmission information and they never sent it over. I finally got my car back after waiting over 5 weeks since I bought it. There was terrible communication the entire way. They say they will call you back, but never do. Never send over what they say. Had they just sent the transmission information over then I probably wouldn't have even left this review, but unsurprisingly they didn't follow through. read more

Buying a car from action auto sales in the single biggest mistake of my life. If you are thinking about buying a car from them, take $20,000 and flush it down the toilet instead...it will save you time and heartache, but the end result will be the same. I bought a car from them in June 2019. The VERY NEXT DAY the check engine light came on. It ended up needing the air intake manifold replaced. Luckily it was under warranty...huge pain because we live 2 hours away from anything. One week later it started squeaking. $300 later, it was fixed...can't remember what that one was. But the big kicker is this...yesterday (four months after buying the car) my. Engine. Seized...45,000 miles on it. Not only is it the worst car ever, the car-buying experience at Auction Auto sales was also the worst experience ever. They were rude and completely unhelpful. I recently purchased a 2016 Honda Civic from this dealer. My experience was good through the purchase process and I was pleased with their customer service and non-pressure environment. However, on my initial drive home the back right wheel area was making squealing sounds. This didn't happen during the test drive unfortunately. It continues to do this periodically but not constantly. My wife and I contacted their office 5 times between us trying to get it in to have them look at it. Every time we're told the mechanic will "call us back later today".. however, we have yet to receive a call back and it's been several weeks! The car that we bought should have never been sold without full disclosure of the repairs that were needed. When the mechanic had our car on the rack he would have been able to see some of the issues that were very visable to the eye. The radiator support was broken in 2 places and the radiator was barely supported. The radiator fan was broken, but we were told the high pitched squeel was from the belts and we were told they would replace those. They tightened the belts but did not replace them so they didn't make any noise when we picked up the car. Shortly after we returned home, the noise was ear piercing and we took the car to our mechanic. He told us we were lucky the radiator hadn't fallen out of the car and it was dangerous to drive with the support broken. The radiator, the fan, the belts and the support all had to be replaced. Also the oil pressure gauge wasn't working and we were told that they had replaced the oil pressure sensor, which they did, but did not use any teflon tape when they screwed it in so it was leaking oil and our mechanic fixed that. They fraudulently passed the car on an inspection when the blinkers were not working, the windshield wiper fluid was not working and we had to replace the pump. So far $2200 in repairs out of our pocket in less than two weeks of owning the car. This dealership has a mechanic that doesn't know what he is doing or is being told to bandaid any and all repairs just to get the cars out the door. Buyer beware when purchasing from this dealership. I asked a question about the entertainment system & was told "Go google it" & they laughed, this is after I spent 25k on a car which btw they wouldn't come down more then $200 on. I learned my lesson in a huge way! I spent over 4,000 on repairs & sold it at a loss. This place is a used car dealership. My recommendation for this place is to pass on this dealership. Should you choose to disregard any reviews, read everything David Morales puts in front of you, get in writing anything that is promised, and get an independent vehicle inspection. These guys will sell you a vehicle that won't pass State inspection requirements. Example: Discovered the car we chose didn't have a muffler. I phoned multiple businesses to see if the vehicle would pass the state inspection requirements. All of them said the car would not pass without a muffler. I phoned David Morales, and mentioned our discovery. He then explained to me the car not having a muffler isn't their problem, it would pass any inspection, and they have to make no repairs. It was a good thing I had my down payment to gain leverage on the matter. When arriving at the dealership to get in writing the repairs would be made and my request to see the inspection done on the car. An eleven month three week old inspection form was given and another explanation they didn't have to help. In the end, I received a muffler from this place. I agree I made a big mistake by not getting an independent inspection done. But it was never disclosed the vehicle wasn't street legal. One star is a bit high. Found a used car. Ok miles, fair price. Headlight brackets are busted, and fender panel won't stay locked in place. Car stank to high heaven. Only had one key. They promised they could have a new key made but I would have to pay for it. Would not fix any defects on the car, would not come down on price. Would not pay for a new key. Should have walked. But the price was decent enough I could live with it, and fix it as I go. I live out of state so left the car there to have keys made and get it detailed. When I called to ask if the car would be ready for pickup on the day I was to return was told that they had gotten it detailed at their other location, but I need to send them a picture of the key and the vin. so they can have the key made. I told them I didn't have the key, they did. She wanted to argue about who had the key. I asked how they got the car to their other location to get it detailed as there is only one key. She told me they drove it there. So I said if you drove it there, by using the only key for the car, what makes you think I have the key? I am also pretty sure that since the car is still in your possession, that you would have the vin. She said she would call me back. Never did. I started to think they lost the key, or I was getting scammed, so I called the credit union financed through and had them hold funds until the key could be found. (Always arrange your own financing so you have this option. Never allow a dealership to arrange financing just for this reason. The bank usually will not hold funds if you are not the initiator of the loan.) Next day I called and talked to a manager who told me it was all done. Detailed? Yes. Keys made? Yes. We left nevada, drove to utah to get the car. It was FILTHY! And it stank even worse than before. But since I had already released the funds (my bad). I was kinda screwed. Lesson learned. But it did have two keys, and yes they charged me for them. When I got it home i washed it. Looked like someone used a dirty rag and made swirl marks on the car. Maybe put some spit on a wash rag and swirled it around? The Windows were so dirty on the inside had to buy a roll of paper towels and some Windex to clean them to get it home. Anyway, when I got it home found some chips of new car smell air freshener under the back seat. I guess that is their version of detailing. Puke on the floor mats (they were in the trunk) and more puke in the trunk. I suspect the mat had puke on it when it was thrown in the trunk to dry. Under the mats and seats were many cigarette butts. Three hours of cleaning and twenty dollars later i finally got the smell out. I have bought many, many used cars. Never seen such poor service. Will never go back. Now I am afraid the car is a p.o.s. that I will be stuck with. In the corner of the window is a sticker that says this car was inspected. You are to go to the web site and enter the last 6 numbers of the vin. This will supposedly bring up the inspection information. It never worked. They supposedly paid the Nevada sales tax. I left a very positive review after I bought my car six weeks ago, but I have to amend the review now. A couple of days after I bought the car, the guy replacing the tires noticed a break in the front bumper. I took it back and Action had it three weeks without actually fixing the problem, then when I picked it up with the promise that they'd call me to tell me when the new bumper could be installed, I found another person's key chain and receipts in my glove compartment, so they apparently lent it out (after I paid cash for it) under the guise of waiting for the new bumper for three weeks. I called again yesterday--still no new bumper and they failed for the tenth time to call me back, even though they promise that every time. read more

We recently had to put a lot of money into a car, including re-building an engine, so when it was time to get a new one we were very nervous about getting the right one. We saw the exact car we were looking for at Action Auto Sales so we went to go see it. They were EXTREMELY helpful/knowledgeable/and easy to work with. They weren't pushy at any point through the process. Because of our experience with cars recently we wanted to take it to a shop to have it looked at to make sure there was no issues with it. Action Auto had no problem with that and let us take it on a several hour "test drive" to have it looked at. It came back that the alignment was off and because of that it needed new tires. When we told Action Auto this they said they would have the alignment fixed and were willing to put new tires on it for us. We also asked if they would do one other thing for us on it and they did without charging us the labor fees. Then when it came down to pricing it was a super easy process and was very transparent. To top off the whole experience they even topped off the tank for us before we left. Overall it was a great experience and I would highly recommend them to others. The two people we worked closely with there were Daniel and Matt. Both were great. read more
