My Daughter brought her car in for a wheel alignment. An hour later she got a call that they couldn't do the alignment because the steering ball joints were shot. $1700 for the repair plus $1200 for Brakes $800 for Struts and another $800 for Brake Flush, Power Steering, etc. She called me and I had to go to Action Auto to check out the Service. I had them do the breaks only $1200. I thought this was high, so I took her car to another mechanic. They said they charge $400 for a full break job and there is nothing else needed. No Steering Joint, Struts. etc. I had them do the Alignment for half of what they quoted. These Guys wasted my time and owe me a refund. Don't Use Them!!! read more

You have the availability to inquire for quotes via Yelp from the comfort of your home. I opted to call. Their location can be a little tricky to see. I noticed the fast food restaurant and it's right behind it. It's a incredibly large business. Use that as a 'landmark' and stick to your GPS. So many women like myself dread going in for anything vehicle related. Why? So many auto shops like to take advantage. You go in for a smog and leave paying an arm, leg and your first born. Not here. No frills no gimmicks. Pure honesty. When I walked in I was shocked by the enormity of this business. So many designated areas. It's basically a dealership with non-outrageous dealership fee's and upsell. (I discussed a issue that I'm having with my vehicle and returning on Thursday to correct it. Today is a scorcher. They splurge on AC unlike some competitors. Entering a business and feeling that cold air hit your body is highly welcomed. There are two entrances to Action Auto Repair. I entered through the entrance door closest to their massive desk. Warm smiles and "hello's" greeted by Brett and Oliver. Both are true honest mechanics. Honest mechanics? Yes, I'm shocked, too! There is a beverage bar patiently waiting for you to indulge in their cappuccino maker with three flavors. I indulged in their English Toffee. It was foamy and luscious. I know what you're thinking. It's hot outside and you're enjoying a hot cappuccino. Don't judge me. There's also water and soda options with snacks in their vending machine. They also have a large flat screen TV for your entertainment. Plenty of sitting area. There is ample seating and also an area for your littles to play and let loose in their designated area. I don't know of any dealerships that cater to adults and children. What a fine establishment to offer this much needed 'amenity'. It truly helps parents out a lot. They serviced my vehicle faster than I could write this review. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. I am a satisfied customer and implore locals to seek this business out for any repair needed. I went to get my car service done about two weeks ago for car maintenance and today the check engine light is blinking again, and car does nots do not want to drive more than 60 miles an hour. In the past 3 years on going to Action auto I had to go back twice after the repair/maintenance. Last service cost about $3,000. I hope I don't have to pay but I understand my car has 185,000 miles but if I customer comes back after the service, they are not a happy customer especially if they need to pay more. This place is fantastic! I searched on Yelp immediately after my car had started to make a funky noise. The reviews were great so I decided this was the place. I called in the day before pretty late and spoke with Oliver to make an appointment for first thing the following day. I dropped my car off and was given a ride home which was awesome! Not long after dropping off my car, I got a call from Oliver asking about a stench in my car and if I've noticed anything. I was shocked as I hadn't and he suspected something was dead somewhere under the hood. This has always been my worst nightmare. I avoid running over an already run over animal, I pay attention for any animals loose running in the street, I'm careful. My dad always told me the worst thing that can happen is you run over roadkill and it gets stuck in your car because it STINKS. Well, I was in for a real treat. Come to find out at some point a possum had crawled up into the engine area likely to keep warm and well you can guess where that led. Oliver called to break the news to me and I was shocked and also not going to lie, embarrassed especially because I didn't notice a smell and neither did my passengers! From what was described, that poor little dude went through it. I have all the respect and appreciation for the mechanics for dealing with the carcass and cleaning up my car after the fact. I received calls with updates keeping me in the loop which is definitely appreciated. I also had my oil changed, a belt repaired and air filter replaced with a complimentary inspection. Action Auto completely came through for me! Took my daughter's car there for a smog check (with an awesome coupon, they honored), and it went very smoothly. I was told (by Brett) while we were there, if we have any further Automotive needs, to check back with him. I told him that I've been very stressed over my Daughter's driver side door lock being punched out, to break into her car a while ago, and asked if he could fix it. Auto repair done 3/29/2022. These guys are straight shooters. Take your car here. No more searching necessary. If all of the reviews before mine aren't convincing enough, let me add a few more things for you to consider: I told them that I thought it was time to replace the brakes on my car. I felt it was time do this because of how many miles I had put on my last set of brakes. I expected to replace all four sets. Action Auto later called me and said no new brakes were necessary and explained why. They don't try to make money by doing unnecessary work. I forgot to tell them to rotate the tires. While checking the brakes, Action Auto saw the tires did need rotating and did it for me anyway - - at no charge. They also repaired and updated maintenance on a bunch of stuff that I had let slide for a long time. They found an additional, legit problem that I had not noticed, saving me from a larger malfunction later. Their labor fees and part prices are very reasonable and fair. The quality of work was great. Action Auto called a couple of days later to see if everything was good. They asked me if I was satisfied with their service. Yes, of course. The did not ask for a Yelp review. I decided to do one anyway, even though their record (past Yelp reviews) is quite clear. read more

