My husband and I came for dinner and ordered the bruschetta appetizer, two pizzas and the tiramisu. But we were so hungry I completely forgot to take pictures. The bruschetta was decent. More tomatoes then bread and I found the bread a bit dry. His pizza was the chicken one and mine the truffle. The pizzas were really good. Very flavourful. And good size too. Like I said, we were starving and still had two slices leftover. The tiramisu also was really good. My husband thinks there was too much cream, and I thought the ladyfingers were too watery, but otherwise delicious. Great service sitting at the bar from Kevin and Hanna. They were wonderful start to finish. Friendly and helpful and great with the cocktails. We had a red wine, a mezcal margarita and an espresso martini that was scrumptious. With 3 coffee beans We shared a Caesar salad that was good but not authentically flavored. A bit too creamy. The fried calamari was delicious. Best we've had in a while and the marinara sauce is perfect. Then we shared a diavolo pizza. This was my first time trying Piola and I ordered take out based on the positive reviews I read on the food. However, I am not a picky eater and the food was awful. :-( The burrata had no flavor and was extra runny and watery. It was not edible. We also ordered a pizza with burrata and prosciutto. The watery burrata covered the entire pizza and the prosciutto was tasteless which is normally very salty. It also did not look good when we originally opened the box. The presentation was terrible. Last item we ordered was a pasta dish with a tomato and cream sauce. The actual pasta did taste good, but the taste of the entree was so bland and the chicken was cubed but dry and rubbery. The pizza we've been praying for. I love going to a good pizza joint. Piola, once again, spot on and I finally got to try something different other than their Penne Rosata. Both pizza's were delicious & mommy bf sub'd for Follow Your Heart Vegan cheese and added mushrooms. He loved it!!!! I love mushrooms on anything, so I got the Funghi Misti & it was everything. The service was great, she was helpful with her suggestions and kept it honest which helped us make our decisions. I'd def go back & they have happy hour specials on pizza so if you can catch that! I've been here a few times and found that it's an ok place to go. The atmosphere is relaxed and you have the option to sit inside or out. The servers and bartenders have always been nice and attentive. The food is good, and I t's a nice place to go when you're in that shopping center and don't want to have to go far to have a descent meal. This was my first time at Piola and came off a recommendation from a friend. Since I know brick oven pizzas can be on the smaller side, I opted for 2 pizzas to spilt among 2 people. Pizza leftovers are never a bad thing! We were on the hungry side, so there was only 1 slice left. The pizza was well cooked, thin crunchy crust, but not burnt. The pizza is not overly saucy or cheesy. It's a good balance of dough, sauce and cheese. We went for the sausage pie and added onions and the Miami which is a standard cheese pizza with arugula and cheery tomatoes. The sausage and onion pizza was pretty tasty. The sausage was flavorful Italian sausage and the red onions added a nice sweetness. The Miami was good, nothing super special. They have a lot of unique pizza options with Alfredo sauce or brie cheese. If you are looking to branch out from the traditional fare, I would say this is a good place to try! 3/5 stars for the app...I opted to download and use the app for my pick up order. For starters the coupon code didn't work as advertised, not the end of the world, just something to note. The app is user friendly, but it doesn't give you an estimated pick up time. It goes from preparing to magically sending you an update that your order is done. Doesn't really give you much time to plan and get in the car to get there. Ordered a couple of pizzas for delivery. Service was quick and the pizzas were pretty good. We got a Portuguesa and a diavola ( pepperoni). The Portuguesa was absolutely delicious, but I was a bit disappointed with he quality of the pepperoni on the diavola pizza. It seems like they reduced the quality of it and it just tasted cheap. My friends and I often come to Piola for Gnocchi day. Lucky Gnocchi day happens every 29th of each month. This is a tradition is some countries like Brazil for example. People say that if you eat gnocchi on the 29th and put a dollar bill underneath the plate it brings you luck and money lol. I usually just eat them. It costs $9.95 until 3pm and $15.95 after that for unlimited gnocchi. There are many different flavors such as four cheese, pesto, salmon, bolognese, ham, chicken etc. The waiters just go around the restaurant serving them and its unlimited. The reason for 3 stars is because every time I feel the restaurant is not well prepared for this event. 1- They do not have enough staff to wait. In fact last time the waiters were also the hosts. The Line was humongous at the door and they would take a long time to come check in people and seat them. 2- Gnocchi is such an easy dish but even so it takes forever for you to get served since its always busy but yet they do not have enough to serve everyone. Because there are many flavors you are only served a little bit at a time. But it takes a lot of minutes between each flavor to get to your table. This time I had both the calzone and the penne rosate. Calzone: comes with ham and mushrooms but I added chicken for 3.95, amazing idea as it made it perfect. The calzone is enough to feed two people. Good on sauce and baked in wood fire oven. Penne Rosate: the mix of tomato sauce and cream make the perfect pink sauce to accompany the salmon in this Pasta. The portion is big, so if you don't each much you can take some home. Definitely recommend it! We observed a table of probably what could be a 20 person birthday celebration group meaning they can arrange big parties. Ambience is good, music not loud so you can perfectly talk. Last Thursday I stopped by to unwind the night before Irma was expecting to hit. The place was pretty full but luckily got seats within 5 minutes of waiting. The host told us about the wine special for the month: half off all bottles of wine, but I asked him if ladies night was still on. He said yes and gave us time to look over the menu. He came back and I told him I wanted a glass of Merlot and he says, "Are you sure? It's a better deal for the bottle". I replied, "I wanted the bottomless wine deal with my entree". He goes, "Oh right right". A waiter took over our table and he was good but when my friend told him his order, the waiter was not paying attention, looking at a party of patrons being seated. Both were in la-la land. I tried their eggplant pizza and I really enjoyed it, I was surprised. Again, if it wasn't for their ladies night deal I wouldn't dine here because the pizza I find flimsy and life-less but I guess today I got the cooks at a good time. What I will say is the host nor the waiter offered for the free bread. Idk if they waited for us to ask for it or since they were in lalaland that they forgot but please ask your patrons for that good stuff! We had a great dinner here. On a busy Saturday night we were able to get seated right away and our server was such a sweetie. Great. We got the Capricciosa and then I couldn't stop singing Elefante after that. Well, we enjoyed our ham, mushrooms, and artichokes on a pizza pie. I'm so lucky my guy is an adventurous eater. And a fellow wine lover. We downed our half-carafe of wine shamelessly. The prices here are so affordable so we were happy to indulge. We also ordered a side of penne a la vodka. We order pizzas, and all of them were very good. Think crust, well done, flavors and combinations were nice... The best of all, they have specials on Monday through to Wednesday. There were not many people at the restaurant, but they had many "to-go" orders, and they seemed to prioritize the pick-up/delivery orders, than the in-house ones.
