Initially, there was a mix up in terms of my job request to them to build our a closet, but when the issue/problem happened, The Custom Closet Company owned up to it and really showed that they genuinely wanted to help my resolve my issues. All on-call contacts and e-mail communications I had with them were professional and they were prompt in providing honest answers regarding situation/timeframe of when the job could happen. What I liked was that the company was quite dependable. Once they understood the scope of work, you got the design, choices to pick/opportunities to provide feedback and select the options like colors/additional add-ons, and things generally flowed quite well. Unlike my experiences dealing with other contractors, they were pretty dependable and you could count on them holding up to their promises in terms of price estimates, timeframe of when the job could happen, and the duration of the job. Given how professional their company was from pretty much my interaction with all the individuals there (General manager, office lady who picks up the call and designer), I would definitely use them again when the next opportunities to remodel/custom make cabinets/closet/workspace at my townhome in Seattle in the future.

This has caused incredible financial challenges to my family because AVARC Construction has stolen a huge sum of money for an initial down payment on a kitchen remodel that was supposed to begin in the summer of 2022. I hired Charles Okoro and his team to help remodel my childhood home, the home my mother still currently lives in. My mother has an eye disability and having grown up in this house for 30 years, this would be the first major renovation we took on in order for my mom to have a new remodeled home where she could navigate and move around the home more freely. It would be the biggest investment I chose to do for my mom, a dream design project for my family. I trusted AVARC Construction to be the general contractor. AVARC was originally brought on to demo and build a new deck. After the deck was complete, I quicky learned that the materials Charles used were completely and when I confronted him, he said that he did not want to "stress me out" and that he was going to replace the deck. Only until I brought it up, he came out to remove and rebuild the entire deck. This proejct in itself was extremely challenging and took over 6 months to complete. Due to challenges in lack of communication and false timelines, I chose not to move forward on a kitchen remodel that I was originally going to hire him to do following the deck project. When I told his team I no longer wanted to move forward on the kitchen project, I was requesting my deposit for kitchen materials and down payment to be refunded to me. A total of $39,000 has been paid to date with no labor or services that have begun on the project. Charles Okoro and AVARC Constructions has completely RUN OFF WITH MY MONEY. After months and months of kindly requesting the refund, he attempted to refund me with a written check. His first attempt, the check bounced, and he said it was an error on his accountant and that he would re-write another check. The second time, I drove to Bellevue to meet his sister because he claims he's been "out of the state" and unable to meet me. One week later the check bounced AGAIN. He has left my mother and family in an incredibly vulnerable situation as we do not have the financial means to move forward on another contractor until we get our money back. We are in complete limbo. This man is a fraud. I am writing this review because I never want to have anyone experience what I have gone through with this company.
