If I could give this place a zero star rating I would. First, the parking lot was littered with gloves, food wrappers, and trash, I should have turned around because if you can't keep a clean lot, how can you keep clean cars? I dropped my car off the night before my appointment and provided the female employee my Groupon information. This process was easy. I signed a document that there was no damage to my car and was told I was not able to have a copy per company policy. I wanted documentation that there was no damage to my car and took a photo of the document with my cell phone. When I picked up my car I looked it over and was astonished, the car was not waxed and there were water spots all over from not being properly dried after they washed it. My windows were smeared from end to end, come to find out they use a wet microfiber cloth to clean the glass which just left residue across all windows. Well, except for the rear window which wasn't even touched. I pulled back the panoramic shade and would you believe, they didn't even touch that window either. I approached Ray, the owner about the shotty job, my dash board was still dusty and I was told it's because I have a weird dash and it couldn't be dusted properly. The wood paneling interior of my car was smeared, and my center console wasn't touched. Ray said they couldn't clean my console or cubbies because I had personal possessions in them. Keep in mind their paperwork, website, nor their employee said anything about removing those items or it wouldn't be cleaned. Industry standard is they put your items in a bag and leave it in the trunk. Please note, I did remove all other items from my trunk and car. I asked Ray if he was satisfied with the job he did and he became very aggressive. He immediately had an attitude and wanted to argue about everything. I showed him the dust still in the vents, the dirty windows, the dirty cup holders, the dust on my steering wheel column, the dirty door jambs and he just wanted to argue that he takes pride in his work, and operates a successful detail shop. I was no longer comfortable with the way Ray was speaking with me and decided I would just bite the bullet and take the loss. Recently had my 3rd detail completed by the team at ACTION DETAILING and I'm extremely pleased. I have had a few details with them over the years and I'm extremely happy. Personally it's important to me to support local family owned businesses and these guys deserve it. Their new location is a awesome upgrade from the last. Super clean and conveniently off Elgin-O'Hare expressway. The owner Ray is a accommodating and very cool guy. Came out to do a walk over to make sure I was pleased with the work. The following conversation went as follows: Me: Do you staff employees who handle detailing regularly? Woman: That's really none of your business. I've tried to call multiple times to make an appointment and tried to leave messages but the " voicemail box is full". I sent a Facebook message to them as well with no response. Lastly, my wife went over there a week and a half ago and left them my number and was told they would call me back within 24 hours. I haven't received a call. Posting for a friend... We took a vehicle to Action Auto on Wise Rd. for a detail after purchasing a gift voucher for my mom. Her weather tech floor mats were either stolen while at the shop or never placed back into the car. In our efforts to resolve this, we've been met with attitude and complete unprofessionalism. The woman who works there hung up on my husband- he was speaking respectfully and calmly. The owner refuses to contact us directly to address the issue. The mats are worth twice what we paid for the detail, but the worth of the stolen items is not my concern at this point. No business who blatantly disregards their customers and their customers' property in this way should exist. Action Auto Detailing, and the owner, should be ashamed of the way this was (wasn't) handled. I would absolutely never do business with a company like this again. If you choose to do so, beware. PS. I got a Living Social coupon and did the interior of my 2011 Acura MDX. It has never been detailed and badly needed with two kids that have been it for 5 years if you know what I mean! I try to keep it clear of extra stuff and garbage (dump every time I get gas is not more often) but I still had a jewel bag of throw out things from deep under seats. I wish now I would have taken before pictures. I have one kid that now stop has the feet on the front seat so as much as I cleaned it I couldn't get it looking very clean. I also got some kind of blue sticky stuff I couldn't get out in trunk. I think maybe putty. I made an appointment for Friday and they said it takes anywhere from 3 hours +. In my head I figured it would probably be done in mid am since took it in night before. I called at 3:30 and they said another 1.5 hours or close to 6. I picked it up at 6 and paid the $20 up charge for SUV and tip. He showed me the car and it looked great and smelled like new too. I was shocked how they got some of those stains out and I forgot what it's like sliding on new leather seats! The blue stain is slightly there but I really wasn't expecting anything on that one at all so very pleased with that. It really looks almost new. I like to support local businesses that do a great job. I think probably have to know going in may take all day and yes as some of the reviews said not be shy and walk to the garage to get them. A suggestion would be just put a sign in office to go there