I'm an InstaCart Shopper who had an order at this store today. I was done with my order and about to order some lunch at the deli department when a 6pk of yogurt fell out of my cart to the floor and splattered everywhere. At the same time a lady who I assume worked in the deli department saw this and quickly said "I'll get you some paper towels". She went and got a roll of towels and as I reached for them from her, she said she would clean up and for me to go ahead and finish what I needed to do. After I received my lunch, I was heading back to get a new pack of yogurt when she came walking up to me with a new pack. This sweet lady crossed to the opposite side of the store and grabbed me a new pack herself!!! I was so grateful for this act of kindness. Got verbally harassed by another customer in the store today. While the manager did ask if I was ok, he had done little to address this issue or the root cause, or deal with the hysterical shopper. At least the butcher counter employee was empathetic to the circumstances for me. Unfortunately I did not get the employee or the managers names. I doubt my family will continue shopping here. There are other grocery stores in the area in which I feel more comfortable than I did this afternoon and would prefer to spend my money there. read more

Best fruit of any supermarket within 30 miles. Fresh means fresh, unlike other supermarket chains who slap 'fresh' on anything that's cold. Quality matters at Acme. Every time I get fruit there, it's always crisp, fresh, and tastes just right. Cantaloupe is supposed to be crisp and snap, not mushy and rancid, something that Weis cannot understand. Moldy fruit/produce!! Absolutely rotten! I bought these "jelly drop" premium grapes over a week ago. Came home and put a bunch into a bowl after putting my groceries away, about to take a bite only to discover mold all over it. I live very close so I went back down to exchange or return them. I take them to the manager and explain. First I try to swap but sure enough the 3 boxes I picked up all had mold on them. Then I checked out another brand at the comparable price of $6 also had mold on them. Disgusting. I brought back another moldy box and told the manager, "Look theyre all moldy, I picked up 3 and each had visible mold on the top and bottom you should probably take them off the shelves." The manager said "Oh yeah we will, I dont know whos on produce but I will let them know and I can refund you no problem". Ok fine. Now over a week later, I go back in to see the same stock still on the shelves. Absolutely disgusting and even more moldier. When will acme change them out? When they finally completely decompose?? I like the convenience of ACME since its close by and was happy they just had a full renovation and relaunch. Despite a facelift and new better products its clear the staff and management just dont care. Probably cant afford to throw all that product out hoping people buy it without fully inspecting and just end up throwing it out/not willing to go back to return it. I moved close by a year ago and I really like this store compared to nearby Shoprite. It is never crowded, the selection is comprehensive and their fresh produce section is great! The butcher in the store is very accommodating and their warm food section is excellent. Not sure why the bad reviews bc the self checkout always works. The staff is polite - not over friendly - and I appreciate that I can pick up my fedex packages here. I will choose this Acme over Shoprite any day. read more

Unfortunately I have to give only 2 stars based on the lousy service I received or did not receive from one store personnel. I think her name was Patty. What a rudey patootie! I should have know better than to ask her of all people where I can find a certain type of protein bar. She had a face of hell and smelled of pure attitude. But, I did, and got the coldest shoulder ever, she barely looked at me before I walk away. This is the first time I walked into this store and was here as a personal shopper for a customer. The only reason to go to Acme Markets is if you're in the area and absolutely have to get to a grocery store immediately. You can't wait til tomorrow and you certainly can't drive the extra distance to a reputable Stop & Shop or Shop Rite. So what the hell, you might as well suck it up, spend way too much money, and stand in line for hours even though there is only one customer ahead of you. Well, perhaps that last bit was a strained exaggeration. However, one time I did go to Acme and the cashier was unbearably slow. For my part, I remained patient and personable with her as she continued to bend my ear on all sorts of subjects. The customer behind me was not as forgiving. She complained to the manager and may have even gotten the cashier fired for all I know. I feel bad writing all this down but it did happen. I've been back a few times since then but not for a week's supply of groceries. I try to only go when I'm in desperate need of one or two ingredients for a recipe. And even then I steer clear of the cashier lines and proceed directly to the self-checkout. I have to agree with the other reviewer that the vegetable selection is wanting. Though I did get a loaf of Italian bread here the other day that was excellent so I guess you never know. Oh, and one time, I needed some Hoisin Sauce and some other ridiculous thing for a slow-cooking roast. One of the stock boys went out of his way to help me find the crazy items. So that was nice. Overall though, it's way too pricey for a below-average grocery store. And yet I keep going back. Ugh. read more

