    Lobster Roll

Food was great and the service just as good, applaud the chef for the great food and presentation. A hidden gem of great food in a small city.

Great simple Mexican/Adirondack food in a roadhouse bar within a ski lodge. Owners and staff very friendly and welcoming.

It must've been obvious we aren't from around here, because some dude literally stared me down the entire walk from the front door to my seat. I can only assume he's never seen anyone this handsome before, but still, it felt a little rude. They ran out of kid menus, but this wasn't our first rodeo so we had our own markers and coloring books to keep our kids occupied. Our waiter was also an actual child (at least he looked it from where this old man was sitting), and was not exactly on top of things. He brought me a pretty weak Guinness pour (not his fault actually), and then forgot to take our order for a while. It gave us the chance to look around. The walls are covered in kitsch, in a good way. Lots of character, and it's warm and welcoming. There's an old lobster trap hung by the door, and it turns out Thursday is lobster night. We didn't reserve our table or our crustaceans (you should do both), but plenty of people around us were getting down with a pretty serious meal that included corn and potatoes and more. We opted for some chicken fingers for the kids, and the Chicken Riggies (mezze rigatoni in a spicy pink sauce, with chunks of chicken and mushrooms and more) and The Logan (marinated flank steak served atop garlic toast). I often roll with dishes named after the restaurant, and I was pleasantly surprised that they cooked the steak BEAUTIFULLY. Tender, well-seasoned, and actually medium rare. The Chicken Riggies was a giant calorie bomb in the best way. Super flavorful, huge, and just a crowd pleaser. The combination was a much better meal than I was expecting after the slow start, and it's going to bring us back. Logan's seems like a local family joint. The service is hit or miss, but the atmosphere is fun, and the food is fresh, delicious, and affordable. That makes it a winner in my book. They prefer cash, but who doesn't?

This is a lovely little restaurant that is seemingly caught in some bad luck. You should be warned…read more(as we were not) that despite the gorgeous barroom attached to the dining room (and the signage talking about wine and cocktails), they are not currently serving alcohol (due to "an incident"). I'm sure it's not a problem for some, but if you desperately need a couple glasses of wine to get through dinner with your children AND your in-laws, you might want to go somewhere else. I feel terrible for the folks running the place, because we also came in on a hot night that everyone else also decided they didn't want to cook dinner at home, and they were SLAMMED. The hostess was doing double duty as a waitress and food runner and they were visibly stressed. Thankfully, they still turned out some damn good food: I had an excellent steak (the strip), the barbecue ribs and fries and chicken fingers kept my little girls happy, and all around our larger group enjoyed what they ordered. I will happily come back, but I might wait until I know there's booze to be had.

Hung out in bar for about 10 minutes and went back to restaurant, waited again and people who arrived after us in line were seated before us. Given menus and water. Two more groups of people were seated. All of the other 3 groups seated ordered drinks, drinks were delivered and then their meal orders were taken. We waited 5 more minutes - no waitress to be seen - got up and walked out of restaurant at 4:50 p.m. This Is the second time we have come to this restaurant because the chef is a wonderful cook. Our service was poor the first time we came here but we loved the food and wanted to try again. We will never return.

They were fairly busy, only a couple open tables. We grabbed one and our server brought over a couple menus. Hubby ordered a bacon, egg and cheese on a plain bagel. The fare is pretty standard but it is unusually well-prepared for a short order place, and the staff could not be friendlier, even under an incredible crush of customers. The place does have outdoor picnic tables - the inside is a little dim due to lack of windows, if whimsical in the decor, which is mostly jokey signs of the 'unattended children will be given espresso and a free puppy' - well, kitten - variety. Just be forewarned the place does get super busy during the summer season, but it is still there in the other three seasons, unlike a number of other places, particularly in sparsely-inhabited Hamilton County. The place is much improved since our last visit, and one suspects there's been a change of management, so nota bene concerning earlier reviews.

The waiter was very friendly, attentive, and personable. Although the menu is very limited, all seven in our party found something appealing to order. For the days they aren't open for lunch they have a sandwich bar + paper bags so you can take lunch with you. It's good quality sandwich stuff too - ham , turkey , roast beef; Cheddar , American ; 3 different types of breads. And condiments! Dinner reservations should be made in advance if you want to eat in the 5-6 range. We were here often since it was easier. We enjoyed our meals. Likely since it was close to Labor Day their kitchen staff was dwindling (and not sure Covid has done to their restaurant staff experience in general) so patience is everything. When we visited there was one cook. Their burgers and salads and soups and fries and kids meals are all very good. They have great beer / wine selections. There's no point to drive an hour away to eat every night when you have a great place right there. But definitely don't forget to make reservations :)

The worst food my family has ever had as a collective experience…read more Came here during a trip to Long Lake. This place has the best ratings for local restaurants and the Long Lake hotel was quite expensive. Wish we would have went there. Ordered a pound of wings for appetizer for table. Eating them along made me wish I didn't come. All the bones of the chicken broke as we ate them, and they were rubbery as hell. Pretty sure they were cooked from frozen, and they tasted disgusting. I got the full rack of ribs. They were OK flavor wise, but the meat was tough and had to be pulled from the bone because it wasn't soft. The "sauce" that came with it was gross. My older son ordered the pulled pork Mac and cheese. He said it was disgusting and could barely finish it. He said it tasted old and microwaved. My youngest got the kid's pasta. The sauce tasted like straight up vodka and was weirdly watery. He enjoyed his "homemade" Mac and cheese, though I'm not sure how homemade it was. Tasted like boxed Mac with shredded cheese added. Finally, my wife had the feta cheese dip and miso soup. The miso soup was fine, she said, but the feta dip--or white water, as she called it--was also disgusting. And to top if off, we paid $112 to eat what we did. We will NEVER be back to this place. Try elsewhere. This place will only disappoint.