if no one is around. The guys were all pleasant and I felt like a respected customer. Got a Groupon for the Platinum detailing which was to include interior and exterior which cost my kids $149.. I called Action, left a voicemail and received a call back 3 days later, at which time I scheduled my appointment. I dropped the car off at 8:30am and received a call at 1 that the car was ready to be picked up. When I arrived my car was parked out front so I checked it out before going inside. The windows were smeared, the windshield still had spots of dried bugs on it. Both outside mirrors had water spots on them. I had a $20. bill in my pocket that I had planned on tipping them with-it stayed in my pocket. The only reason for 2 stars instead of 1 I is they didn't damage my car. I came here for my first auto detailing ever. I was very happy with the end result. My car was very clean, no area left untouched. I found them on Groupon but if you call them they will probably just honor the same deal, so you might as well book direct. They are a little hard to reach by phone. However if you leave a message they usually will call you back by the next day. If you live in the area, you could just stop by to book an appointment as well. The carpets and seats were shampood and vacummed. All surfaces were wiped down and all "gunk" was removed. For the exterior they apply a hand wax and shine your tires. The man in charge was very friendly and helpful. I dropped my car off by 9AM on a Saturday and it was done by 1PM (but they will quote a 3PM time and call you if it is done earlier). This was my first time having the interior of my car done. I was disappointed. I pointed out several places on my dash and back of seat that didn't look that great. He said they were just scratches. I went home and wiped the "scratches" off. Pictures included of how dirty the wipes were after I wiped the spots. I decided to wipe down some other places that didn't look exactly clean, same thing. My drivers side rug was not totally clean, again picture included. I complained that the upholstery still had spots, they said the only way to get them out was to come and get it detailed again. Please do not take your car here especially if you have a Groupon. They damaged the inside of my driver door. I took my car here because it was close to home. My pup got mud on my backseat and front seat. I had to call twice to schedule an appointment and calling to check status on my car was a pain. The shop closes at 6 and it was 530 and I never got a call that my car was ready. I just showed up. Since it was dark out, I couldn't see the work they did but using my phone flashlight I could see it wasn't a good job. There were scratches and knicks all over the car and I thought the clay bar, buff and wax would resolve or smooth it out. I was told my car would need to be repainted. Not to mention I clearly saw the mud marks as if they didn't shampoo the seats to begin with. When I brought it to the guys attention he said he'll take it back and redo it. He also asked me if I had a Groupon. RED FLAG they do a crappy job because you didn't pay the full $249. I requested my engine to be cleaned and they didn't do it. I paid $149 for them to half ass the detail and crack my door. I called and left a message, hopefully they get get back to me and make this right. As you can imagine I'm beyond upset that they damaged my car and didn't fulfill the detail. They claimed my car will look brand new and it's far from that. I'd like to update my review. I got a call back from the lady at the front desk, she said she checked the security camera and found no evidence of damaging my vehicle ( same speech she gives everyone who calls and complains) and it's impossible to damage the inside of a door. She offered a refund because I was not satisfied with the service but continued to deny they damaged my vehicle. then a few minutes later called back and said due to my review and on yelp they are no longer giving me a refund. He was also out there with a rag wiping down what I pointed out. You missed a sticky part on my front bumper. You hire lazy people to do hard labor work. I asked you on average how long does it take to do a detail and you refused to provide a time and gave an attitude because you know damn well it was less than hour on my car. My husband bought me a Groupon for here since my car is always a pit of dirt thank you to my two beautiful children. I'll start with the positive that my car looked great by the time they were done. I only had an interior detail, and it hasn't looked that good since the day I bought the car. So kudos to them for making my car look, and smell, like new! The owner was there when I picked up and he walked out with me to make sure that everything was in order. The fact that I no longer had sucker juice stuck to my seat was a definite plus. +1 Unfortunately, it was really really really difficult to get a hold of anyone at this place. I called several times over two weeks and left 2 messages and never received a call back. No one ever picked up the phone when I called, either. I finally contacted Groupon since it was getting so close to the expiration date. They contacted the shop and the owner contacted us via email. So again, I called the shop and left a message. I played phone tag with a girl that works there for a few hours and finally was able to make the appointment. When I dropped off, no one was working up front, which was surprising since there were several drop-offs listed for 9am in their book which was lying