Just like many reviewers before me, I too purchased the $25 for $50 voucher to be used for my smog check. I walked right in, signed some papers, they took my keys, and they began inspecting my car. The smog check took a little longer than other places I've been to before (~30-40 minutes). The waiting room is spacious and the couches were comfortable. Brett really is as nice as people make him out to be in previous reviews. The total came out to $50.20 and after embarrassingly explaining how I didn't even have $0.20 in my pocket or car, Brett just waved me off with a giant smile and said that it was okay. so after going on this platform and giving my review, Nat tries telling everyone that 1) i came in with a warranty. yes I did and you agreed to do the work I needed which I requested only be the water pump. I inderstand that on my vehicle the timing chain runs the water pump and you have to do both at the same time. had you listened to anything I had stated when I walked in asking you if you could do the job you stated well we will see what the warranty company says. so then a week goes by and I talked to the warranty company during that time and I receive a call from your shop saying yes they were assholes but they still honored the water pump. the only thing I needed you to do because I can't get myself into the little space without the motor being pulled or a lift. your service writer then asks if im ok with just the water pump after I declined paying for the timing because I don't have the extra money as I just had a daughter and my money is tied up into her needs, my disabled sons needs and my disabled mothers needs. you said you'd do the work and then after another week, call me with some "we are too scared to touch your car" BS even after being here for 44 years there's a reason the owner is selling his boat out of the show room in your shop and I can only assume with business practices like this, he's not making enough to keep the fishing boat or even the dingy. read more

Super sad in the experience I had with this shop. Took my car in to get the clutch replaced. 2011 Honda CRZ. Paid 3000 and some change. After picking up my vehicle I drove it to my house about 2miles away and my passenger side axle popped out making a horrible grinding noise and leaking fluid. Called them and they told me to "drive it back over" they checked it out and said they "oh they forgot to punch the locking bolt but it's fixed now. And my rotor had a rock stuck in between the shield and rotor" That's were the grinding came from.... Yea okay sure I believe you. After driving a bit now my transaxle sounds like a dog box for some reason like having reverse cut gears? Whining sound in gear. Super weird never did that before. But I'm sure it's nothing they did... Next my clutch is shuddering worse than when I brought it in to be fixed. They kept telling me I need to break in the new clutch. Mind you I only drive my car maybe 6 miles a day. They let me know I need to go past 1000 miles and if it is still doing it bring it back. At 800 miles I called them to let them know it's still very bad. They said go 200 more. So now I have moved and the shop is no where near close to me and I have clutch that is worse than when I took my car in. Plus my carpets were destroyed by the bottom of the gentleman's shoes filled with grease. Honestly has been the worst experience with this shop I have ever had with any shop. Wish I could get my money back from them and take it to a place that knows how to install a basic clutch and bring them the parts they used back. I went once for an oil change and smog check and everything was fine. I go in again for another oil change and alignment, come out paying $150 (whatever I let it go) but terrible service!!! I told them my back window didn't go back up once it was put down and they still put it down and didn't fix it so now my window is down unless I pay $70 elsewhere to get it fixed. The man working on my car didn't even put my hubcaps on correctly. As the only mechanic I have been going to, I went again this morning to ask a price of a diagnosis. $130?! Are you serious? Took in a Ford F150 with a 2.7 eco-boost engine that was misfiring at idle and white smoke out of the tailpipe and was adding roughly a gallon of coolant every three weeks. I didn't think auto repair businesses operated like this anymore. I called Action auto Repair with an engine error problem on my wife's Subaru Outback. I never drive the car and used it for a trip to LA. The check engine light came on so I thought I would have the car checked for safety, any other problems. After a short wait the owner CJ informed me I had left the gas cap off and reset the error without charge, although I had signed a service estimate and would have paid them something for the diagnostics. The shop looked professional and there is a COVID safe waiting area. I will bring my car and highly recommend this independently owned, family operated repair center! read more