I had a great cashier the other day that made me want to write this review. Her name was Laura. She was on the taller side and I recommend you go into her lane. She was really great and got us out of there fast. Some of our coupons were expired but she talked the manger into giving us the money off. She even offered to help me with the heavy items in my cart. It's hard to find someone these days who actually talks to you at one of these register but she was really sweet. This is " The Little Grocery Store That Could". The staff are friendly and welcoming and they have most items that one could need, and pack alot into a small amount of space. This supermarket is so much better than many I have been in, and they are so friendly. I have been going there for convenience.Since the a & P closed up. So with this said the pricing integrity is not right. The price on the shelve is not is what is rung up. It happen 3 times so it just not a one time thing., So I have to shop making sure everything rings up right not a way to shop. I have spoken to the store manager Bob Sheppard. And now the District Manager John Hornyik. Yes they both called. So Bob sent me a $25.00 gift card and I thanked him. John left me a message he was to call back 4 days ago.And the last time purchase 4 rolls of paper towels cashier rang up 5.....over charged and I had 4 coupons at 25 cents each he put in for DOLLAR SHOULD HAVE BEEN TWO DOLLARS. Acme presents a good quality product, but at a premium price. They have excellent selection in prepared foods and high quality bakery and butcher sections. Acme also puts emphasis on a strong selection of kosher foods. I can usually spot a good price on Monster Energy drinks here but it's never my first choice to shop at because the prices are too high up front. read more

Rotten ham from the deli counter. Yesterday I went to this store just before noon and ordered half a pound of smoked ham as I have done in the past. When I got home I put a big pile of it on a roll and took a big bite. OMG! It was completely rotten. I was hungry so I didn't sniff the ham before I bit into it Then I noticed the odor of rotten meat filled my kitchen. I'm talking about maggot ready rot here. I recall the woman behind the counter throwing something into the garbage that landed with a thud after she had sliced my ham. I checked the label she put on the ham and it didn't say smoked ham or any brand I had ever heard of. I presume she intentionally unloaded a load of rotten meat on me and threw the rest of it away. As a senior citizen, I guess I looked like an easy target for them. I live about ten miles from this store but I returned my order and got a full refund, however the customer service person was not interested in hearing what happened or doing anything about it. read more

The store opened on time at 7:00 am. Problem is the bathroom. One stall had no toilet paper the other stall did not lock. There was soap and a hand dryer. I reported these problems when checking out. I believe the cashier would take action and report this issue to the appropriate person, hopefully the manager. read more

Getting very disappointed in this grocery store. The self-check registers are always broken and the lines in regular registers are usually 5-7 people deep. Sales aren't great and to be honest the bananas are usually greener than Shrek himself. Improvements are needed. Updates a necessity. read more

I don't understand the negative reviews for this store. It doesn't have selections that are unlimited. It is a basic grocery store. However, it has most of the products that I need. In the two and a half years that I've gone here, there has never been a problem with the deli, and the staff seems friendly enough. Occasionally, a self-check register is out of order, but not all of them all at once and not more than one at a time. A high end grocery store is just right up the street for customers who want more. read more

Store has no variety of brands and the cashiers are brain dead. That's if there are any. Usually, there are 2 out of 8 open. Don't bother.

The Acme in Randolph nj is outstanding. The workers are excellent, the place is clean, deals are had.

The store is pretty great. The high prices are very over exaggerated in other reviews they just don't compare the receipts between stores. I'm writing this review because the young man on customer service went out of his way on his break non the less to help me find some power aid that wasn't on the shelf. I believe his name was mike but I'm not sure. Also I want to call out J.W who made a review on the store. If u don't think there's enough registered open then feel free to fill out an application. I'm sure u would love to stand there for 8 hours standing and bagging for minimum wage after 8 hours of school. Probably some white collar worker who was given everything at birth. Also going to call out Ms.B Because she believes that A and p was better even tho acme just bought them out. Finally going to call out Lizzy M who is just in such a rush going food shopping that she can't wait the extra minute because the self checkouts are broken. If you value your health and your kids health, i strongly advise anyone considering shopping here to avoid this place at all costs. Currently, the store is fighting a rodent problem that has been plaguing the store for months. Management cant see to find the origins of this rodent nest so it has been ignored. you can find rat dropping all thru out the store, that is why managers are always cleaning. Along with a rodent problem, the store is mismanaged with incompetence. Ive witnessed the staff belittle and slander old customers who come by via to shop on wednesdays behind their backs. Disgusting, routinely workers are always on their phones avoiding helping out customers along with the amount of alcohol that is consumed while on the job. i have never shopped at a place so vile, to the point i had to make sure i did not come out of that place with any diseases.