open on the counter. When I called later to check on my vehicle, again no one answered. I totally understand that the detailers and everyone in the shop is busy, but it shouldn't be this hard to make an appointment, or get in touch with someone. Just came in to pick up my car. It looks brand new! The attention to detail inside and out was impressive and Ray took really good care of me. I brought my truck here about a year or so ago but only did a wax job. This time I did the full detail and am very glad that I did. When you walk in the door and see that the place is a filthy mess your instincts will tell you to turn around and leave. Listen to your instincts. They not only failed to clean my car's interior, they damaged it - and totally denied it! When I pointed out the damage, they produced a check sheet (unsigned by me), that made note of a "nick the size of a pin." They dismissed this nick as no big deal, downplaying the size of it and completely disregarding the other damage. When I asked to speak to a manager, one finally showed up but would not give me his name. This was a Groupon gift from a friend. Auto detailing is for those who care about their car's appearance. How awful that this experience resulted in my car being in worse condition than when I brought it in - and with not quite enough damage to make an insurance claim. read more

I have never brought my Dodge Charger anywhere for a wash in the 5 years that I've owned it. A recent back operation has left me temporarily unable to wash my car and it's not going through a car wash and I HATE A DIRTY CAR! I was very pleased with the quick service, I think I was there no longer than 25 minutes and was pleased with how the car looked. Never come here, I got my interior detailed and they missed so much stuff, I was sitting there for half hour just showing the guy everything he missed. Looks like they just vacuumed and bearly wiped some stuff down. There were so many things that I pointed out and asked the guy if he cleaned this and he always said yeah it won't come off....3 seconds later I scratched it off with no effort and he did the same when I showed him.....no shame... Now the owner is going to comment below saying that they took a picture of me with the car and I was happy...... Wrong! For anyone skeptical when purchasing a Groupon.....this is NOT one to be concerned about. From the second I called, I was greeted by Kelly who had immediate availability to offer me. She was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I was actually traveling out of town the week I scheduled my pet friendly car to be detailed. My husband (who is not easy to please) dropped off the car for me. He asked them what they recommended further to get some of the scratches out of the paint on the exterior. They didn't take the time to wash my windows well. You could see the spots on the window that my dog licked!? It was all smudged around the edges, my mats that I put in the trunk weren't even touched. They put the plastic ones in there and they were still damp/wet after a 11am drop off and 5pm pick up so the clean wet mats were with the dirty ones creating a watery mud/sandy like mixture in my trunk. I had spots on my chairs that weren't completely removed and I could tell they didn't care to try the small ones. The outside looked like I went through a regular car wash, there was still residue around the bottom and edges. To top it off, I just saw my rim destroyed from when they clean the inside of my tires... . I want my money back. Based on reviews I read online I was not expecting much from this business, but I bought a Groupon a while back so wanted to give them a try. I'm honestly impressed with the job they did. I have two toddlers who made a mess with food in the backseat, loads of bugs from an entire year of driving back and forth from Iowa, AND I still had salt everywhere on the driver's floor from last year. Everything is amazingly clean now! Oh, and I'm a smoker. The detail I received was rushed and the result was extremely disappointing. My car had areas that had not been cleaned at all, which included the windows, center console and my trunk. They cleaned my mats and placed them in my trunk soaking wet! If I hadn't asked where my mates were, they would've stayed in there and mildewed. The business also never answers their phone and their voicemail is full, so you can't even leave a message. When I was finally able to get ahold of them to book an appointment, they told me to bring the car in to be serviced on Memorial Day. I thought it was nice that they were open that day, but I was wrong. I called them the night before to make sure we were all set to go and they informed me that they were closed the day I was supposed to come in! What if I hadn't called? Where was the disconnect? Why had they scheduled me for a day they were closed? SO FRUSTRATING! I was asked to reschedule and they never even apologized for THEIR mistake. Stay away from this place. I had a groupon and used it for an interior detail. The car I suppose had the carpet washed because there was a wet chemical smell in the car. I had to air it out for days and still smell it a bit. The carpet had to be vaccumed again and stains did not come out with their wash. The hatchback trunk was untouched. Is that not the interior? The customer service is very unprofessional. They forgot to take my keys to the car and called around 130pm looking for them to pull the car in the garage. Mind you they needed the car dropped off at 9am. When we came to pick up the car there was