We've been here many times over the years, so we were shocked to see so many open reservations for a Saturday night. It felt like a completely different place than when we were here just a few months ago. The service was awful. Our waitress kept disappearing, and when we asked for a simple ingredient change, we were told it couldn't be done, which made us question how fresh everything really is. Our food also took forever to come out, and both my wife's dish and my lasagna were completely different from what we've ordered here in the past. Her gnocchi portion was about half the size it used to be, and my lasagna was swimming in heavy red sauce--it was more like soup than lasagna. At these prices, we expected much better. My husband and I recently had dinner with another couple and I really enjoyed the food. We opted for eating family style but if you want to order your own meal you can do that as well. We started with the Caesar salad and I have to say that this was one of the best Caesar salads I've ever eaten. The dressing was creamy and delicious and the homemade croutons tasted great and added the perfect crunch and texture. We were also served warm, crusty bread with was amazing! For our mains we ordered chicken Parmesan and baked ziti and the burnt broccoli. None of us felt like driving but they do have a substantial wine room and great wine list. Everything was so good and it was nice that the server prepared our plates for us. All of us were too full for dessert and we still had some baked ziti left over which we took home for lunch the next day. Service was great and it was a beautiful night for eating out on the patio along the water. Prices were a bit high but then again that seems to be the norm these days. Inside is classy, modern, with a low light aesthetic, decently sized bar, and patio that overlooks a artificial lake. Service was pretty good, when I asked for additional bread I got, and there were no additional complications with ordering time or speed. The table shared two salads, and I got a chicken Parmesan, the smaller of the two available portions. The salad that I tried was a Caesar salad, which I thought was good. It's hard to screw up a Caesar salad, and I thought the dressing and Parmesan were both above average in flavor. That's improving the taste of the salad. The chicken Parm does not come with pasta, but the size of the chicken Parm makes up for the lack of side. The quality of the chicken was fantastic, and the quantity was more than sufficient. I thought that the chicken farmer was extremely solid, it's hard to find a good chicken Parm in Indianapolis so this definitely surpassed all of the chicken Parm I've had in Indy. Another important part of the meal is the bread that we had, it felt like it was homemade, and was truly one of the better breads that I've had from a restaurant. Small note, nothing wrong with it, but the Parmesan that they use is probably very authentic, because it is a bit sharper than what I've received at other restaurants. Lovely place! Hidden in Weston, this place is a gem! My date and I dined in for a Sunday evening. We shared a delightful crispy margherita pizza! Fresh and delicious. We each ordered an entree, I had the meatballs with fresh in house made linguini and she the Lobster Ravioli. Easily a 8.8/10 hers and mine. Went for lunch on valentines's day, we sat outside . Nice ambiance . Our server quickly took our drink order and appetizer order . They came out with drinks and bread fairly quickly . They have grated Parmesan , vinegar and oil to dip the bread . Nice touch ! The calamari was fresh and well seasoned but wish it would also come with tartar sauce . Acquolina hosted a surprise birthday party for my dad this weekend and it was a great event. 55 people comfortably fit on the large patio, seated in groups of 8-10 at large rounds or 6 tops. The tables were nicely set with comfortable chairs, cloth napkins, fresh baked bread and, upon request, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and Parmesan to mix for dipping. The meal was served family style by server, table to table, which ran extremely well. They also brought refills for wine and beer too. In the food, the fried calamari and the calamari arrabiata was great, especially with the bread to dip. The stuffed mushrooms was the surprise, being impressively delicious. The sole entree was so good, with a nice crust and light sauce, the eggplant Parmesan was ridiculously cheesy, and the penne alla vodka was so rich and flavorful. The veal had good flavor but I thought it was a little tough and overcooked. That was the inky thing that wasn't a home run. Seevers were friendly and attentive. Upon the advice of a local, but a stranger, I went to Acquolina for lunch. The advice turned out not to be very good. I had their Margarita pizza which was thin crust, crisp with mozzarella cheese and plum tomato. For me, the mozzarella as the only distinctive cheese proved to make it too gooey and bland in flavor. My companion had the Chicken Milanese which was well pounded, thin, nicely breaded and tasty. For being about the only patrons, service was slow and painfully inattentive. Truly a 5-star dinner. We had a family celebration and there were 12 of us. The service was great from beginning to end. The team was friendly, gracious and professional. Even with the difficult layout of a straight 12-top. We had ordered family style and we were each served individually by the staff. The food was equally top notch. I am from Boston but I am on a stomach cancer organization board of directors and we had an in person meeting. I can't describe to you how wonderful this place is. Like amazing service. Everyone in this restaurant is so nice! I don't remember what I everyone at our table got big 2 shared a salad and the server actually served our salad on both their plates. My fellow stomachless friend and I shared 2 appetizers. The eggplant formaggio and the meatball Wellington. It worked out because each appetizer had 2 of each. Our server served one of each on both of our plates. We are used to having to split ourselves in the cold cruel northeast :) We literally yelled as we savored the taste because it was so good. We came to Acquolina for lunch. The staff was friendly, orders were taken right away and the food came out pretty fast. The bread they give you before the meal is excellent. Make sure you ask for a fresh loaf, it's much better when it's hot out of the oven. I got the Pollo Milanese. It was just ok. Lots of greens and tomatoes but not much chicken. Menu says lightly breaded but it was mostly all bread and not much chicken. My friends ordered the Salmon Grigliato, Penne pasta, and Gorgonzola salad. Everyone else really enjoyed their meal. I might have just gotten a dud meal. The food is pretty expensive for what you are getting, especially for lunch. Will give it another shot with a different meal next time. read more

Acquolina is tucked in a shopping area in Weston. So when we arrived for our Christmas Eve dinner I was a bit skeptical. Well, I should know better then to judge a book by it's cover. The ambiance of the restaurant is very welcoming and had the true Italian restaurant feel. It took the waiter a little while to come over to the table initially but the restaurant was extremely busy with take out orders and it was Christmas Eve so I decided to just enjoy the moment. Once our waiter came over the service was excellent and he was very attentive. We brought our own wine and the waiter was great about keeping our glasses full. We started out with an eggplant appetizer and some mussels. Each was very flavorful and were devoured in minutes. They also brought bread to the table and everyone was in agreement it was the best Italian bread. When we spoke to the waiter he told us the bread is made in house daily. For my main course I had a seafood risotto which was full of shrimp, mussels, clams, & calamari in a red sauce. It was excellent but had to take a good portion home since it was such a large dish. This is a great date night spot, next time I was to try and sit outside on the patio. We would give Acuqaline 5 stars if it wasn't for the Manager blocking several seats at the bar every night for "regulars" when there are other people waiting for bar seats. I'm not talking 2-3 minutes, I'm talking holding bar seats for 30-45 minutes! Just absurd. How does the Ownership of this restaurant allow the Manager to operate like this??? On the flip side, the service is always good, and most times great. The cuisine also never disappoints. I have had some Lobster Ravioli in the past that were super heavy but this version was light and simply delicious. My wife and I came here on a double date with some close friends. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating, we went with the indoor, as it was a humid night. We started with a nice wine (Earthquake) and ordered the stuffed mushrooms and calamari. The stuffed mushrooms were excellent. My wife and I ordered the lobster ravioli and chicken Parm. Our dishes weren't bad, but were also very underwhelming. I felt that the food lacked flavor overall. Service was good, not great and it was a little loud inside the restaurant.