a customer in front of us waiting and she stated she has been waiting there for a while. Stay away. They did a wonderful job detailing my CR-V. I have two dogs and the hair gets everywhere and it was such a pain to clean. I was amazed that they were able to get all the embedded dog hair out from the floors, seats, and in between! I would like to give them 5 stars, but it was hard to get an appointment. Friendly service, no questions asked about the groupon; they took it with no issues. Made an appointment about a week in advance for an 8am drop off. No hassle to check in; was in and out in less than 5min. Came back before 6pm and the vehicle was ready and waiting. Great job on carpets, dash, cup holders, and center console. Small details like the roof and seats were not as clean as I had expected them to be. Vacuuming wasn't as thourogh as I would have liked, then again I'm a little OCD when it comes to this type of thing. They did wash the exterior of the car even when I didn't request the service, so that was nice. Overall they did a mediocre job, nothing above and beyond; but my vehicle is clean. read more

Update: Today (2/16/17) I noticed my pictures of their horrendous detail are somehow gone again. It appears Yelp allows removal of legitimate pictures of work when requested by the business. Horrible way to do business Yelp and of course this joke of a detail company. I'll ensure these pictures get put back up but in the meantime take yelp reviews w/ a grain of salt as apparently businesses can manipulate the results. Even w/ that this place has so many 1 star horrible reviews I'd still steer clear unless you just want to throw money away. They say the pictures aren't of a detail they did again, yet I have posted a pic of the groupon I used with them. These guys are scammers who will not own up to their horrible work when confronted. This was what Yelp said last time. Note I've uploaded the groupon yet again as proof that they did in fact do my horrible detail. "We're writing to let you know about our decision to remove the photo(s) you uploaded to the listing of Action Auto Detailing Center. Our Support team has determined that the content falls outside our Content Guidelines because it does not appear to be of the business." After not hearing anything for two days I called 3 times and left a VM stating I needed info on my car and needed to pick it up before they closed on Friday. I never did get a reply. My wife finally got a hold of them and they confirmed the number and stated they've been trying to call for two days (Not likely). They stated they were leaving early so I was basically forced to have them leave the key in the car and to pick it up sight unseen. I really wish I could post the pictures of the outcome of this detail but it appears I cannot on google reviews. I didn't look very hard but I saw white stains on the passenger seat and the passenger door panel which I was able to scrub off w/ water. The passenger sill plate and rocker were dirty enough to turn my finger black when I ran it over them. The front bumper is still full of bug splatter as well as other dirt. The chrome trim has water spots on it and the cowl still has a ton of leaves in the wiper area. The panoramic sunroof has marking all over it. I didn't even bother looking on the passenger side body or the rear as I had already seen enough. Consider this when considering using this company, I would not recommend them. I actually called Groupon to have my second detail with these guys refunded. In response to the reply to my review basically calling me a liar is below: So you're going to tell me that on July 2nd you did not have a 2013 Kia Optima scheduled that you detailed? The defensive stand you take says a lot about the integrity of you and your company. You've done more harm getting caught in an out and out lie than you would have just keeping your mouth shut here. To prove that this is in fact the company however I will show the Groupon and its date of redemption as proof that I did have this car detailed there. You, I and every potential customer know that you certainly know exactly what cars were in and out of your shop and on what day so trying to circumvent the truth with "it wasn't us" certainly isn't going to fly. the more reason for the customer to be aware of this company and their integrity. I am elated with the way my Jeep turned out after Action Auto finished with it. My husband had used a cleaner on my back seats and we could not get this chemical smell out my car, we also have 2 large dogs that shed often - so my car was already in need of a detailing. We found a Groupon for Action Auto. I know how expensive details can be and was skeptical about how great a detail for less than $100 could be, but wow was I surprised. My husband did all of the set up, calling/appointment setting for the appointment - we had to reschedule twice and they were more than accommodating with us. When I got there to drop off my car, its this smaller shop in a plaza with lots of other auto related businesses, doesn't look like much but the guy was nice. The next day we picked it up after work and WOW - I don't think my car looked this good when I bought it used a few years ago. Maybe I'm uneducated but I didn't know they also wash your car when they detail it, but that was really cool. The smell is gone, and my car looks/feels amazing. When we were picking it up, he told us it's recommended to get it detailed twice a year, and even at their full price I will definitely be doing that moving forward. read more
